I would like to review the SCVRH ER and their Outpatient Physical Therapy Dept. I went to the ER on 5/30/21 for a leg injury. There was no one in the waiting room and I was seen right away. I got xrays and a diagnosis of a broken tibia, given a full leg brace and crutches, and was out within a half hour. My experiences with this hospital have always been excellent, and I appreciate the convenient location near where I live.
I have also just completed 10 visits in their Outpatient Physical Therapy Dept at the hospital complex. My experience there has also been excellent. Dan Johnson, the Managing PT, has been so helpful with my recovery. He is caring and considerate, and very knowledgeable in PT. With the combination of manual, physical, and ice therapies, I have vastly improved my range of motion and mobility in my 10 visits. I would highly recommend this Physical Therapy Department. My nurse who administers a monoclonal antibody infusion , Mandy , was fantastic!! I would highly recommend the hospital!
Had a great experience!!! Went in to get surgery and I had Kelly as my RN and she was the best! Very nice, very informative, attentive and caring. She did an amazing job we need more people like her! But overall experience surgical team was great thank you! And definitely recommend it!
The last place you would expect to find a soup that is absolutely delicious is a hospital!..but let me tell you that today I had an enchilada soup that was just fantastic!!..I congratulated the hostess on the taste and quality of the soup and she brought out the chef (Karenm A.) to share the recipe!! Unheard-of!! I'm positive everything else in the menu is of equal quality!! Highly recommended!!
I recently had to try to get my cousin a monoclonal antibody treatment for COVID on short notice. To my surprise, SCVRH was one of the two hospitals in the Tucson area to provide them. Kudos to our regional hospital! Once we had the referral, the scheduling staff at the hospital worked very quickly to obtain information from her PCP and get her scheduled promptly as she only had two days to get the treatment and be within the 10 day window for the infusion to be effective. Mandy, the nurse who administered the infusion, even came in on a Saturday so my cousin could get her treatment in time. All in all, this was the most pleasant and professional experiences I have had in any hospital. And my cousin is quickly recovering! Thank you SCVRH from the bottom of my heart.
I went in for an animal bite on my fingerAnd was seen quickly and got my finger stitched up and gluedBut when I was released I was only allowed one pain pillAnd no antibioticsI felt that this injuryDefinitely needed some antibioticsAnd asked if I could have a prescription for antibiotics I was told I had to come back to the hospital which I didAnd I was told to sit down and someone will be with me after waiting for an hour and a half they had no idea that I was waitingAnd wouldn't give me a prescription for antibioticsAnd wouldn't give me a prescription for antibiotics orPain pillsSo since I had to
I have been to Santa Cruz Valley Hospital a few times and have never had any problems. Always nice and friendly. I was set up to have my first surgery ever by DR. Gollapalli he explained everything to me and knowing that I was nervous insured me everything was going to be fine.
Arriving at the Hospital and in these times being dropped off was crazy but I was going to go through this. The Surgery team of two Jamie's,Joan,Alexa, Laura,Mandy,Valirie, Mandy,Alana,Ruio and DR Gollapalli were the best anyone could have asked for from the beginning nothing but the best.
About four hours later and not having a clue I was awake and I believe it was Jamie and DR. Gollapalli were setting me up to come home to recover.
Three weeks later I am doing great and would highly recommend this Hospital and team.
Thanks Santa Cruz Valley.
I was admitted on 23rd of January 2021 after testing positive for Covid. I was released on the 24th. I found the medical staff professional and informative. I would have rated it a 5 except for how my release was handled. Staff seemed confused. No one new what time or what I would need when I got home. The actual process of leaving was really bad. A lady came into my room and gathered up my belongings in a bag. Then she put me in a wheelchair. I had to take home a large oxygen concentrator. So she tried to push the oxygen concentrator with one hand and my wheelchair with her other hand. I told her to just push the concentrator, and I would push the wheelchair. We went by staff members and no one volunteered to help. Finally we reached exit and man at exit helped. He carried concentrator to my car. The hospital should have a checklist procedure. Patients should know at least an hour in advance. Enough staff should be available to safely and comfortably help to patients leave.
