We forgot to put out our bin on time (completely our fault!) but as it was very full, I got on to Greyhound to see if we could arrange for an ad hoc collection. I spoke to Nick via the webchat (which was very handy!) and he arranged for a collection two days later! Brilliant service, very professional - I would highly recommend!

Be careful with this company! They will charge you for any occasion. Even if you will make a decision to cancel contact they will take your deposit + 40 extra. Not recommended to anyone.
I thought no one could beat Eir as the absolute worst utility company but it's fair to say Greyhound are on par with them. They are the worst by a mile out of the 4 waste companies I've used in Dublin.
Collections have been consistently missed to the point where there are more missed collections than actual ones. Their Customer Support, while friendly, is absolutely useless. With every missed collection I would be assured that they would check with their Logistics department. They would then never get back to me, I would have to wait until the next collection date, and meanwhile the bags would have been out for days and animals would spill out their contents.
If a company can be called be mentally abusive, Greyhound would be exactly that. There is nothing worse than going home not knowing whether your waste would be collected, then having to spend an immense amount of time during your working hours on the phone explaining the same thing over and over again fully knowing that your problem won't be resolved again. Nothing award-winning about that.
Update: Even their response to this review is beyond ridiculous. How can you be 'surprised' after I've called your Customer Support more than 10 times and filed many many complaints? If you were genuinely interested in my problems this review would have never been written. Your comment is just for the sake of publicity and looking good and nothing more.

The 'Chat on line' was very helpful and answered all of my questions. The reason why I went to the chat on line is because I had a little difficulty trying to get the breakdown of the cost of Black Bin, Brown Bin and Green Bin and it wasn't clear if there was an annual charge on your website. Maybe you could make it a bit easier to get this information please.
Very poor service provided, I need to call them very often to inform my bin was not collected, mainly the brown and recycled bins. Surprisingly and weird for a awarded recycling company???
Solutions are not always the most suitable from a customer perspective. Poor customer support.

Greyhound failed to remove the bins at the previous tenants requests, so they gave up. So when I moved in, I thought it would make sense to sign up with Greyhound. Asked collection days to them 3 times, no response per mail & webform. So signed up elsewhere. Been trying to get them to remove the bins now for a month. Chat support is super friendly, but even after a fixed date it would be collected: nothing. Why is this so difficult?

Called to cancel the account as I've moved home and the staff on smcustomer service were very rude and kept speaking over me. They would also not give back my deposit which I thiught I was entitled to when I moved out.

I was about to leave them as person who opened my account never gave all information neither the person i spoke on call today. Came on chat , VJ the man was really helpful explain me how payments cycle work and also assured return collection and future information for my account. Excellent service by him to stay with Greyhound. Very pleasant person and very understanding.
I think this is a good company. They go above and beyond for their customers and take customer feedback very seriously. Any time i have emailed them with issues they call me straight away the next day to sort out the issue. Would recommend I was in arrears and they did not collect my bins so i emailed in and the next day a lovely girl called me and told me if I cleared the arrears they would arrange a special collection just for me that Saturday and they did! Very fair i feel.

What a bad servise you are providing !! I have been trying to get my account stamens for 10 days end nobody helps me. I request 5 days ago to send me my email address then yesterday a girl called me end she said'' we do not provide account statements via email'' need to download app to see it. I downloaded today but there is no statements on your apps. I connected today your chat services one of your agent name Victor told me that we do not send it end he send me the my account SS which is including my name surname. I sent him your web page link which is explain how to request account stamens then because I proofed that he is lying he just push back end did not want me to send my account statements. Are you guys really serious ? I can not get my own account statements because your customer representative do not want ? Why i can no see past payment end charges ?

Customer cate non existant. Rang three times totalling 29mins. My head banging from the music. Is this a deliberate chose of tune to make so called valued customers hang up. Believe me it works. Very unprofessional.
For the third time, our bin has been forgotten about and not collected. Customer agents promise to come to have the forgotten bins emptied- nothing happens. Our bins are carefully sorted and out every night before the morning of collection and still they are not picked up. Our compost bin will in the summer heat for two more weeks. Ridiculous hassle.
UPDATE: two weeks later and our bin has still not been collected. Customer service has been woeful. Promises to resolve the issue have come to nothing and we have been told again and again that there will be an inquiry. There's been none. Greyhound, I would be happy to explain the issue if you would leave a contact for us that will actually look into the matter. We need a resolution in some shape or form. Of all the bins not to be collected, compost is easily the worst. We are just asking for basic customer service. Ready when you are willing to professionally engage with that request.

Twice brown bin never collected told it wasn t put out but I can see it outside my window! Also have cctv on my house that proves it indeed has been. 3rd time lucky not so lucky on Friday it was collected well half collected the bin men left it with a bin bag hanging out and the lid open.
I rang Friday they said they would come Monday again to empty it it is now 4pm Monday and still hasn t been emptied. It is really not a bin you want not emptied to be honest it absolutely stinks now.

Greyhound were fantastic and quick, i contacted them through their live chat to replace my bins that some local kids have stolen. They responded very quickly and were very understanding.

Awful customer service and very ignorant and verbally aggressive driver. Ordered a skip and paid an additional charge for removal of a mattress. The driver phoned my wife and shouted on the phone that he was not removing the skip as there was a mattress in it. when my wife explained that we paid extra he changed his tune and said that there was too much in the skip, although it was considerably less full than previous two skips we had collected in recent years. The manager told my wife to remove an item or two and it will be collected but the driver had left and c ant return today.

I am currently with other Household Recycling Provider. I find my monthly charges are increasing even though i am really making an effort with what we are disposing and recycling. I searched around and found that Greyhound were the most help and best value. the live chat is a excellent service. All questions answered in a promptly manner.

I contacted Greyhound's Loyalty Team to see if there were alternative suitable plans to my current plan. I spoke to Samuel. He was very good in that he explained the options clearly to me, what would happen re the remainder of the annual service charge and the credit balance on my account. He suggested the best value plan given the number of times I put the bins out and the weights of the bins. He was a pleasure to talk to. Switching plans easy and straightforward. Top marks to Samuel.
When I checked my plan, I noticed the requested switch hadn't been actioned. So I chatted with Alan. I explained the issue to him. He checked the notes on the account and said he'd get the request actioned. True to his word, the request was actioned within 10 minutes. I also received a call from Sam. He was very apologetic and sorry he didn't action the request earlier. I was very happy with both Alan and Sam today. Glad I'm with Greyhound.
Best waste/recycling collection in the country as far as I'm concerned. Great prices, bins always collected - and the best customer service - I have needed to use the 'chat' facility a few times, there is always a VERY responsive agent there to help out - they reply within seconds to help with your query. Highly recommend them.

I've been with Greyhound for years now and have always found it to be a satisfactory and reliable service. Any small queries I've had have been dealt with promptly. Access to my road is often very difficult but they really do their best to deliver the service.
Third week on lockdown just had Easter last weekend obviously extra cardboard/packaging etc I put out 2 clear bags with my green bin,the bin was emptied and I watched the greyhound staff kick the two bags closer to the wall then put the empty bin in front of them fair play to him clearly hates his job and has not been told to take any extra recycling people might have,now I ve two weeks before it s taken again and bin is half full. Unbelievably frustrating
They made few wierd mistakes , like not collecting despite it was paid...but in the end they fix it ...so overall

Very satisfied with the service from Greyhound. They collect bins in all conditions and even call again later in the day if there is an issue accessing our street. Customer service has been excellent on the couple of occasions I have been in touch.
Hi, my bin wasn't collected today due to my account having gone into the debit by a very small amount. I have been very busy and missed this. I used the chat function to let Greyhound know and they have agreed to collect my bin in three days time so I don't have wait another 2 weeks. I thought this was excellent customer service and I feel being a longterm customer was acknowledged.
Needed to change my email address. Completed the task quickly and efficiently with Greyhounds on-line chat.

VJ is very good in giving me pertinent information regarding the things that I asked to him.
Racing around estate next to the primary school at starting time of school, beeped at a car that was parking to bring child to school then sped off. Kids all around, cars trying to drop kids off. Get out of the estates with schools at crucial times. Informed by email and also notified council.

This review is based on me contacting customer service and receiving what I call very poor customer service.
We left our black and brown bin out for collection. The greyhound worker walked straight by the bin and did not empty it. (as seen on my cctv)
My partner called customer service and she was spoken down to and said it would be emptied over the next few days.
I called customer service and made a complaint against the the person who spoke down to my partner and I also asked for a call back from a manager which never took place.
The bin got emptied that day as they emptied the brown bin into the general waste truck. Overall very disappointed by not surprised by this level of customer service from greyhound.
I have heard multiple stories from other colleagues, friends etc.

Something they will hide in extensive Terms and Conditions (on their site - not communicated to you) is that you have to give 2 months notice to terminate your 12 month contract but that it will come with a 40 charge. What they also don't tell you is that if you don't terminate within 7 days of the anniversary of your 12 month contract, then you are entered back into another 12 month contract, every year! Then if you terminate during the new contract, you get charged a pick up and clean fee of another 40. Basically people try and leave so much that they have a specialised cancellation team to call you and tell you about the extra money you'll be paying for trying to go to another provider because of the super poor service you'll receive from them. They will also tell you that they communicated all this to you even when you are showing that you were never sent imaginary welcome packs or a communication of contract expiry and auto refresh. You'll be sent calendars for bin collections that are not for your address so when you leave your bin out, it won't be collected as it's the wrong colour bin. You should then expect to call the contact centre and have someone scoff at you for being so stupid to follow a calendar that was posted to you, that you should have logged into their site and used that information instead.
The amount of times ive had to call them because my bins weren't picked up, to have them tell you to 'leave it outside - we will arrange a special collection' (which never comes), coupled with the fact that their contact centre staff couldn't care less, with these extra surprise charges, makes me wish I had just used the recycling and waste centre near my home. Avoid at all costs.
I have read these 5 star reviews and i am wondering to myself -who goes into Google and says that they are in ecstacy over their bin collection? That they have never seen and felt such a warmth and affiliation to a waste company....? Seems suspect to me
Every and any issue that I had with Greyhound in the past, whether it was related to collection or payments, was always resolved very fast and in a professional way. I really like the fact that I can always see what, when and by whom was collected and how much was charged. I would definitely recommend their services.
Please do not order a skip from this company. They advertise a cheaper skip than most other companies but then proceed to charge you a fee for what they tell you is an overweight skip on there word alone. You have no recourse to this situation as they just take the charge from your account regardless..total scam

Very poor service experienced so far, signed up for the micro plan as its just two of us in a small home and we lack appropriate space for bin storage. Brown bin was fine but the other bins delivered were massive, far to big for what the plan advised, this should be stated in the plan if this is on purpose. Also discovered that there is another plan, Eco.. Which was not advertised on your site.
We had to pay an additional free for bin replacement, we were told to expect delivery in 2-3 days. Its now been two weeks and many phone calls later to get this issue sorted.
Received a text tonight at 8pm that someone will 'ATTEMPT ' to deliver tomorrow at 6am, that they need to be emptied for collection. This meant we had to manually empty the bins in our home in the hopes that someone may on the off chance actually perform their job as expected.
What other profession provides a service in which this is considered acceptable, I'd really like to know!

Customer service (chat support) very helpful. Only thing to point out is the lowbalance email sent out on Friday with a positive balance but when bin man collecting it is showing negative (uncollected) but the support sort it out for special collection hope this will be done otherwise I will rate this as 1*
Very bad service.
The truck reversed back in my estate on friday and drove back without lifting my green bin. Informed the office,they said they will do it next Tuesday.
Then Thursday they came and they lift the black bin instead and left my green bin untouched.
I received complaint from the management company where I I leave as my bin was blown by the strong wind and all the trash was on the road.
Forget about the brown bin I think they don't collect brown bin anymore!!!!!

Took my bins this morning, 7th January, when I gave them notice that I would be closing my account on January 21st, and would require my bins to be taken then. I have paid my service fee up to the end of January 2021.
I can't believe the lack of joined-up thinking . What do I do now for the next two weeks?

I contacted VJ this morning regarding my on their live chat. I was very happy with the service he was so helpful and sorted my issue. I will definitely us this again. Fast and efficient.
The deal we have is that I pay them and they collect the bins. So far this is working out. Quite expensive but very convenient.
Overall a poor service, account charged but bins not collected. Invisible subscriptions that cannot be found anywhere on their website or my account. Will be going out of my way to avoid in the future.

Funny, my green bin hasn't been collected since last month. I 've been contacting the company since then (Including today - 3x)... The attendants never helps, are rude and just hang up in my face. Also, I 've requested all the previous records from the contacts that I made and none provided to me. I wouldn't recommend this company ever at all!
Worst company I had the displeasure to deal with. Run away from problems, do not hire this company. Terrible service rendered, the worst Customer Service quality and you have difficulty even to end the contract. The cheap could be expensive, choose a better company!
