I used to like going here. The service was usually pretty good and the quality of the meat was good. Decent sandwiches, decent BBQ.

No more.

I placed an order for pickup and was given a quote of $13.98 per pound. Two days later, when I went to pick it up, the price had almost tripled.

When asked what was going on, the person behind the counter said that's what the price was and that's what the price he told me was (it was the same guy).

Except for the fact that the price had been scribbled out and changed on their receipt...

I was never told anything but the $13.98 price. My receipt (photo attached!) shows $13.98 per pound. To have the balls to lie to my face and try to make me look like an asshole when YOU CLEARLY MESSED UP is no way to run a business.

Did you find out the price was wrong? Guess what? My number is on the receipt. You could have called and told me about your screw up. Hell, you could even have APOLOGIZED WHEN I CAME TO PICK IT UP AND OWNED UP TO THE MISTAKE.

The guy's attitude was completely without guilt or remorse. He could give a shit. Not only am I not going there again, I'm making sure everyone I talk to knows to never go there.

Absolutely abhorrent. Shameful.

With all the great BBQ spots popping up in the Valley as of late, it's pretty amazing that Hardy's continues to fly under the radar. Only available on weekends until they run out, this is one of the best hidden spots you'll find in the Valley.

It's really simple, you order inside of the market, then they bring your order in a sytrofoam container, wrapped up really well and tight in plastic wrap, and then you enjoy. For $20 you get a lot of one meat or not as much (but still a lot) of two. I tried the Ribs and Brisket. The baby back ribs are already cut individually and you get four to an order. The brisket? You get a ton of that. I couldn't even finish it. Had to take it home. Everything is served dry, meaning without sauce. And in reality, you really don't need it. They both have great smoke and the flavor of the meat really comes through. You do get some sauce, but only three little cups which is nowhere near enough for this size of an order. You're probably best to take it home, and use a sauce you really like on this or just eat it dry.

Sides are OK. There are only three hot sides and except for corn on the cob, they're not the ones you expect to see with a barbecue plate (Spanish rice?) The corn was a full ear but no butter to spread on it. Lots of prepared salads to pick from, so I went with the standard cole slaw and like the meats, this was also dry. This time, being dry is not such a good thing. I would have liked some more dressing. Otherwise, I might have well been eating cabbage straight.

But you're really here for the meats, and Hardy's totally delivers (except they don't deliver). Definitely worth a try and you'll save a few bucks over Barrel and Ashes anyday.

Husband normally come for the bbq goods and breakfast burritos the deli makes. I like the sandwiches and the selection. Love the customer service and cleanliness. Special kind of place, nothing like those big places.
Come and check it out.

I have been going to this butcher for years now. I'm assuming this is the only butcher in the area since I have not seen anyone else that is solely a butcher. The quality of the meat is outstanding, the prices are no higher than a regular supermarket such as Ralphs or Vons. Just like you would go to an accountant to sort out your taxes and give you a quick lesson in finances, that is the way I feel when I come to this place to purchase meat, I get a quick lesson about barbecuing and what is used for what. out of everything over here I would most recommend the tri-tip roast which is amazing for parties and events.
