Sister delivered first baby here. The OB nurses were very helpful and friendly. The nurse manager was not very friendly and acted bothered when asked for help which made us all feel uncomfortable. Aside from her the staff was wonderful and made the overall experience a good one.
Very terrible experience. I need the hospital to send my medical records to insurance company. However, the hospital kept stalling. It s now a year and I still didn t get it.
The new dermatologist Linda Schilling is absolutely rude and doesn't listen to your concerns, I would not recommend her to anybody! I'm only giving one star because this is the minimum I'm allowed otherwise, it would be NO star. I don't see why UnityPoint would want a person like this in their facility, I hope you don't start losing patients because of her, there are other bad reviews on her around Iowa because she travels to other facilities also, I learned shes not an actual dermatologist, she is only a nurse practitioner. BE AWARE!
What a joke. Emergency room has done more than the rest of the place. No one here will look at my injury. If I ever get hurt again, I would rather drive bleeding all the way to a different hospital just because after care and instructions isn't provided.
Very bad business savvy, I was supposed be have a procedure and drove almost 4 hours to have it done all to find out that they couldn t do it because they didn t want to take my family doctor s word that I don t have any heart issues just because my father does..... but from looking at the reviews looks like I shouldn t have been surprised by their treatment
Don't ever work in the housekeeping department at Unity Point Health Grinnell. The housekeeping supervisor plays favorites and doesn't treat all of her employees fairly. I was constantly being bullied by the housekeeping supervisor and my coworkers. My attendance was good and I did a good job cleaning the area I was in charge of. Unfortunately, none of that mattered when it was all said and done. Do yourself a favor and don't work in the housekeeping department at Unity Point Health Grinnell.
I had my third baby here. So much difference between the care here and the care you receive from bigger hospitals. The nurses were all so attentive and caring. They never made me feel like a burden and never hesitated to go above and beyond for me, making sure I always had water, heating pads, and whatever else I may need. So friendly. This experience was far better than my other two deliveries at another hospital. I could not recommend their OB department more. If you are looking for a place to have a baby, you will definitely be in good hands here. So happy with my stay. Thank you!
I go through the admission department weekly.The receptionist can't hear very well. Maybe she should find a different department.
So injured my knee at local swimming pool, came to get it looked at. Was told by the nurse to either stop swearing (because I was in pain) or leave. Same nurse had a trainee underneath her trying to get a knee immobilizer on my leg and get trying to make it work without reading the instructions.
Very unprofessional. Thank god my leg isn't broken.
DO NOT GO HERE! I went in for a simple preventative care procedure, covered 100% by my insurance but yet I got a bill for $1,500 because someone mistakenly marked it as diagnostic instead of preventative. I've called my Dr, who says I just need to call Grinnell and have them fix it and run it back through.
But I've called and talked to anyone who will isten; the hospital, billing, the surgeon, etc, left voicemail after voicemail and they will not return my calls or fix their error. I thought they had, since I went a few months without receiving a bill, but then I got a call from a collection agency over it.
I've messaged the Iowa Attorney General and am currently gathering information to prepare to have this litigated. Someone needs to be held accountable. I've called and left far too many messages for this to be an oversight. They either do not care, are incompetent, or stand to profit from this somehow. Whatever the reason, they will not correct their mistake.
