Had a couple of issues I thought would be major, but the guys here really gave my car the proper attention and put my mind at ease for much less $ than I thought it would take. This is my new place for car repairs and service.
The best mechanic in town. Always does the right thing and tells you how it is. He is a genuine guy and the kind of person you want working on your vehicle.

My car is not in a great shape and compared to other places where they want to change pieceses and pay a lot of money, Green Grage fixed my car without replacing pieces, awesome! They explain me clearly what was the issue and how they fix it.Very honest with fair prices, I saved a lot of money. Now when i need help with my car I now where to go!
Honest. Friendly. Reasonable. Knowledgeable. They know cars. They believe that being honest brings them repeat customers. They are right. We've been taking our vehicles there for about 5 years now. They've always been helpful and fixed things that needed fixing. AND, they understand that everything doesn't have to be just right on an old car--and can offer advice about what things might not absolutely need fixing right away. Highly recommended.
I've taken my SUV to Green Garage 2 times now for repairs. My car was ready within 48 hours on both occasions. Chris is more than fair with pricing and is an honest mechanic. I highly recommend them!
Great experience, car was dying on the way there but I was able to drop it off, get it fixed a day early, and slightly below what I was expecting for emergency work. Friendly and transparent staff, I'll def take my car back.

I took my car here because I've been having issues off and on with my car starting. Although they unfortunately were not able to diagnose the problem by no fault of their own (like I said, my car has a mind of its own and only acts up occasional, not all of the time) because my car was deciding to run well when I took it in for it to be looked at. They started and ran my car multiple cars over the course of two days trying to give it every opportunity to act up but nothing. Even though they were unable to diagnose the problem, they had still put plenty of time and effort into my car so I was expecting to have to pay the standard $100 service fee for labor that every other mechanic charges. NOPE! Green garage told me that since they were unable to find anything wrong with my car that I didn't have to pay ANYTHING! Not a dime! I was shocked when the owner told me this. These guys are standup guys who are extremely professional and great to work with. It's hard to find good mechanics these days and I'm lucky to have found this diamond in the rough! They were more than willing to work around my constricting schedule. I will definitely be back in the future! Keep up the good work guys!
UPDATE: I took my car back for another problem it was having (my car is a 1998 so it needs regular repairs). These guys did not disappoint! I dropped my car off about an hour after they closed and was going to leave my keys in their drop box. However, Matt was just walking out of the shop to go home but he stopped everything to take care of me. The next day was a very busy day for them so he informed me that they may not have a chance to get around to looking at my car which I completely understood. To my surprise I got a call the following afternoon that they were able to look at my car and figured out what was wrong. He also suggested a few other repairs that he had found wrong with my car (things I already knew were wrong but I had been putting them off). He was completely honest with me and told me what he recommended I get fixed and what could wait awhile to get fixed. He was also having another mechanic in the shop look over my car to get a second opinion. These guys are some of the most honest mechanics I have ever met and unbelievably professional. I just cannot say enough great things about this place!!!

I took my car to another repair shop and they wanted $700 to replace a multitude of parts. Then I took it to Green Garage for a 2nd opinion and they fixed a very minor problem, and didn't charge me anything. These guys are truly honest! It is very rare to see an honest mechanic these days.

This place uses text reminders for appointments, estimate, and invoice delivery. They diagnosed a few problems I had with my 150k car & advised on the what makes sense to spend my dollars on. (I have all my past service receipts, so I had an idea what they would come up with.) Matt was (masked) good at listening & relaying information. I did have to get part of the repairs done a few days apart due to limited parts runs by suppliers. Not their fault. Easier if you can leave the car early & pickup at the end of the day. They are pretty busy, so I may do the basic oil change & tire rotation stuff elsewhere.
Very Friendly staff, especially Chris. Went for a pre-purchase inspection, gave me honest answers about what's right and wrong with the vehicle.

VERY LOW CLASS. TRIED TO SCAM ME! These individuals tried to take advantage of me and charge me well over $400.00 to put a new radiator in my Jeep Grand Cherokee. NO WAY. I took it to another mechanic shop and it turns out all I needed was a $24 radiator cap and that fixed the problem. This is something that any mechanic, regardless of the make model year etc of the vehicle should have tested for and realized. I want to make it absolutlely clear as day that I never needed my radiator replaced!! They just wanted my money!
DON T TRUST THESE GUYS because from my experience all they care about is taking your hard earned money by telling you that you need work that you do not. They do not care about getting to the heart of the problem and being honest. These young men do not know the first thing about business and cultivating long term relationships with customers built on honesty and trust. They are, however out to make a quick greed filled buck at the expense of YOU so if that is something that you desire, then just take your vehicle to Green Garage.
Chris, Mike, and Matt have all been wonderful! I, typically, perform most of my routine maintenance but was in need of a timing belt replacement. I took my car for an oil change first just to test the experience and work (which I found to be top notch). They have since performed the timing belt replacement and I couldn't be more pleased with the experience, the fair pricing, and my interactions with the personnel. I would highly recommend this location for anyone, but especially for women who might be unsure of where to go or who to trust for vehicle maintenance and repairs.
Those guys don t know what they are doing. Anyone with half a brain can specialize in toyotas, only takes real mechanics to work on german cars
I've used Chris and Green Garage in both professional and personal capacities and have never been let down. They have worked on all makes and models for me and always done a fantastic job. I even trust them with my personal German cars. Very knowledgeable, great communication, and top notch work. I find that when other shops cant fix it, Green Garage can.
I can not say enough great things about this Auto repair shop. My car had been turning over slow and I was thinking it was the starter but everyone who tested it said that my starter was fine. I called and asked could I get an appointment so they could diagnose the problem. After telling them that it may not crank they made me an appointment for the next day. They quickly let me know it was the starter. They fixed it and charged a reasonable price. The were nice and professional. I really enjoyed the experience.

I expected my car to be in the shop for a few days, however, they had completed the job in less than a day. When I came in they were not quite finished and I was about to call an Uber home and instead they told me to wait 20 more minutes and they would have it complete. One of the parts on my wheel hub had gone missing either during the repair or test drive. After I had noticed and called they were incredibly quick to offer free of cost replacement for this part without me even having to ask. Rarely do you see customer service this great at a repair shop and I am overall very impressed with this experience.

Green Garage has always taken good care of my wife's and my cars. For what we can tell, they're down to Earth, good people. They don't overcharge, they're honest, and if they can't perform the work themselves, they know someone who can and will give a recommendation for someone who can do the work locally. I came by with a vibration in my car after going through a pothole hard - these guys got it diagnosed and fixed same day, reasonably priced and super courteous. Vibration totally gone.
They also spotted that my battery had been installed incorrectly by the guys at Walmart while trying to diagnose the vibration and put a tie down on it to keep it in place same day, also at a reasonable price.
Later I was confused by something on the invoice, and when I called in worried about something they had done, the shop manager took time to explain to me step by step what they had done and it made perfect sense. Literally could not be more impressed by these guys and will be going back whenever I need automotive help.
Honest, patient, and fair pricing. Called ahead to get estimate on repairs for my Prius (needed a new Odometer) and also had several issues too. For priced on everything and given an estimated time when they would be done. No hassle at all. Pay with cash instead of card for a lower price. Wish they had more staff so they could be faster with the process. Great place!

A fantastic mechanic. They've never tried to swindle me, always been very fair in their assessments. They're good at finding cheaper options, but aren't afraid to say when it won't be safe if it's cheaper. I trust them completely. Also, they're incredibly nice. One of them once called me back immediately after we ended our conversation because he didn't say "You too!" when I told him to have a good evening. Highly recommend.

I have been going to Green Garage for over a year now and could not say enough nice things about this place. They are friendly, courteous, patient, and honest; I recommend them to ALL of my friends. When I got married, we took my husband's car in because I had such a great experience with them. We asked them to do a full workup and they identified that the previous owner of the car had been in a front end collision and we didn't even know! They explained each service and whether or not it was crucial, itemized each part they ordered, and even worked with me when I said I wanted to know which service to prioritize. Matt and David are so great; they even sent us a picture of the bent front bracing. It looked gnarly. Overall, great service, honest guys, and excellent work. We love Green Garage!

Hello All. Please read this, particularly females, because most of the time when it comes to your car, we get taken advantage of. I've already shared this information with my co-workers, and my family members; but I wanted to share my experience with others regarding the Green Garage. You know the saying, if you've ever had a bad experience, you tell everybody, including strangers; however, if the experience is great, you only tell a few -- what is up with that. I own a Red 1991 940 Volvo - Turbo and for years I have had it serviced at another local dealership. I had been observing the Green Garage and the clientele from a far (because after I park I generally walk past it most days on my way to work) for approximately 2 months. I reviewed the Website and decided to give it try for the following reasons: I read that the owner is a former military vet, and I believe we owe them for sacrificing; he opened the business with his wife, which means it's a family business and he's not going to take advantage of a female customer or any customer. So, I'm skipping forward almost a year later after having had my car serviced to tell you about the following incident. So during the week of 12/19/2016, I was preparing to leave for work and noticed a humongous oil spill [it had to do with the age of my car and the worn out part]. I took it in to Green Garage and Chris stated that he'd work me in; I didn't know how serious the leak was and this vehicle was my only vehicle. I received a call later that afternoon from Chris about my car and he told me what the problem was, what the cost would be, and if I wanted to proceed? After I told him yes, he of course had to order the parts but he stated that the parts would be in the next day and then they would test it out and make sure the car was good to go. He told me to stop by after work and he'd make sure I wasn't stranded. Everybody pay attention to this: Chris allowed me to use their loaner vehicle without doing a background check on me or asking for a valid address. He asked what direction I would be going just to make sure there was enough gas to get me home and back. When I told my parents, co-workers, etc., this part of the story, I had tears in my eyes. Why the tears, because I'm a black female. I highly recommend the Green Garage. Chris and Mike are the best at what they do; they're caring, they're respectful, and they enjoy doing what they do, which is taking care of your car!!! Green Garage is only a few walking blocks from The Kirklin Clinic, the UAB Hospital, and the VA. Drop your car off and walk on into work; that's what I do.

Recently took a car in after the dealer replaced a recalled transmission and messed up a few things. Green Garage was great about finding the issues and not trying to recommend any unnecessary work. Quick, accurate, and honest. I highly recommend them.
They didn t solve my problem, so I m taking it back to my home town where my mechanic has been working on it for years! They probably could have fixed it, but my guy knows the car inside and out. But Green Garage didn t charge me a dime for all the diagnostics or trial and error- and it s running way smoother now. They were also very easy to work with and I really like their front guy, Matt! He explained things well and was willing to put it in writing!

These guys are amazing. I do not live in Birmingham, but was staying downtown while my son had surgery at Children s hospital. While we were there; my truck started making a really bad sound (water pump failure). Green garage was the closest place and when I got there it was apparent that they were slammed and would not be able to even look at my truck for several days. When I explained my situation, they not only looked at my truck right away, but they got it fixed in less than 24 hours. It is amazing to find people that still care! They knew that I don t live in town, so the chances of gaining a new customer was low, but they went out of the way to take care of me and my family. They could have charged me anything they wanted to, and I would have paid it, but instead, the price they quoted me was more than fair. We are truly In their debt! If this is how they treat a stranger, I can t imagine how well they treat their regular customers. I know that if I can ever bring my car here again that I will. Thank you again, Green Garage.

I never thought I would be so enthusiastic about a mechanic but Chris and his team are absolutely amazing. They are incredibly honest and actually took the time to explain to me and my partner what was going on with our vehicles. Not only that, but they let me know what repairs could wait and that I could plan for in the future, free of charge (an INCREDIBLY helpful insight for someone on a tight budget like myself!). This is a team you can genuinely trust, and a local business that you can feel great about supporting.

They were very nice on my phone. I took my car to them and they told me that they were going to do a diagnostic fee and that fee would go towards any service. I didn t have all the money to do everything that they suggested so I asked them to do a couple of things that I could afford right then since I was still going to be out the $118 diagnostic fee. They then said that they couldn t do that and they were still going to charge me the fee so I paid them and picked up my car.
When I picked up my car all the service indicator lights were on so I called them and asked them why all those lights are on all the sudden and they basically said they don t know they couldn t help me. I took it to someone else and they said the issue was that the sensors needed to be plugged back in so overall wasn t a great experience.

I typically don't take the time to write reviews unless the service I receive is far greater than I expected, and that's exactly what I received on my visit here today. My car started having some issues, and while dreading the worse I wanted the best mechanics around to to look at my car, so I took to google on a search. I have never stumbled across an auto shop that not only had 5 stars but not one bad review. That's when I had to check this place out for myself and have not one single regret. When I arrived Chris was incredibly nice and was able to work me in the same day and assured me they would find what was causing my car troubles. Not even a hour later Chris called and broke everything down detail by detail, told me what was wrong that needed to be corrected, and also what was wrong that could wait. They had my car ready before I got off work, and all I can say is that I'm thankful to have found my new favorite repair shop, and also a little bit upset at myself I didn't find this place sooner. Seriously, don't second guess going there, you most certainly won't be disappointed!
They did a quote on my vehicle asked to see my quote from Range rover to determine what needed to be done. Nice customer service BUT IFFFF Range rover told me 1700.00 why would I pay anyone else 3700.00 for the exact same work and their the dealer. Much much higher

Love these guys! on a referral from a friend of mine I called and spoke with Matt who was very polite and set me up to come in the next day to drop off some new rims and tires to get mounted. I was impressed when i arrived to find that Chris was already expecting my arrival and knew what service i needed. I was looking for a shop to mount the tires without scratching the rims and Chris delivered them completely scratch free and all clean. They really take pride in their work and it shows. I took my 07 Yukon to Green Garage, to get a Tune-up and an Oil Change. I knew my vehicle needed more than what I was getting fixed. They did a complete vehicle check and told everything that needs to be fixed. I love how easy it was to read their quotes to complete the rest of the work; in addition, Matt was willing to answer any questions I had. I will not take my car anywhere else!! Absolutely fabulous experience for having just blown out a tire on a brand new car! Downtown Birmingham has horrendous potholes. Was making a turn and didn't see it, completely blew out my tire. Happened to pull over next to this garage (didn't even see them!) and when I was in the process of changing my tire an employee was nice enough to help me! In return, I walked over to the garage and they were able to get me a quote very quickly. Very reasonable price for parts and labor! They went and picked up the tire (thankfully it was in stock!) and had it on my car in no time! Altogether from the time I changed my tired to leaving with my new one, the process took at or less than 30 minutes. The staff was AWESOME! This is also a veteran-run business, which made me even happier! This place is absolutely worth your business, and I can't be more thankful for them being there in my time of need! Thanks guys!

These people are honest, they're quick, and they're awesome. Chris is the best! Not only are they super personable and professional, I drive a Smart Car and it's the first time I've owned one. Chris actually told me what to look out for in the car and what's a big deal and so forth. These people were way more helpful than the dealer I purchased it from, way more honest and fair too. I have an older car from the late 90 s, and they handle it with a breeze. From a full overhaul of my suspension, to repairing oil leaks, and even just down to basic maintenance and oil changes, these guys will take care of your vehicles. Matt at the front desk will walk you through the process every step of the way, and keep things simple so those of us who are less mechanically inclined can understand. Overall, the service is top notch, fair, and quick. Cannot thank Green Garage enough for keeping my car running for years to come.
