super good in less than 10 minutes my dogs already had a microchip

Lilia is doing a great job there. They are running efficiently..

They gave me the round around for weeks. Every time I would show up when they told me to come back later or another day. They weren't available to do the spay or the 2 blood test. Driving in from RAYMONDVILLE just to be turned down. My dog got so sick soon after because she didn't get any attention there. I had to take her to a vet. This place is really disorganized. And quite Frank they need new people there with new ideas to how to run this place.

If you want to adopt an animal this would be the place to go to without a doubt. The staff is very welcoming and ask you what they can help you with as soon as you step foot at the door.

I m sorry but I wouldn t get a fish from here... all animals look sick. Poor babies

The workers there need to communicate with the vet they have there to determan the age of animal plus they need to test them for aggressive behavior when you feed them

No puppies....only got to see 2 dogs before I HAD to leave....

All my visits were good. Services received: nail trim $5 ($10 at Vet),adopted cat, spayed cat, required shots 4 dog & cat many years, Frequently stop to visit their cats. Staff Always kind & helpful to me & my animals.

Easy and affordable adoption. We love Norman our 5 month old cat we just adopted. Thanks for everything you do everyday at the Humane Society.

I foster Gianna for a week. She was friendly and very smart. Also a lap pup. She wants to be close to all the time. She will make someone a very lucky person. She also within the short week learn to sit and shake her paw. Love to walk!!

Don't even bother calling. They won't help your pet only because you didn't adopt from them. Very disappointed. I really thought they would help people that saved animals from the streets. On top of that, they make you go to their location just to get a list of vets that will do the job that humane society won't do anymore.

Vaccinations for a great price. Everyone goes out of their way to be as helpful as possible.

I have adopted 2 wonderful doggies from there that we consider family

I wanted a small terrier type, very particularly, and didn t know if they had what I wanted out there, but I wanted to adopt, I couldn t bring myself to buy and lend support to bringing more pets into the world when so many dont have homes. After much searching many shelters etc. we found the absolutely perfect mini schnauzer. Very cute, smart, and still a pup-so he would get along with all our cats. Highly recommend this and any shelter. You don t need to buy to get the pet you want.

Was a sad moment when I had to leave my dogs. But the personel was very helpful and caring.

If you are reading this please go visit and safe a pet..this is a Kill Shelter...dogs n cats are only welcome for 3 Days then they are put to sleep.....we were home for my late husbands funeral....my daughter adopted a 4 month old puppy who was gonna be put to sleep the next morning ....please I plea Donate and Save a Pet

I went yesterday around 4 pm to adopt a cat. There were a handful of people inside and asked someone for help. I was told to speak to a young lady looked to be in her 20s who addressed me by just saying we are not opened to the public you'll have to go outside and wait. Very rude, how about treating a person willing to care for a Cat in need of a home, Humanely! If this is how you are gonna run this place my past and recent donation are gonna stop and go somewhere else.

Love what they do, especially their pet clinics every month. I've gotten 2 cats from there.

They are so quick, and make vaccinations so quick. We were in and out in less than 15 mins during this clinics.

They take excellent care of the rescue dogs and cats. The animals are vaccinated and clean.The volunteers know their stuff. We adopted a 1 year old male after our elder died a couple of months ago.

My experience was good family adopted a puppy. Everything was good did paperwork payed $125, then 2 weeks that we took thim. I received a call that we had to uterize him and that he could have babys. And also is I didn't they going to take him back. I really don't think was that fair. Was there decision to make.

Not a no kill shelter, but has 30,06 and 30,07 signage posted. Will not be patronizing this location due to their political beliefs being front and center above all else, as well as denying me my own personal protection.

Smells horrible.. Staff not so friendly.. Also, need to pre screen for behavior issues before adopting out..

Staff is rude. Customer service is essential when attempting to get the public to adopt these animals. Management should consider getting the staff train.

They treat the dogs and cats very nice. They take donations for the new building that they want to build.If you have some extra money send it to them. Tell them francisco torres send you.

If your looking for that perfect pet look no further. The Humane Society of Harlingen is the best. Not only have we adopted one cat but now 2 and our family keeps growing. Both pets are amazing and very loving and great with our kids the perfect match for us all. Thank you again Humane Society you guys rock

The place does amazing work ,But it needs Better Ventilation! When the doctor is out they sit around. I went in to talk to the doctor a couple of times and I saw the difference.

Very affordable and professional care. Those with limited income can rest assured your pet is not receiving some substandard care. Very professional and caring.

They do a magnificent job ... they work very hard and a lot at the end of their work day they are exhausted but only that there is no one bilingual at the counter and what I saw is badly needed, from then on everything else is carried away a 10.

This place is a hypocritical shelter,only accepting abondend animal if they are from Harlingen ,even if a non harlHarli resident finds the abondend animal in this pathetic town you have to pay a $ 20.00 fee. So where is this capital of the valley City of harlHarli come to play? All this boasting hoop la. Never had a problem like this in hoHoust area, oh let me guess haroHarli is a world class city ? Lol freaking farm land. Don't understand how leaders in this boring town try to di thier own thing it's kinda like a Communism thing. Poor little vtiwn needs all the attention it can get

Humane society has shots and testing done every 1st Saturday of the month.

Eileen and the rest of the staff are so nice and love the animals they house. They do everything they can to coordinate with rescues to save as many lives as possible.

Dirty but overall tries to meet needs of homeless pets. Offers free volunteering by providing one on one animal time by taking for walks, playing, or bathing the animals.

They work on a shoestring budget for the welfare of unfortunate animals. The staff is helpful and friendly.

Staff has always been super friendly, answering question after question about the animals and even letting us take a dog outside to watch him play and run around.

The friendly staff is very helpful and informative. Miles, the shelter manager, is enthusiastic about adoptions. The animals look healthy and ready to go to good homes. It is very sad when you know that not animals go to good homes, i want to take them all home.

They do GREAT work, but hate the spray and release program

The group of volunteers and workers do a great job. As best as they can. If you want to save money come to the once a saturday a month deal they have. use your brain and pre-register. Some people do not pick up after their dog. It's hundreds if not a thousand people in lines over the course of a few hours. Again, be prepared for an abundance of stupidity, body odor and inconsiderate obese people. I just read some clown complaining about their not being enough people for the size of Harlingen. It's a volunteer clinic. They run to help control the pet population. This is a free service all you are paying is the actual medicine. Pay for a vet if you are so unhappy.

My wife and I recently lost our unborn child a few weeks ago. We thought we would adopt a puppy. I went by the facility on 4-21-16. as soon as I walked in, no one bothered to help me or ask me if i needed help. I saw some volunteers or employees walk right pass me without even asking if i needed any help. I finally got the attention of a young lady that walked me to the back. I wanted to ask questions but apparently certain members of the staff were not well informed on some of the animals the facility has. As I was waiting for an answers I fell in love with a puppy they had up for adoption. My heart was set, my mind was convinced that this is the one that needs a home.. Our Home. I told the lady I would be back the next day 4-22-16. Unfortunately, as for adoption, it turned out to be the worse thing ever. As soon as i walked into the facility, the negativity was felt. Lots of commotion of the employees there. Chickens with out a head. I finally got the attention of a staff member after i walked my self to the back. The only person in the back was the one that helped me. It seemed he was the one that cleans.. He gave me the card which i took to the front. At this point still there was no one around me.. finally a female person gave me a questionnaire for me to fill out. After I filled it out with excitement, she began to drill me on some questions. I know and realize it is important to ask as I am familiar with the animal cruelty in the Rio Grande Valley.. but the most disgusting moment was when the lady played with my feeling, by asking me if I would neuter the puppy. I said not now hes still a puppy. With out any explanation she said flat out I cannot adopt this puppy.
If the state has rules and regulation I understand that. All this would have been avoid if the employees or the volunteer would have had basic people skill along with some sympathy towards animals as well as the adopting family... Never again, No one should be labeled as unfit when these animal are sitting in a cage under concrete floors, while they are waiting for the 100% percent perfect adopting families to come to the rescue.

staff are friendly and caring but the process of adoption feels a lil extreme and discriminating.

There's a lot of mixed reviews on this shelter. No matter what, the people here really have the heart to help the animals, with their best interest in mind. During the shot clinics, they have good prices for shots & bundles you save money on.

Grate place and grate price

The staff aren't always very friendly but they take great care of my dog and that's what matters to me.

True vessels of love work here. They love every little furry friend they house and try to make every kind of happiness and comfort possible for those little guys on there. Great place to look is you wanna add an addition to your family.
