The Grover Zampa Vineyards offers an amazing tour ...

The Grover Zampa Vineyards offers an amazing tour of their facility near Nandi Hills, just outside Bangalore. The tour kicks off in batches and is an extensive tour of their facility focusing on the process of wine making, history about wine in India, different Indian wines and of course the wine tasting. The host is extremely knowledgeable and provides great details about not just the facility but also the process and the history of wines. The wine tasting is the highlight of the tour where they showcase their different wines and take you through their flavours and their history. They also offer lunch, which is charged over and above the tour fees but is worth the money you pay for it. Overall a great experience.

Beautiful place. Very well for a small brunch plus good weather kind of outing. Do book in advance. Try grape stomping if you want to check that from your bucketlist. The whole wine making process was good to know and the tank & barrel room was wonderful to look at.

If they had told us about their smaller buffet, we would have booked that (instead of getting our lunch packed). The wines which we tasted were also superb and smooth. Just that the whole wine tasting session was a tad bit rushed.

Overall great for a half day outing.

Great place for a half day adventure. The first vineyard in India and the tour offers a full insight into the wine making process. Vipin Singh was a great host and explained everything in detail. The tasting event helped in understanding the wine more and gave 5 different varieties of wine with cheese and crackles. One point were they can improve is the lunch served afterwards. It had only biriyani and that was not exactly the combination of wine!!

The wine tasting and the way wine is processed was good no complaints about it. The only disappointment was food it was not worth. The pricing was too expensive. I think they need to package it much better.

Decent place for good wine with food. Not a typical vineyard tour, no rolling hills types. Just a nice restaurant with wine shop and wine making in the backyard. Good people. Vineyard is bit away, you have to go on your own and have a look around.

Worst place to visit. We have been trying to reach them over the provided number for the past 3 days but no one answered the call. So today we finally went there. When we reached there the way we were welcomed was like boss please do not come in. The security was not helpful but upon request he called a perape who was standing a little far. This gentleman comes and says that we have viaitivi hours from Mon to Fri. When I asked him as how I can book then he immediately changes that we are open from Mon to Thu and he also says that they have a full day booking (and the funny part was that you could not see a single visitor or any preparation for the kind of booking he was claiming). I even requested him that we have hired a cab and travelled all the way from Bangalore can he adjust 3 people and he simply smiles and said no. So I had to ask him as what else we can do, to which he was very smart and answered that you can buy wine and leave. Man what a service and what great hospitality.....

This is a place to be if you want to witness the entire wine making process. It will approximately cost you Rs 1100/- per person, which will include wine manufacturing process and tour, bare foot grape stomping and wine tasting for 6 wines. They have 2 tours on weekends, if I remember correctly first tour is at 10:30am and second one is at 1:30pm, though not sure about the exact timings.
You will also get 10 discount if you buy wine from their store there.
A restaurant is also there but it was not opened at the time we visited this place, so can't comment on that.
There are some well maintained gardens and outdoor sitting area if you want to relax.
If you are a wine person, you can visit it once. Also, you can cover this place, if you planning to go to Nandi Hills on your way back to Bangalore.

Great ambiance and beautiful scenery. Very limited choices for vegetarians. Overbooked, if you are not fast at food counter, got to wait for sometime. Five types of wines are given to taste, that hardly comes to one full sip. Wine tasting is done in one glass, ideally should be two glasses, one for white wine and the other for red wine. Ladies toilet door just adjusent to gents toilet door, very inconvenient.

I visited on Monday, it seems there were no people so they couldn't provide us lunch and stamping grapes but they took full amount of entrance fee. I still have a thought of why did I pay so much for so little. Please visit only on weekends plus with majority of your friends.

The guide was friendly and the tour lasted about 2 hours including the wine tasting session, which was fun. Lunch was not available as per the package and instead we were offered grape stomping which was again a different experience. We have a boutique from where we can get wine bottles. The vineyard is a little away from the office area. Harvest is Between jan-mar and hence we did not see the grapes nor could we see the crushing and pressing process. There are hardly any restaurants on the way. Over all it was a good day spent.

Not worth the 1000Rs + tax. There was no lunch, just winery tour and wine tasting of 6 wines. For Vineyard visit, they just informed us a rough location, we drove for a bit, couldn't find it and left the place. It would have been just OK for 500Rs. Grover really needs to be more professional about their tour or just don't do it till the time they make proper arrangements.

Describing my experience about your wine ( GroveR:...

Describing my experience about your wine ( GroveR: Selecte Cabernet Shiraz) Batch NO: 15-41, B.R No: 325: My experience of tasting this wine was horrible. I have never savored such a bad wine in my life. The moment I had tasted this wine I was thought of writing this review because never cheat any of your customer by giving something else by mentioning wine on the package design. As far as I am concern, am so passionate in wine making , I know what would be the real taste of wine made from "Cabernet Shiraz" variety grapes. If a customer who tasted your wine first time in his life then he would never think wine is a bottled poetry, instead he would definitely think wine is a bottled Sh***t.

1. Prior bookin online is a must. Which is not mentioned anywhere. Otherwise if u're driving that far it's a waste of time.
2. Starting time (Saturday) is 10.30am. and not 9.
3. It's not a vineyard. It's a winery.

While the tour was great and and the sommelier was knowledgeable, the food was terrible and the servers' gloves were really unhygienic.
Our experience would have been better if we were told that the grape stomping is not included in the tour fee and is an over and above charge.

Firstly the entrance fee Rs.1180, bit on steep side but being first time in a winery, I enjoyed the information and the process of manufacturing wine. The tour includes six wine tastings, grape stomping and the vineyard. The place is chill and has some great ambiance near reception. One more thing, 10 pc discount on all wines.. Six wines you get to taste ranging from sparkling wine, white wine, Rose wine and Red wine. Grape stomping ends it on a fun note.

These are the worst kind of People you will ever meet. I made arrangements over the phone to take my wife and I to this so called Vinyard on Valentines Day. I confirmed it over the phone a week in advance and drove out that morning to be there by 10:30am.

Upon arrival, I was barred at the gate and told that I could not come in and my name was not on the reservation. I had driven around 2 hours to get to their Nandi Hills location and I had to drive another 2 hours to return to the city. On the way back. I called the idiot at the Vinyard to find out why he had seen it fit to ruin mine and my wife's first Valentines day together. The mentally deficient moron said that he had called me at 9:30 (while I was driving and could not take calls) and since I didn't pick up he had cancelled my reservation. He then had the gall to tell me "You should have at least called, no" and proceeded to berate me.

These people are the worst kind of idiots and I fear for their customers. Please don't drink their wine.. if they can't master the art of making a reservation... I doubt they are capable of safely fermenting grapes or any other kind of fruit. These people are pathetic morons. Stay away and drink a safe and happy cup of wine from anyone else.

Have been here for Valentines day celebration expecting great evening, driving more than 1.5 hours and didn't have good time at all. Food is worst with very less options and for the price they can do it better. They only looked for saving money. Not good arrangements, Will never prefer to go again.

It was extremely disappointing that we tried to call them since yesterday evening and no one answered. We took our chances and went there only to be told be the guard that the place is closed because of some local elections. The least they can do is to update correct and responsive numbers on Google and other common places where people would look up ways to contact them. If I ever go there, I may add an update to this review, but as of now, definitely no more than 1 star for them

Price per head with grape stomping 1000+GST (1180), without 650+GST (767). Booking thru Cleartrip for weekdays can get you some discount.

Plus - Knowledgeable and friendly staff. Wine bottling and barrel facility visit. Wine tasting is good. You can visit vineyard.

Minus - No lunch facility. Disount on wine only 10%, that is low given they have recently increased price on many wine by close to 20%.

Visited winery on June 07th. This place is an winery and not an vineyard. Their vineyard is close by. Staff were courteous. Since I am not a wine fanatic, I cannot really comment on the quality of wine. Lunch. Is included as part of tasting and is very average.

One time thing. Good option for weekend getaway.I went for 1:30 pm slot. They attended us from 2:00-4:30 pm. There is a guide during this whole time who will be giving you a brief idea of the whole process of wine making.
Pros:
1. They give you 5 varieties of wine during wine tasting
2. You are really gonna enjoy grape stomping.
Cons:
1. They charge Rs 1100 + taxes which I feel is a bit expensive because we were not provided with any lunch.
2. My biggest disappointment is they didn't take us to the grape vineyard instead played a video of their vineyard which is somewhere in Nagpur.

Not a value for money place. They charge 1000 for lunch and 1000 for tour and a 18% tax on top of it.

I chose a 12.30pm slot which included lunch and the tour. Tour started at 2.pm.

The lunch menu is very limited and not worth the money. Desserts mentioned browny and icecream but later served fruit salad and vanilla icecream that too at 1.45pm saying that menu is unfortunately changed.
Ppl expecting indian food please avoid.

The best part of the tour was the grape stomping. Other than that the vineyard is about 1.6 km away from the venue so you should go on your own with google maps after the tour ends. No one will accompany you to tell you about it.

Would suggest going for the tour alone and save your money on the food and eat out.

The overall visit is good as one learns about wine making and in the end gets to taste six varieties of wine . But, it would be better if they improve the quality and quantity of food served as well. The food served was cold and not upto the mark .

Not much to do post wine tasting. The vineyards are not in the campus and you need to drive to that place separately.

Place to definitely give a try once. Road to the place is also quite smooth so road trip with friends will be fun. Every day there are two rounds of tour that happens. Better to call the incharge and book the slot in advance over the phone itself. The tour will take you through the entire wine making process, the fermentation, the barrels and all. Also, lunch and wine tasting is part of the tour. The staff too is quite friendly in nature. Overall a delightful experience.

Visiting hours on GOOG map is not accurate (not sure what the source was). Swung by here after visiting Nandi Hill around 5:00 PM thinking we still have an hour before close. We were told at the gate that the place locks down at 4:30 PM. Was looking forward trying some local wines but ended up driving back disappointed. Would try again in future. Salud!

Fantastic visit! We had a very informative and fun tour of the wine estate and learned a lot about how the wine is made :) After that, we had a tasting of 6 different wines - which were great to try! We definitely bought a bottle in the boutique to have at home afterwards :)

We visited the vineyard and the winery on 20th of January 2017. Didn't know you have to book the tour in advance but people at reception were very accommodating and arranged the tour. Salman was our guide who won our hearts with his elaborate explanations about the different types of wines and how to grade them. The demonstration was very good and personalised. We have been to Napa valley in USA ,Australia and whisky trail at Scotland but the quality of guided tour by Salman surpassed them all. Thank you Salman. I would highly recommend this to be your part of itenary in Banglore. We would love to visit again.

A weekend getaway from Bangalore, it's good for wine enthusiasts. They have two slots a day, if possible book the same prior to reaching there. It's a beautiful lush green property, with ample space to sit and sip a glass of wine.
Wine tasting was a great experience. More than just the wine, you get to see the entire process from segregation of grapes to fermentation to final distillation. It was a good experience, worth a try if you have interest in wine, more about how and what.

Highlights:

Highlights:
1. Wine tasting was the best part if you have a palate for wine. Lots of learning and great experience under the guidance of a professional winemaker. 6 wines were offered during the tasting.
2. Folks out there are very courteous and professional. It s a well managed affair with a neat ambience considering that it actually is a factory where wine is made and they are workers and office staff moving around and working and shifting material.

Lowlights:
1. Food isn t particularly tasty. Variety is less for the cost and mostly is bland - partially pairing up with their wine. The food itself is well prepared and hygienic but lacked flavour and spice. Will not suit groups who expect biriyani or sambar rice for lunch.
2. Wine tour isn t much of a tour than just a view of their machines, bottling plant and the fermentation casks. I would keep the feedback on wine tasting part separate from the wine tour itself. Also, there is no vineyard in their property. They said we need to travel half a kilometre outside their area to see how grapes are grown.
3. No particular discount on their wines. I would rather get a free bottle in a 1+1 offer from a local store near my home during festival season than get a 20/- discount that they are giving on a wine that costs 800/-

Overall - please go only if your group is truly interested in learning more on how to enjoy the taste of wine cos that s the real highlight. No point going there just to spend half a day thinking it s a fun place, cos it s not.

June 2019 - The place is good and so is Grover wines. Not a great time to take a tour though. For some reason, they have replaced the tour guide with a weirdo who keep rotating around things with half-baked knowledge and his attitude for 'poor Indians' would make you want to quit wines. The restaurant is also closed. Some other year maybe, meh.

The winery tour was excellent. Our guide Harish, took us through the various stages of product and explained the process in detail. He was extremely helpful in answering questions. The wine tasting was the best part. He gave us the background of each wine. The only disappointment was the lunch. Chicken biryani doesn't really pair well with wine. Save the lunch, the entire experience was good.

A beautiful vineyard with a very relaxed Atmosphere. There is wine tour available where the guide will take you through the factory to show And explain the process of wine making.
Then it is followed by wine tasting at least 6 different types(3 sparkling & 3 red).
Post this there is grape stomping and lunch.
The rates are very reasonable and a must try in Bangalore.
One can also visit the vineyard which is close by.
FYI, the restaurant is currently under Renovation and the food that is outsourced is good as well.
