A former alumni of the school here graduated 2012. Ever since the inception of the elementary program, which they were completing at the end of my schooling, there have been multiple planning failures. The biggest failure was the planned expansion for the elementary program to an offsite facility. Before the school received the ok to complete the elementary offsite location they had a mass hiring of elementary teachers, sadly they did not receive the ok, resulting in doubled up teachers in classrooms. One would think "hey, two teachers in a classroom? That would mean more interaction with students and in turn increase student participation and targeted learning.". This however is not the case. I currently have a family member currently learning at guajome, I recently viewed the quizzes and tests that have been given. There were no corrections or explanations on how to solve the problems. This is a major oversight, during my time at guajome I had some of the best teachers for math, science and history. Individuals that I respect and recognize as influential to who I am today. As an alumni, I am incredibly disappointed in the past 4 years of performance at guajome and I feel that the mission statement of the Guajome park academy foundation "The mission and vision of the Guajome Park Academy Foundation is to provide resources, professional expertise, and financial contributions to support Guajome Park Academy's mission to inspire and mentor all learners to become responsible, critical thinking, global leaders through excellence and innovation in education." Has not been fully realized in a school that has prior excellence at developing life-long learners.
