Super fun place with a great IMAX dome theater. I have seen many traveling exhibitions here that were very well presented. This place is always clean and inviting. The cafe is very expensive for a drink or snack.

Always an amazing experience. My kids love it and my toddler talks about it for weeks. She was absolutely obsessed with the shadow wall. I think the membership is point worth it for any family especially you go more than twice a year.

The Body Works exhibit is a great place to learn anatomy and physiology for all age groups. There are a variety of educational games that teach individuals about nutrition, and how to make healthy choices when selecting the foods we put into our body. Also, one can learn about different occupations within the medical field by participating in hands on activities. This is only a small portion of what the museum has to offer. There are many other exciting exhibits to explore. I chose to share this one because it is my children's favorite.

So much fun! We had been meaning to visit for a year now and finally went. And immediately regretted waiting so long! My kids had the best tike, and though we were there for like 3.5 hours they didn't get to do it all. We did enjoy the IMAX though. And the dock area was my toddler's favorite, they could have spent the entire day there!

A really great place for kids under the age of about 12 I would say. Well done, fairly priced. Clean, clever equipment and exhibits. The Imax is simply an awesome experience but I think for teens and adults, not the little ones.

my friends and I went here, it was so much fun! My favorite part was the lizards they had in the terrariums... but they did have the bearded on sand which most pet owners do not recommend since It can cause impaction but besides that, it was a great experience!

The family loved it! Friendly staff, very interesting and hands on exhibits. Tons of stuff to do for the kids! Only bad thing was a lot of the exhibits didnt work that well, or was broken. Otherwise its be a 5 star

School age children would love this. It was a little too much for my 3 1/2 year old grandson. Maybe a more calmer, quieter type child would enjoy it more. His favorite was the "hands on" section. I highly recommend it !

Kids Over 5 won't have much to do. Many exhibits are broke. The entire hands on courtyard has two broken machines in it. Very small with few attractions. Pay at least $10 per person to play with popsicle sticks and legos. Cost $30 to take our kid here. Go literally anywhere else and have a better time.

We recently Visited the Gulf Coast Exploreum during the guitar exhibit. Save your money and go to a guitar center. The exhibit had nothing one couldn't find at any big box music store across the country.

We also did the dinosaur "IMAX" movie. While the movie was interesting and informative i cant think of anything that would make it "IMAX". It was NOT IMAX format. We thought something was wrong with the projector until we realized.

This was the second bad visit we've had at the exploreum.(first being the lame chocolate exhibit) I don't think we'll be coming back for a third helping of disappointment.

Reasonably priced, $19 for two adults and one child (8 years old); that was with a discount and NO imax tickets. For the most part we had a good time, great for kids, tons of hands on displays, build and conduct different experiments in the hands on hall
Cons: attended while two elementary schools were on field trip, would advise to try and go on a day were this is not the case; many of the displays were broken/did not function correctly
Overall experience was good, and for the money a great way to spend a few hours without much harm on the wallet!!

I'm currently a marketing intern here and I just love the environment! This center is fully dedicated to providing people of all ages with a fun and educational science experience. They have created more offers to make the experience cost as low as possible, such as the membership program which gives you access to the exploreum year-round for an annual fee. There will be 3 new IMAX films featured this year in the dome. Definitely one of the highlights of Mobile. You won't regret visit(s) here!

Definitely NOT worth the money! A huge disappointment. Not only have they gotten rid of alot of the fun things they used to have but most displays and events are broken. The Exploreum used to be a great place many years ago. Sadly, Won't be visiting again.

Love this place! Great pleople, friendly service and some pretty amazing exhibits. If you come to Mobile and you have not been yet this is definitely a place to go and spend the day with the family.

Cool rotating exhibits, imax theater and plenty of activities for kids (and adults) if you have a 5 and under child, it is well worth it to purchase a yearly membership. There is a special area for that age range with a huge nautical theme ball pit, additional play area, tables with legos, puzzles, crayons, etc and also a puppet and dress up collection. Plenty more.

Biggest waist of time. Went in and turns out the IMAX was closed because of a meeting. So I went to the exhibit section which was the biggest disappointment ever. Paid $12 to walk in and out in a matter of 10 minutes.

Not worth the money. There are some pretty cool stations but at least 50% don t work. Many areas have limited to no educational value. Took our 11 and 13 year old they were bored after an hour. Most is the things they enjoyed were items we can do at home, LEGO, paper airplanes, snowflakes etc

This was a great trip. Plenty of things for a 2 yr old and an 8 yr old to do! It was very clean. Great educational experience and lots of hands on playing! Recomend for babies and older children! They have a fantastic play area for toddlers!

As soon as I had children, I asked for an Explorium membership for my family that Christmas. My kids are now 2.5 and 4 and we still love going to the Explorium!! We have had one birthday party there and it was a huge hit! And SO EASY! I love when the traveling exhibit is a kid-friendly one- we loved Curious George!!! The Wharf of Wonder is always fun too. I wish they had certain days or hours listed that were for field trips. I don t like being there for those times with my small children. We love the bubble day they do during the summer and all of the special events!!!

Staff members are polite. Movies are great. Need to clean the projectors.

This place is awesome. Brought my kids. But I think I enjoyed it way more than them! I wish i would have found the back exhibits earlier. I went closer to closing and they were cleaning the ball pit for kids. My daughter would have had the best time. We stopped and got ice cream before going home. The gift shop has items on clearance as well.

Have been several times and their special exhibits are always informative and well put together. Our docent Wayne was an excellent guide. The IMAX theater will be renovated over the summer. Look forward to more interesting exhibits in the future.

Had a great time visiting the museum. Plenty of interactive displays to explore in various sections. Sadly, not all displays were working. Regardless, it's still a nice place. The IMAX theater was also great, my first experience. Overall, I had a lot of fun with my wife and would definitely recommend to families with younger children.

Expensive. Outdated and some of the kids exhibits don t work. I would expect for the price people pay to enter everything would be up and running. This place needs a makeover and to update.

Our son always loves it, and they have a variety of interesting temporary exhibits that appear throughout the year. While we usually miss it, there is good programming by volunteers as well. A typical adult would probably look at the place and give it 3 or four stars because it, like many museums, visibly shows the pain of lessened public investment in these types of places over the past few years. But I'm giving it stars based on our son's typical reaction to it. Memberships are inexpensive and get you admission to many, many museums across the country.

I always love going to the Exploreum. We went to the Genghis Khan exhibit and saw some very interesting artifacts. Great place to take children! Kids can have fun and learn while doing so.

Really enjoyed. Interesting educational exhibits for all ages. Nice that there is an Imax associated. Even though downtown, parking wasn t a problem. As someone else has pointed out the body works area is well worth the visit. You will learn here.

We were visiting from out of town and really found this place to be great. If you are a teacher, bring your teacher ID and you'll get a discount. Parking is a little tough, but if you're willing to hunt, you'll find free 2 hour parking. However, I was told that they really do enforce the 2-hour limit

Best thing going for kids and families and anyone, really! Fun, interactive experience and the big dome theater is unrivaled. Excellent gift shop. Area about health, the body and medicine is always there, as are other science exhibits with things to do to make those a-hah connections. Changing traveling exhibits, many blockbusters, are a valuable offering to the community. Labs with live stuff happening! One New Year's Eve, the lab let us make some fireworks before we went outside to see the city's big fireworks show! They hire knowledgeable former educators, tech types and others eager to bring a great experience to visitors. Management is committed to quality programs. Lovely old building. Great place. Cafe has gone to junk food instead of the quality there used to be, but I guess it is cheaper and what people want? At least you can get a bite to eat bc there is a lot to do in the place and you need something available on site.

We went to the Curious George exhibit. My kids really enjoyed it but I honestly expected it to be a little more educational. It was pretty much a large playground and the workers were just around if you had a question or needed assistance. The rest of the exhibits were a tad bit out my kids age range. Overall I pretty much paid for my kids to have an indoor play date.

We make a point of stopping there anytime we are in the area. They have a wonderful variety of scientific-based exhibits. There are always new ones each year and there are some old favorites as well.

Went to see Genghis Khan exhibit and then to the IMAX theater to see more. It was great and would highly recommend it. They also had shows that were live. And a woman are doing illustrations from Japan in ink drawings that were just beautiful.

Great place to visit with family. There is always a nice exhibit. Along with interactive, fun learning stations for children. The Imax theater is a great experience for the whole family. I'm looking forward to our next visit.
