A former alumni of the school here graduated 2012. Ever since the inception of the elementary program, which they were completing at the end of my schooling, there have been multiple planning failures. The biggest failure was the planned expansion for the elementary program to an offsite facility. Before the school received the ok to complete the elementary offsite location they had a mass hiring of elementary teachers, sadly they did not receive the ok, resulting in doubled up teachers in classrooms. One would think "hey, two teachers in a classroom? That would mean more interaction with students and in turn increase student participation and targeted learning.". This however is not the case. I currently have a family member currently learning at guajome, I recently viewed the quizzes and tests that have been given. There were no corrections or explanations on how to solve the problems. This is a major oversight, during my time at guajome I had some of the best teachers for math, science and history. Individuals that I respect and recognize as influential to who I am today. As an alumni, I am incredibly disappointed in the past 4 years of performance at guajome and I feel that the mission statement of the Guajome park academy foundation "The mission and vision of the Guajome Park Academy Foundation is to provide resources, professional expertise, and financial contributions to support Guajome Park Academy's mission to inspire and mentor all learners to become responsible, critical thinking, global leaders through excellence and innovation in education." Has not been fully realized in a school that has prior excellence at developing life-long learners.
This school has been my favorite school in my entire life! I love it because it is a small school and you get really get to know everyone. Aside from the occasional bad teacher, most of the teachers do very well with their job and are very helpful. I have enjoyed my time here since 6th grade and I plan on staying here for the rest of high school.
This is the 3rd year my kids goes there (middle School) and I love the school. There is always room for improvement, but I must say during the last 3 years maybe only 1 teacher didn't care too much, all of the other ones are very dedicated to their work and to help the students. Love i!
Have gone here my whole life and really like it. It's a good environment for students.
I hate this school so much. Because of this school I can't go to the school I really wanted to go to. My mom is forcing me to go this school because she thinks it's about their "academics." She won't let me go to El Camino because of this damn school. And I really don't want to leave all my friends again like I did when I first moved to California. But she did say that if guajome format accept me I can go to EC with my friends. So whoever that works at guajome who can decline me would be great. My name is Chance Frutchey and I'm not trying to go to this little academy. Thank you
Guajome park academySucks. I am sure every one @gpa was forced to be their .and their is fights it's Vista hello!! They can't even have a foot ball team ,they are poor and MRS.odonold is the worst teacher I ever HAD IN MY LIFE!!!!!!!!!!!!!! do not join the basket ball team their coach named coach grarrit. Treated me like garbage because I was a fresh man and benched me in every game.even thought i beat every one of his team one on one.. And too much work at that school you can't be your self at that school.come to smhs #knight pride!
I've been going to this school for four years now, and I have to say my stay is not great. I didn't care about my grades in fifth-grade (my fault). In sixth-grade they put me in a class for people who didn't get their work done or is a trouble maker. It was 6th-8th with a teacher who didn't know what the hell she was doing. Their math classes for kids who don't get algebra in 7th are and was horrible. Got a teacher fresh out of college, 22, with a class full of 35 loud kids who didn't listen to him. Couldn't say anything to stop em. Had a english teacher who taught english for 12 years, but the school ran out of staff. So she moved to room to room, teaching english, science, and history, all to different grade levels. Only a few sport teams. This one kid in 5th grade ran away to mcdonald's, kids bringing a knife to school, and fist fights. I'd say that part is normal for school but whatever. The elementary use to have one room per grade but now they have two. Otherwise it's a good school. It's very small, and you know everyone. The teachers are okay, with a mix of some great teachers or a one bad one. Personally the school is okay, nothing amazing.
Great school! Doing all they can to keep our kids safe and learning.
