Very cool dining experience! Very authentic and real setting, with history. We sat right by the fireplace in the former cellar. Food and wine were also very good. Even the house cabernet was great. Prime rib was very good, charred on outside tender in middle, and they give you a lot of food, more than I was expecting. As an historic dining attraction, it is not cheap obviously - don't go there and think you're going to get a steak for the price of a chain steakhouse. Servers were very professional and friendly. I would eat here once a month if I lived in the area.

FYI - The food is prepared in another kitchen house right next door and is completely covered as it is served. So the reviewer talking about flies, is incorrect.

We had a great time. The food was expensive but the meal was delicious. I had rack of Lamb my wife had Filet Minion I also had a delicious local beer (I usually do not like beers)
Also the waitress was great, knowledgeable and gave us great service. The best part of the restaurant is that it was built in the 1760 s as a stage coach stop. George Washington, Jefferson, Grant, and Lee all eat here. We highly recommend this restaurant.

Great food and I felt like I was in a different era why there, like I traveled back to late 1800s. Prime rib was cooked great, and the potatoes were also very good. The full bar did good with my old fashioned. And the cream brulee was very good. This was a Valentine's Day dinner for my wife and I, and I would go back, maybe not often but I would go there again for a special occasion. Staff was super friendly and made sure our nite when well. The dinning room was nice, a little cold but it is an old building, I would dress a little on the warmer side for sure..

I cannot say enough about our visit. More of an overall Experience than simply going out to dinner. From the minute you walk in to the Very old, Very historic building, professional through and through. The small staff worked so smoothly catering to the small dining room, and they were there when you wanted them, but otherwise left your party perfectly alone to enjoy your dinner. Hands-down the Best staff I've had serve me in 30 years. The food, all prepared in the separate kitchen building out back behind the old stage coach inn, was simply incredible. Large portions too. Everything was hot, fresh, and fantastic. Very pricey BUT, all together, an absolutely perfect pairing of food, service, and surroundings. Worth every single half penny spent. You'll leave happy, and you will be telling people about this dinner for decades to come.

We happened upon this restaurant as accidental tourists. From the minute we walked in I was intrigued! It feels like you are stepping back in time. From the appetizer to dessert everything was delicious! There was a mixup in the kitchen with our meal and they gave my husband and I dessert on the house. The waitstaff was very friendly and knowledgeable as well. This restaurant is a dining experience!

Excellent meal, impeccable service!! We had a party of 9 with 8 different appetizers, 4 different entrees, and 3 different desserts. All were delicious, all cooked to perfection, and served timely and hot. We'll be back!!
