Starting from the 3 year old journey program, thanks to this school, my 14 year old son was accepted to study as an engineer in high school in a different state. All staff, teachers, program director etc are very dedicated to your child's learning. Thank you Jeffrey Canada for bringing such involved teaching and other programs to our community. Now my 3 old daughter has started preschool. What you put in is what you get. I've gotten so much and I will continue to send all my children to HCZ. My family and friends has trusted their dedication. PROUD PARENT OF 2 HCZ CHILDREN

About Harlem Children's Zone Promise Academy JHSI

Harlem Children's Zone Promise Academy JHSI: A Nonprofit Organization Dedicated to Education, Community Outreach, and Health and Wellness

Harlem Children's Zone Promise Academy JHSI is a nonprofit organization based in Harlem that has been providing comprehensive support to children and families in the community for over 40 years. The organization was founded by Geoffrey Canada in 1970 with the goal of breaking the cycle of poverty through education.

Today, Harlem Children's Zone serves over 13,000 children and families across a 97-block area in Central Harlem. The organization provides a range of services including early childhood education, after-school programs, college preparation, health and wellness initiatives, family support services, and community outreach.

One of the flagship programs at Harlem Children's Zone is the Promise Academy Charter Schools. These schools provide high-quality education to students from kindergarten through twelfth grade. The schools have consistently achieved impressive academic results with their students outperforming their peers on state exams.

In addition to academic excellence, Promise Academy also focuses on character development with an emphasis on values such as respect, responsibility, perseverance, integrity and empathy. Students are encouraged to become leaders both inside and outside of school.

Another important program at Harlem Children's Zone is Baby College which provides parenting classes for expectant parents or parents with young children up to age three. This program helps parents develop skills that will enable them to create a nurturing environment for their child’s growth and development.

The Healthy Living Initiative is another key program at Harlem Children's Zone which aims to promote healthy lifestyles among children and families in the community. This initiative includes nutrition education classes as well as physical fitness activities such as dance classes or sports teams.

Harlem Children’s Zone also offers college preparation programs such as College Success Office (CSO) which helps high school seniors navigate the college application process by providing guidance on financial aid applications or scholarship opportunities.

The Family Support Services team works closely with families who need assistance accessing resources like housing assistance or job training programs so they can achieve economic stability while raising healthy kids who are ready for success in school.

Finally but not least important is Community Outreach Program where staff members work closely with local organizations like churches or community centers offering workshops about different topics related to parenting skills or health issues affecting residents living within Central Harlem area.

In conclusion,
Harlem Children’s Zone Promise Academy JHSI has been making significant strides towards improving educational outcomes for low-income students since its inception over four decades ago. With its comprehensive approach that addresses not only academics but also character development along with health & wellness initiatives plus family support services; it has become one of New York City’s most successful nonprofits dedicated solely towards helping underprivileged communities thrive.
