A very well organized estate with a great selection of wines to taste.
The girl we welcomed was super nice and competent: she explained everything and advised us.
Do not miss it if you're in the area.

If you go to Alsace this is the winery to visit absolutely! Crops 100% organic from 2012 and very high quality wines. In addition we had the pleasure of being assisted in the tasting by Carine very kind and professional. He helped us learn about and appreciate Alsatian wines. They deserve the reputation they have!

About Gustave Lorentz

Gustave Lorentz is a historic winery located in the heart of the Alsace vineyard on the slopes of Bergheim, including Altenberg de Bergheim. The winery has been producing high-quality wines for over 200 years and has become a household name in the wine industry.

The Gustave Lorentz winery was founded in 1836 by François Lorentz, who was passionate about producing exceptional wines that reflect the unique terroir of Alsace. Today, Gustave Lorentz is run by sixth-generation family members who continue to uphold François' vision and passion for crafting world-class wines.

One of the things that sets Gustave Lorentz apart from other wineries is their commitment to sustainable viticulture practices. They believe that taking care of their land and vines will result in better quality grapes and ultimately better quality wines. As such, they use organic farming methods and avoid using any harmful chemicals or pesticides.

Gustave Lorentz produces a wide range of wines, including Riesling, Gewurztraminer, Pinot Gris, Pinot Blanc, Sylvaner, Muscat d'Alsace and Crémant d'Alsace. Each wine is carefully crafted to showcase the unique characteristics of its grape variety as well as its terroir.

Their flagship wine is Altenberg de Bergheim Grand Cru - one of Alsace's most prestigious vineyards - which produces some of France's finest white wines. This wine has won numerous awards over the years and continues to be highly sought after by collectors around the world.

In addition to producing exceptional wines, Gustave Lorentz also offers visitors an unforgettable experience at their tasting room located at their estate in Bergheim. Here you can taste some of their best vintages while enjoying stunning views over the vineyards.

Overall, Gustave Lorentz is a must-visit destination for anyone interested in experiencing some of France's finest white wines while learning about sustainable viticulture practices firsthand from one of Alsace's most respected winemakers. With over two centuries worth of experience under their belt combined with modern techniques and technology; it’s no wonder why they are considered one among many top-tiered French Wineries today!
