Harber Real Estate Review

Renting my property with Harber Real Estate was a fantastic experience from start to finish! The team were very professional and easy to deal with, I would definitely recommend them when thinking about renting your property or looking for a rental in the future.

Friends, family and local community...Do not use these agents!!

We decided to use Harber as we wanted to support the local agents and this was the biggest mistake we did. We had 2 rental properties for Harber to manage and within the first couple weeks we had already ran into poor management issues. We had 3 property managers within 6 months and each was no better than the other. I received very vague and unhelpful emails for any issues that had risen and left to monitor and deal with the issues of the properties myself and follow up the property managers for answers. For one property we had tenants damaging our floor boards and it took months at a time for property manager to arrange 1 contractor to come out and do a quote. She also advised that a property report for 1 quarter was not done and when I had expressed my anger, she changed her mind and said it had been done but this was a lie.

Harbers management had agreed in a meeting that what we have been through was not acceptable and that we would be granted a full refund of management fees. When I checked their reconciliation, it was brought to my attention that only a partial refund was granted and I was told a full refund would not be reimbursed as previously promised.

Harber might look the part but they certainly have no care factor for your properties nor you as the landlord. These property managers will tell you that you are not their only clients and they will pass the blame to another person. I wasted many months managing them managing my properties and going through emails to prove their incompetency when they tried to deny it.

Extremely dissatisfied with their service!!!

Be very careful when doing work for this company. I was informed over the phone to do a job which i did and when it was time for payment they pulled the old order number trick. When i explained that this was requested by phone they refused to pay. Shonky, Unprofessional and untrustworthy. Tammy Cannavale was the staff member who told me to do the job and now doesn't work there anymore. If this is how they treat tradesman imagine how they treat you selling your house. Beware, if you are dumb enough to do any work for them make sure you have an order number as their word means nothing. Steve Harber was informed of this situation by his staff and told them don't pay it. No wonder the Real estate industry has a bad reputation with agencies like this!!!!!!

All I can say is that Craig Waters provided excellent no nonsense advice and I could not recommend him enough....

Beware Tenants!! In final inspection, they will take their time doing inspection for 21 days, come up with new list as week update, and happily charge you what you did not do (even have proof, they will just ignore) or small detail such as pin size hole in curtain for 500 bucks.

Worst communicators ever... been in one of their rentals for 8 months now and had 4 different property managers and was notified once of any changes. When its come to trying to get things done or fixed around the property, we have followed all the right channels with email and phone calls, we can never reach anyone... Horrible service to the tenants, would hate to see how they treat the owner of the properties...

We used Harber for 11 years on two properties as property managers, with our first property, we purchased it as a used home which we never lived in to see the wear and tear that is expected with rentals, However we did purchase a new property that we lived in before renting it out for 6 years while we moved interstate. upon return it was discovered that our investment had been abused by multiple tenants and the so called property managers really didn't care,

Damage was the main issue yet the keys we handed over were never returned by the manager and we needed to have a lock smith unlock and key our internal windows and doors. These managers were very quick to charge landlords for repairs that tenants had caused and we had to question all costs and when we did pay for repairs the prices were not competitive and we have also found the quality to be sub standard. issues that we disputed upon return they have not paid the contractor and we have the contractor chasing us for money that the tenant should have paid for due to damage as they were moving out.

If you are looking for a property manager and you care about your investment I would strongly suggest you go for a smaller company that cares more about the interests of its customers and not its customers tenants. I do understand that property management is a difficult role to perform yet when you trust someone with your investment and you pay them to look after it, you would expect to get what you pay for!!!!!

One of the real estate managers Lindsay Freegard is the most professional, driven and integrity focused manager I have dealt with. I could not recommend her high enough and she will deliver on everything she has promised and will go above and beyond her job description to ensure your property is managed to the best of her ability and gives you value!. If your looking for a property manager look no further.

As a former real estate agent I can vouch for the fact that Steve Harbor is the agent that agents get to sell their properties. My property was sold in Duncraig by Steve for $70k over the next appraisal figure and I am now selling in Yanchep and will beg him to sell it for me.
