Their phone system is not helpful. I tried to call and ask about an small issue but nobody seems exist there.
Just booked a flight today and after the way the consulate treated us .. cancelled. And they say the French are rude? HA! we just booked our direct flights to Paris :)
They make everything very hard, trying to charge you FOR LITERALLY EVERYTHING!!!! They re freaking services SUCKS. And the website that use in general doesn t work, doesn t let you make payments! And the worst thing is that there s no other way to do this stupid visa!!!! I hate it!!!! IF IT WAS FOR ME I WILL NEVER GO BACK TO UK.
Lost my passport in Austin. Had to come here to get emergency documents to travel. It's the 24th floor btw for anyone wondering and you use the directory phone outside to let them know you are there.
Customer rep not helpful and their website is not intuitive.
The phone system sucks. I've been on it for 30 minutes and no one picks up. Such great help.

Should be a 24 hour service but only runs mon-fri and only until 2:30 pm for appointments good luck getting any help on a weekend or national holiday
This is a big thank you to Caroline at the consulate, needed to get an emergency passport for travel back to the U.K., Caroline was one of the most helpful people I ve dealt with, had my emergency passport at my house 30 hours are the first call

Very very unresponsive to phone calls. I spent the better part of 30 mins trying to speak to someone about an issue & couldn't. Their website states they are open from 8:45 am but no one was available. Do they work at all or are they just here on vacation, spending her majesty's pounds?
Having been in email contact with the British Consul in Bucharest and at the suggestion of that Consulate I called the Consul in Houston to ask for a contact email address so that I could advise the Consul of my situation.
Once I finally got through to talk to a person they were very rude and not at all helpful despite my telling the person (female) that I was calling from Portugal as suggested by Bucharest. The call terminated by the person cutting off the call most abruptly. I cannot believe that British subjects seeking help and advice would be so badly treated.

Absolutely pathetic service! The websites are a mess. The consular officers are unresponsive, and rude. You have to pay $2 per minute to even talk to customer service only to get canned answers. Shame on British government! Goodbye England..not on my bucket list ever!
Can't talk to a real person (machine loop) or figure out what to do on their website (too confusing). Just wanted to get a Visa to travel to England and Scotland for my Colombian wife. Guess we will just cancel.
