Wonderful treat on our doorstep. I can honestly say that I've only been to one mediocre play here as all the rest have been really entertaining. There is such variety of subject matter and high quality productions with great actors and actresses. The bar is delightful. I have had my mind opened to so many new areas of history and philosophy
V close to Swiss Cottage. 100% recommended.

Really great theatre. Great selection of shows, comfy seats and lots of legroom. Good bar, with selection of hot and cold drinks.

Lots of people sitting round in common areas too, so I expect it's a good place to do some work

Lovely intimate performance space delivering lesser known shows. Not much leg room in the upper level, I felt like I couldn't move the whole show, but great view of the stage. Definitely recommend checking your bags/ large coats if you're in the upper level.

Great little theatre, cheapish drinks but very uncomfortable seating in the front row dress circle for someone as tall as me (2 meters). All seats appear to have a good view.

We saw Emila Fox in 'Sex with Strangers', which was great.

I would given 5 stars if it wasn't for the seating.

Loved the play (The Humans) but as an oldie (76) sitting in the circle, I do I d the lighting to be almost dangerous. Our seats, P10 and 11, were in an area so dark when we entered I could barely see where I was going. I noticed the light above us was out which did not help. So entering and leaving the auditorium was really problematical. That aside, it is a wonderful space.

The Hampstead Theatre programs some terrific theatre. I recently went to see all-male Shakespeare company Propeller who are wonderful players. The bar is long and has a selection of interesting beers and ciders beyond the bog standard. They also serve some great cakes and coffees during the day if you happen to go to a matinee - the cheesecake is worth checking out. Don't go to Swiss Cottage for pre-theatre dinner though - it's sadly empty unless you fancy a bit of a walk or a trip to M&S for a sandwich. Go to the Hampstead for exciting theatre, casual drinks but not for filling food!

The theater is nice and all the seats are good meaning you can get a good view regardless where you are seated. The play I've been seen (Jude) was nice, well played and with a beautiful decor. Highly recommend this London theater.

Great feel and spaces overall with helpful staff and friendly atmosphere. The main difficulty the main stage has is typical of thrust designs: acoustics are not supportive of clear audibility for side seats when actors are far down stage or facing away. This was particularly apparent in the production Jude which was otherwise very enjoyable and highly recommended.

Always good quality interesting plays. Love the space too. And the small theater downstairs is so wonderfully intimate with only 2 rows on both sides of the stage - always a treat to be this close to actors.

An excellent main theatre and a cosy downstairs studio theatre. Some excellent productions, often with well known casts. Very convenient for Swiss Cottage station, it is enjoyable to arrive early and have a nice light bite or cake and coffee before the performance.

Hampstead has had a marvellous ten years under the helm of Edward Hall who is shortly to leave for pastures new. A minute's distance away from Swiss Cottage tube station (Jubilee line), it is an attractive modern theatre that has produced a wide variety of shows, quite a number of which have gone on to the West End. Definitely need to pre-book your seats as it's a popular venue.

I've seen two shows here and both were innovative and intense. The theatre had either been renovated or they moved, I dunno but it's really nice inside now, not roasting hot and cramped like it was on my first visit (2017). The staff is very friendly and helpful, and things are all nicely organized so there is minimal chaos to distract from the excellent works on stage.

I watched I & You at Hampstead and it was a magnificent show at a magnificent venue, the theatre was a lot more intimate that I was expecting which I was very pleasantly surprised by. I look forward to whichever show I get to experience next there.

My favourite theater in London, hands down! I try to see every play they do because so far there hasn't been a single "weak" one, which I can't say for many of the bigger more famous theatres in London. Always thought-provoking and very current content on stage.
The athmosphere in the bar/cafe is very relaxed too, with a few tables outside on a decking overlooking a small park. They also have books available to grab to read for free so it's easy to spend a few hours there, just chilling.
