This was my first visit to Green Top Hunt Fish. Love this place. I have recently gotten into flyfishing and they have a great selection, plus great customer service. I needed fly line and backing put on my reel, was given several options after I explained what type of fishing I was doing. Can't wait to get back there.

Great place to browse around. Awesome large,extensive selection of guns and accessories including ammo. Good selection in other departments as well. To me it a bit to expensive but it's great to be able to physically see and touch the items of interest.

Two things I liked: the place itself and the staff. Lots of great selection of guns, and friendly/helpful staff. Everyone in there was nice and were knowledgable in the products. Definitely coming back here for my next gun purchase.

Looking for ammo, picked over cleaner than a carcass in the desert.

It's a nice store where you get to put your hands on a lot of merchandise before buying, like scopes, binoculars, firearms, archery equipment and just about everything else. Their customer service is also pretty good; not nearly as knowledgeable as they used to be in the smaller store and nowhere near as friendly, but there are plenty of them around and they usually try to help. The low rating comes from the prices in comparison to the way they used to be. You would think as one of the largest, if not the largest firearm dealer in the mid-atlantic area, their prices would reflect that of a high-volume business, but they don't. If you shop around, you can find the exact same models elsewhere cheaper and Green Top seems to no longer price match. Their other products are equally as high and are now pretty much in line with Bass Pro Shops.

Good, knowledgeable staff, lots of inventory, prices are average to good.

A little pricey but great service and knowledgeable staff. I drive 50 miles to visit Green Top and it is worth it.

Ok place to shop.some of the employees only some always look like they hate everything mean looking bad tones when asking a question. But some of the employees are awesome! They know who they are.

It's ok they seem to have higher prices than other stores. I emailed them about a rifle I wanted to order and never heard from them. I emailed Bass pro shop and heard back in less than an hour ordered rifle had it in two days. I don't know if Pat Hopkins still has anything to do with them or not but used to get great service when I dealt with him.

Everyone knows Green Top is the place to go for your hunting and fishing needs but today I learned just how incredibly helpful and knowledgeable Ryan is in their grill department. This morning (the day before the Superbowl) I took my Traeger up to Ryan because the auger was not dropping pellets. I had tinkered with it but no success. Just five hours later I received a phone call from Ryan telling me he had figured out the problem and it was ready to be picked up! I was thrilled as I did not think I would have my grill back before the big game. Thanks again for your help Ryan, i will be singing your praises for a long time to come.

Great place to shop for Sporting Goods guns but never has any Flyers to hand out for sales

Yesterday I went to green top and told the sales guy that I wanted to say the Smith and Wesson 380 easy because that is what my shooting instructor said would be best because I m a female. He was very nice and I checked it out and liked it and told him that I was going to come back in the morning with my mother and we were both going to get one. She was also in the shooting class with me. I go back today and have a different sales guy he was very nice and tell him the same thing, that we would like to look at the 380 ez and each want to get one. He tells me they only have one left in stock, which is fine so I ll let my mom get it. Her drivers license does not have her current address on it because when you move and change your address with DMV they do not send you a new ID. Because of this they would not sell the gun to her- even though her concealed carry permit had her new address on it. Same county. Which is fine rules are rules. However, now that she s not able to buy it and it they have only that one in stock, I want to buy it. But there was this awful woman at the processing desk who basically called me a liar and told her I was telling her a story. I guess she thought I was trying to buy it for my mother. I don t mind rules, but don t call me a liar, especially when I have two sales guys who can attest to my story you think I m telling you. Left a very bad taste in my mouth and I will be purchasing at colonial shooting Academy or bass pro from now on. I did not deserve to be treated the way she treated me. Won t see me back there. (I m a 35-year-old female with a concealed carry permit and no criminal record as well as a clean driving record, not a single ticket ever)

A super place for all hunting and fishing gear. Staff are very knowledgeable and willing to assist in the selection process. They also provide a couple of great services, knife sharpening and fishing line spooling, and there are likely more. This place is a regional treasure.

Truly a destination. Bring your credit cards and spend the day. Something neat for everyone.

Never really had a great experience there. Who wants to pay retail? But, on occasion I try and splurge... still, never really met with friendliness. Most recently spent 10 minutes listening to the phone ring to just immediately be hung up on. Called again, waited... this time the dude sounds beat up by life, whatever. Ask if a part is in stock, huge store, lots of inventory... immediately answers back they dont have any magazine parts for a remington 870. Thats a common shotgun, and parts are not exactly asked for every day. He must be a genius to remember every part count in the store... not wasting my time to drive an hour there to look, its easier ordering from Primary Arms... I can wait 2 days.

I've been shopping at Green Top since they were in the "small" location. Other than moving to a larger location, not much has changed. The staff is incredibly helpful and always friendly! So much better than the other huge chain stores.

After being disappointed by another FFL dealer , I decided to give Green Top another look. Despite being a customer since 1974, I had strayed away from Green Top over time because of the newer big box store feel, but now realize that the building is large for a reason.... to allow for a wide selection! Although sometimes the pricing seems a little higher than other sources, the service, selection and convenience far out weigh it.

Great selection for all aspects of hunting / fishing. Clothing selection is outstanding. Huge array of new and used firearms. What really sets this place apart from the "others" is the staff. They are extremely knowledgeable and friendly.

They will take your money online then when you show up to pick it up they don't have it. No apology no sorry for taking your money then making you drive here for nothing" Save yourself the headache and go to Cabela's go to another city go anywhere but here.

Called to verify that 22 ammo was still instock, was told that there was more than plenty, told them I was driving a hour to come get ammo and he assured me there would be plenty. When I got there, I was told they sold out about a hour ago. A nice gentleman did go in the back and got me 1 brick, even though I drove a hour for more than 1.

It's okay, their gun prices are high. But they do have a great selection.

I have been shopping at Green Top for over 10 years. I love going in there whether it is to just look around or to shop, but for some reason I always get some of the worst customer service. Great prices and selection over other stores. I even bought my first handgun there, but if I have questions and want friendly service I do prefer Bass Pro!

Came in over the weekend to look for my first handgun and had a great experience. Hunter took the time to walk me through everything and I found out we had a similar service record. He got me all set up to come back in a few days and pick it up. This review would be 5 stars if the young man who helped me when I picked it up had not been so rude. I won t mention his name but he asked me twice if I had the money, he improved his customer service until he informed me his shift was up and had to leave. I ll come back for the customer service I received from Hunter.

I would rather prefer Bass Pro Shops, but this was alright. I only went here once, and the staff was nice. Also this used to be a Gander Mountain, but became this. If I was going somewhere like this, I would choose Bass Pro.

This outdoor and firearm store has been here for decades. They were in a smaller building originally with a green roof line. Gander Mountain moved in less than a quarter mile away looking to poach their business. In the end, Gander Mountain closed this location not being able to compete with Green Top and a new Bass Pro outlet that opened up nearby. Green Top aquired the old Gander Mountain building which already had a green top!

Although much merchandise overlaps with Bass Pro, Green Top carries all sorts firearms, accessories, and gunsmithing services not readily available any where else.This includes fishing gear, clothing, cooking, and much more. I've been going here for years and regularly find great deals on clothing, ammunition, and shooting supplies.

So much Knowledge under one roof is amazing, everyone is so helpful and all contribute in some special way, GTOP.

If you are into any kind of hunting, fishing, outdoor adventuring, this is your place. With a wide range of gun sales, hunting and fishing gear, outdoor wear and supplies, boots and shoes. They even have a strong dog and pet section. There is something for everyone to look at. There are taxidermy animals to look at. There is plenty of parking in a safe parking lot. We found the restrooms to be clean. The numerous employees are friendly and helpful. We have never had a bad experience. Even when having to return merchandise, they were more than accommodating.

Had a little hiccup ,in purchasing my Shotgun, Ext 108 Michelle saved the day, I had been talking with her earlier in week about what I needed to bring paperwork .When I got there it wasn't accepted call Michelle from parking lot ,I had driven an hour and half , Told her the situation , She met me at arms paperwork desk along with Josh ,It was taken care of. I appreciate you all being strict on paperwork and security. Again Michelle ext. 108 save the day and I will come back to GreenTop

Not quite sure of this operation? I've called to speak to somebody about a handgun and nobody answers the phone in that department?

Other than being soooo bizzy, all my needs have been met. I delt with Green Top years before I bought my first fire arm there.
I was handed any gun I asked about and recieved, what I needed to know, to make a decision, for not only a fire arm, but also the ammo, that prove the best for me and my needs.
May it be extra clips , different holsters that cover the conditions, where I would be ARMED.
It's aussome to enter and feel free to roam, and there is always someone to point out the area to go-to and a name to ask for.
