I work for guardian for a number of years and left on a positive note . The job is great as long as you don't have to deal with management . I had positive but mostly negative memories of them. TheThe Gm couldn't remember me even tho I had met him multiple times, dispatch will call you none stop to come in to cover a call off, you are always at fault no matter what. Payroll don't return your calls useally , you have to keep calling her. The Client is always right so if you have a problem with them your best interest is to lay low and find a new job
The thing is some of these problems have been going on for a long time. I scan through comments and 90 % from stuff I seen our true ... I know I can come back but I would hate to.... .. .. You smile until you find better

I've been with Guardian for at least 2 years now and it has been the best company that I have been with since I've been in security for the last 6 year's, I was promoted to Supervisor within two months of being with the company. My operations manager David wood has shown me that he appreciates and acknowledges the hard work his staff gives to the company.

Guardian is TRULY one of the most unprofessional security companies to work for. Because the Managment is inept, and two-faced. Plus the medical benefits are cheap and low end; working for that cheap, low end, bootleg, lily-white-Guardian Security, make one want to find a job in another line of work.

I applied with Guardian Security and found out in order to work for them, i had to cut off my locks. Ok, doable. Then i was promised a 13hr supervisor position. A little low for a Sup, but still doable. Afterwards i find out that my site supervisor is Kyliesha McCall, and even after reading the horrible reviews on google, sill doable. After having perfect attendance since my start date, i missed a day of work due to personal reason. During this 24 hr time period, i was fully replace at my permanent site and was without work for a month and a half due to david not wanting to return me to the schedule. Finally to top it all off, David Wood returned me back to the schedule only after being forced to by executive manager Ched. Now that im on guardians pay roll agian. I currently make 12.5 an hour for 18 hours a week. Do not apply or sacrifice anything for this company. Stop researching them now and google AlliedBarton Security Service, NOW!

I am looking to hire a security company for a church. This is terrible, not one review from a contracted customer. The majority of the reviews were from former employees talking about how bad the company is and the rest are the current employees and owner responding about how good of a place it is to work. Well, it worked, I know how to separate but not to have one paying customer to talk about the company says a lot. Good luck.

Hello beautiful people! I've been applying for this company for the last three years, I've left about a hundred messages for Jason, no follow up call, no nothing, I'm starting to think it's personal, a past higher authority that's holding a grudge, God sees EVERYTHING, who ever you are, nothing good will come from your actions, I'm available for work, I actually live what I do, maybe God trying to tell me something

I met Mr. Dominic three years ago and at the time I did not know that he was with Guardian Security. I was working with a company that had lost it's account and I did not have any idea how I was going to make ends meet. Mr. Dominic saw something in me that I did not see in myself. I gave him a tour of the building along with the team from Guardian Security. I had the opportunity to meet the field operation manager David Woods and he became my boss after getting an interview with Guardian Security. I have been working for Guardian for more than three years. I have received a raise after being there for only three months and a promotion to a Site Supervisor after being their for only a year. I have a new found family at Guardian, from Marge and Lakeitha the receptionists. Sue, Mr. Bill, Mr. Dominic and Jim. My boss for whom I have much respect, David Woods has shown much understanding and knowledge of the company. He is truly an amazing person and very compassionate about his team members. David goes beyond the call of duty when it comes to the team.

This happened to my wife at their Interlake Mecalux account. I just posted this to Interlace's Google and I doubt anything has been done. Now I will have to arrive with the protesters today. And I hope he's there because I will be looking for him.

Protest for more than no union. Protest for their perverted security guard.

Guardian Security guard Bill Kraft inappropriately touched my girlfriend in the bathroom by the entrance and threatened that he will have management fire her. I don't know what this company practices but I will be with the protesters today and security will be approached.

Called the security company and they act like they don't care. I will make this Live on Facebook today then she will press charges.

Being that she's at work today I'm worried about her safety now. The company sucks anyway with all these horrible reviews. Shut them down.

I have been working Guardian security for 16 months, the last 14 months as site supervisor at a distribution warehouse in Naperville. Once you get over the hump on all the initial expenses and you find a site that you enjoy working at, it s a decent company to for work. Your operational manager will do their best to help find the right site for you. It s a smaller company than the other security companies out there, which is a beneficial to you since they more flexible with you and have better communication channels.

As MANY others have stated, the front desk is extremely rude, that's a major red flag off the bat. I wouldn't want someone with that demeanor to be handling my payroll and W2 at the end of the year. Poor scheduling on the management as interviews were backed up by at least an hour or two based on the amount of people there. In addition the interviewer could be heard from the lobby asking the most generic questions in a condescending manner. Then there is the extremely over priced 400$ fee for cheap uniforms as posted on their small sign tucked in the corner. There are better companies out there and thus I would advise most people to avoid this one.

I want to come at this from a different perspective. I am on Social Security and was looking for a supplemental job for some extra income. At Guardian when interviewed I told them of my availability and how far I was willing to travel each way. I have been in positions no further that 18 miles from my home, some as close as 1 mile. I have been with Guardian for 4 1/2 years and as some have said, yes, you pay for your uniforms up front, taking a amount out of your paycheck every 2 weeks. Once past that your pay can be better than other security companies. I have worked for a few. I am working in the banking division doing banks and credit unions. Sometime they will ask to work different locations within the same division, but if you set your parameters early on as I did, you can get many locations within your desired area. I am 61 on SS and Guardian has let me supplement my income working 2-3 days a week for the last 4 1/2 years and know for a fact that I am making more money than many of the other security companies.

Guardians chain of command is so stupid. I worked with Kyliesha McCall. She has got to be the most stupid person in the world. She is unorganized, and she contradicts herself all the time. She undermines her staff and never listen to her Supervisors. Also manipulates her Supervisors to look down and frown upon the officers. The worst part is, she more concerned about your appearance rather than your work ethic. Overall she's horrible. I would not suggest this place as a career builder.

I worked for Guardian for one year. ( I had to leave for personal reasons) Guardian is very strict on guard appearance. This is a good thing. When you work with the public appearance is everything. Where I presently work some guards show up out of uniform. They have long unwashed hair. Ugly shoes. It is embarrassing to be seen with them! A sloppy appearance is unprofessional.

I have called guardian home for the last 5 years. When I first got called I didn't have much experience so they place me at a few sites to have supervision and learn . After a few months of bouncing around they place me full time at a site that I have been at since 2012. I have worked under great operations mangers, Richer d, koby, now Rick c. I never had a issue with my checks, pto, taking off, or with raises. Ehub was a huge change, Instead of having check stubs mail ehub allows us to download it. I expect the company to keep changing . The military uniform looks good on anyone one of perks I think... Thank you all for 5 good years .

I've never worked for Gaurdian Security . I understand both positive, and negative emotions on how people feel. I was a site supervisor for 2 years at 2 different sites. It's not always about the company. It's what you but in to it. One site I took over was a catastrophe. Tardiness or no call no show because of the past supervisors actions to the other officers. When I took over 1 by 1 I pulled the officer's aside. I told each one of them " I'm an officer just like you ,but I do have a title" . Theres nothing I would ask you to do that I wouldn't do myself. If we had an issue we will talk in private. Yelling ,cussing at one another gets you nowhere. That's what causes employees to be poor workers. I believe in praising each other it builds confidence and trust. Ok. I'm sorry to have rambled on,but it's not always one sided .It takes 2.

I RECENTLY went for an interview. I was interviewed by Jason. The man was more focused on what I had on and me Not having an UPDATED resume. Which Ian was already informed of that. I have all my Credentials. Jason insisted on giving me "PROFESSIONAL CRITICISM" as he worded it. I left the interview feeling soooooo low to the point I wanted to cry. U judging someone who wants to work Not knowing whay theor situation can be. I just received an email from Dominick saying Jasin told him I used profanity in my interview which is by Far a LIE! I WANT TO SPEAK WITH THE OWNER! I'M OVER QUALIFIED AND WOULD LIKE TO SPEAK WITH SOME ONE OVER THEM ABOUT MY EXPERIENCE WITH THIS COMPANY. It seems to look like the company is well put together but the WORKERS IN THE OFFICE ARE VERY UNPROFESSIONAL. IT'S SO SAD HOW THIS ECONOMY WORKS. SAD SAD

Absolutely 0 star for this company. They don't even offer free uniforms and direct deposit to their employees. It's a very cheap company and the room for advancement is none! It's not a coincidence that there are so many bad reviews about them. Poor management, poor benefits, poor future for someone who wants to stay with them. And don't be fooled with these "good" reviews. Guardian Security is definitely not the company where you want to go for employment.

I have to tell you all what happened to me here at guardian security so here it goes....
Well I got done with my security thing got all my certifications PERC card etc and wanted to find a good place to work so my instructor told me about guardian security so I talked to a lady named marge and she told me to come in so we could meet so I did and she was nice and she talked high about the company and I was sold on working for them and the same day I meet AL he was also nice talked high about the company so I was asked to come back on wednesday for orientation so I did and it was all good the lady meet with me and others and talked about the company and she told us that they do security for Coke,Sony and other big companies and I was like wow so after that they give you a picture ID and yes they charge you for it 25 dollars lol I know for a cheap made ID then if you work in the residential area you have to go pick up your uniform downtown yes downtown that same day and they want you to come back to try it on for your ID picture and another thing they make you fill out paperwork before all this to trap you into paying for the uniform and ID so here is the price the uniform cost around 260 dollars and the ID will cost you 25 dollars and that will come out of your paycheck until it's paid off so keep that in mind.Oh yeah here is the best part lol..They don't tell you before the orientation what location you are going to work at lol it's like a big secret so they don't tell you how far it will be or anything until you come back with your uniform and signed all the paperwork they might have you work really far and they look at you like "Is there a problem" so in my case i got a job with them and it was to far for me to go to and plus the train will cost you around 200 so that's money out your check and for the 12 dollars it ain't worth it and so i got a job with guardian and just my luck the train didn't run after a certain time so i worked from 11 pm to 7 am and loved it but had to tell my boss i had to leave because the train messed me up so he told me to call guardian right away after i get off work and i did i left a message for David Woods to call me back right away and nothing so i was mad and later that night i went to work all sad because i had to leave because Metra stopped running after 7 pm as i was on the train i called yet again and had this stupid dispatch guy asking me if i take a bus or get an Uber I was like okay stupid i'm trying to make money not lose any so I left this joke ass company I called the head guy Dominic and told him what had happened and he did nothing so now when i try to see if the company needs people i get the door shut in my face.I left Dominic a message letting him know that i needed a job and the holidays are coming and if he can help me and not once did he return my calls back so one day i went there and seen marge and she acted like she didn't know me and kept walking this place got two stars because you have to give them at least one star to post lol So think about this before going with guardian.

I've had a horrible experience working with Guardian security. The office staff gives the illusion of professionalism, but it's really a temp service. The management promises you during hiring that they are always available through call or email, yet It's almost Impossible possible to ge get in contact with any of the management without a run around. And still nothing. I hate i believed in what they were saying. They have in house human resources so its no real place to complain or address your issues

This is a awesome company to work for. There is plenty of room for you to move up within the company. I have been with the company for six months and I have been made the supervisor at my site. They also offer a great starting pay. My Operations Manager said to me in my interview that "hard work pays off". I can vouch for that. This is a fair company that stands by its word. Give Guardian Security Services a chance and I promise you that you will not regret it.

If you're educated, qualified, and have plenty of experience, they will not hire you, BEWARE! I'm sure it's a great company to work for but they hire people with no education, no experience, and who just got their FOID card for the first time. Why you might ask? To offer them the minimum wage possible : $13, $14/ hour. I'm not bitter, they denied me, it's all good, but they lied to me and went about a different way of telling me why when it was pretty obvious I was 'over-qualified' and worth too much for them. A shame really, bad move on their part, but like I said, it's all good. I will take my skills and talents somewhere else with a better company who hire base on credibility, experience, likeness, and not based on money-saving.

A lot can be said about this company and none of it is good. It's a horrible comany who's only interest is putting money in the poorly ran management team's pockets. I have worked with Guardian Security for 2 years now, being in the security field for over 15 years I must say guardian security value the work that I do. My Operation Manager David Woods truly cares about his officers and will go above and beyond for all of his employee. I made site supervisor in less than 6 months on the job with a raise. I must add Guardian looks for professional and reliable officers, with integrity, so if you don't have those qualities this company is not for you.

Speaking for my experiences with Guardian Security Services (GSS) with the Residential Property Division under the direction of the Operational Manager things have been wonderful and even great. There's an open door policy with management; and they're willing to work with those employees who are willing to help themselves by putting their best foot forward first!

If you are responsible and mature GSS will be an alright company to be associated with as your employer.

" Professionalism matters & Courtesy in customer service gives great presence ".

Worste company too work for in the entire security...

Worste company too work for in the entire security industry. 1st after you make it past the B.S. interview process they make you show up to orientation to sit there in business attire. Later you will change into your uniform. They'll promise you pay that you won't receive.

Speaking of Uniforms you pay for everything out of pocket. The shirts, jacket, alterations, etc. This company is so Cheap they won't reimburse your alteration fees after you quit because they want you to give them back their sewn on patches. Oh and if you don't give them their patches back which are apart of your personal property they illegally threaten your P.E.R.C.

They borderline violate many state and general assembly laws. If they dont they right there on the line. They will make you work 100 days straight if they fail to hire someone which is usually the case. They dont give you a check Stub unless you PROVIDE THEM STAMPS AND ENVELOPES.

The Benefits they offer are a JOKE. You wont be able to afford Insurance here. There is no 401k. They don't fire people even if they break the rules they just send the problem somewhere else. There are no raise opportunities what so ever unless you get promoted but even still you might not see that raise.

Supervisors have no power on there shifts. Site Supervisors dont even have power to do anything.

Stay Away from this company. Theres better companies out there. The reality is in 2 years the mispaid me for 9 months. So there's no telling how much money they owe me.

Last few reviews were clearly written by company representatives to counterbalance the many negative reviews. Is it really a coincidence that all the 5-star reviews mention a David Wood and were written around the exact same time? He's clearly on a massive ego trip where he or one of his cronies must write fake reviews on himself. Horrible company to work for. Poorly managed and highly unprofessional. They are also very judgmental, as other posters have mentioned.

This company is a pure joke among other contract security companies. I went for the interview with Manager Nick at the Blue Island location. My impression was that he judged me based on my appearance not necessarily the experience and skills. This is already a red flag. He was so happy and proud to tell me that Guardian Security doesn't offer free uniforms and I have to pay out of my own pocket to get one. This company offers horrible benefits, no direct deposit and their sites are non-union which means you don't earn any privileges such as double pay for holidays, sick days, personal days, medical insurance etc. I'm so glad that decided to join a different security team not them. My advice for job seekers: Stay away from this garbage company as far as possible!!! They truly deserve 0 star!

I have been employed with Guardian for 6 months now. While the pay is not the greatest, and yes it s true you have to payroll deduct your uniforms and badge, this is not uncommon with many Security Firms. Everyone hired typically interviews well, and looks good on paper. But sadly cannot handle the job once they are assigned. And go on to complain about the company. They are a good company. I have not been denied any needed time off, they have coached me along through me obtaining my armed security credentials, and managed to place me at a site that is 1/2 mile from my home. I m happy with Guardian, and with the right attitude and communication, you could be too.

I LOVE my job with Guardian Security Services. Yes, it is correct that you have to pay for uniforms, however, it does get deducted in increments from future checks. This did not deter me from accepting a position in this firm as I saw a full-time job as a bigger reward. I was placed in a gated community which I absolutely love to come to everyday. Due to Guardian's selective hiring practices, only the best in the industry are hired. This is evident by the fine group of coworkers that I am so lucky to have at my site. These individuals are still with me today. After about one month of employment, I was promoted to Site Supervisor. There is definite room for advancement if you choose to seek it. I have been afforded overtime opportunities as well. I have no complaints.

I have been employed at Guardian for a year. Is Guardian perfect? No, nobody is. But, Guardian far exceeds competing security companies both from the point of view of an employee as well as the clients. To be a Guardian security officer is to be a cut above the average because Guardian interviews something like 9 candidates to hire 1 employee. We're not just warm bodies filling seats, we provide valuable services to the clients in dynamic and critical environments.

The overtime opportunities are plentiful, and there is room for advancement within the company! The starting pay at Guardian for new officers is much better than the competition too. I never have to worry, my paycheck is direct deposited and I can view my paycheck stubs immediately in their convenient "Ehub" app. You can earn vacation days and there is a retirement plan as well.

Seems like an ok company but I do no appreciate their payroll practices whatsoever. At least with Allied, you knew what to expect on payday because the check stub was issued on Mondays, Tuesdays at the latest. Then you get paid on Thursday..or earlier if you used NetSpend or Chime. But because they don't release the stub untill payday, you have no idea whether they have completed processing payroll before actual payday. As far as I know, they don't finish payroll until 11:59pm on Wednesday.. meaning they technically sent it before payday (per their payroll information form that you get during orientation) but I don't get my money until super late on Thursday, or possibly Friday. And of course they are absolved of any liability concerning delays after they send it. It annoys me when companies stress promptness but take their sweet time getting your money to you. Then again, maybe they send the money by Monday or Tuesday but you'd never know until the last minute since again, they do no provide a paystub before the money is sent which is ridiculous since there is no way a check stub is separate from the check. In fact, before direct deposit, they were always together when you get the check in the mail!!!
The lack of payroll transparency is troubling to me, with any company.
