Only 1 gluten free option on the menu and they had run out of it when we were there. Lots of traditional dishes to try if you can eat gluten. My partner enjoyed the horse sausage. The building is quite nice and the hams hanging from the ceiling are a nice touch.

Big thanks for your kind treatment even we didn't consume anything..
We were in the market waiting for the family, the temperature outside was only 0-3 ,the staff invited us to come in for some warm rest and gave some sweets to my kids..
It was the best moment in Ghent.

I would give it 5 stars if the service was better. The food was delicious. It is in the historic building where all the meats were sold. They have menus in multiple languages but not all the staff speak those languages. When we picked items off the English menu, the waiter needed to grab a local menu to understand what it was. Special ordering like "hold this" or no continents can be challenging depending on the wait staff's language skills. Took even longer to pay than order.

Awesome hall setting, pretty interesting selection of meats, we only had a small sausage tasting and warm ham Flemish style. It was a pretty dark and cold day, so I think in a sunny summer day the place would be really lively

The place is very historic and cool. I came around 230pm when it was still open for lunch but people were more focused on cleaning up and I felt like I was in the way almost. I ha the Waterzooi which was objectively a great meal - very delicious and balanced. Chicken pieces were tender and the vegetables were fresh.
