Took my Martin acoustic/electric guitar to Guitar Restorations to get a buzzing high "e" string fixed. it was in the fall of 2014. I payed $130 to have the saddle replaced and have the neck set up. When I came to pick it up the string still had a buzz. Left it a few more days and came back to pick it up. Took it home and noticed the buzz was gone but the guitar was harder to play. Got referred to a repair person a little closer to home. He took one look and said "who worked on this guitar, the saddle is too short." After further inspection he told me Martin guitars have a 16 degree radius saddle, but this one was a 10 degree. No wonder it plays so bad. After another new saddle and $120 my guitar now plays great. I sent an e-mail to Guitar Restorations explaining all of this but never got a response.
I took my Les Paul here to have a new nut installed and to fix an issue with my G and B strings not staying in tune. The gentleman is extremely knowledgeable and got my Gibson sounding like brand new.. And very reasonably priced!
I've had a number of guitars repaired by these guys over the years including Monkees model Gretsch that was completely stripped of the finish as well as the Monkees pickguard & trust rod cover. Bill managed to custom make those missing parts & do a refund that impressed Fred Gretsch Jr, Duke Kramer & Jimmy D' Aquisto! ( We took the restored guitar NAMMS show to show Duke who had provided no jtechnical info to make the restoration as accurate as possible) I've never had a bad experience with the guys ( but no one is perfect) but knowing them as I do I would find it out of character for them not to make something right in the event that someone was unhappy with the work as another reviewer indicated
