We hired Greenline Design (specifically Hugh) to do some work on our property for clearing, grading, and putting in some stone steps, sod and a pea gravel path. The design, clearing, steps and pea gravel path looked great. The construction crew randomly showing up one morning with no warning, notification or contract the starting was not good.
The sod, however, was even worse. From the moment they unloaded it from the truck and moved it to the back of the property on the skid steer I could see that the dirt on the sod was dry and brittle - a sure sign that the sod will struggle. We then went to look at it and noticed that the grading was not level enough for the sod to sit flat against the dirt and thus unable to take root. They also didn't put down any additional soil or fertilizer to help the sod settle in. Sure enough, within two weeks, and following the landscape crews instructions to, "...water the heck out of it" (2x daily for 20 minutes in July and August) the sod turned brown and moved to sod heaven. Now we have a pile of dead sod in our backyard. What makes this worse, and is the reason I'm writing a review, is the reaction from Greenline and their sub-contractor Tim Johnson Landscaping has been what I wouldn't expect.
1) Initially they accused me of completely shutting the irrigation system off and that was the reason the sod died.
2) They came to look at the sod and said I had over-watered. Quite puzzling since literally minutes earlier they accused me of under-watering.
3) At this point it has been at minimum of three weeks since we have heard from Greenline regarding our complaint.
Given our experience I would not recommend Green Line since they will take your money and then disappear if you have questions.
