Greek Peak Mountain Resort & Hope Lake Lodge Review

2017 summer: Water park is for kids, though there is a hot tub. Arcade room is average, adventure Park will keep you entertained for like half a day. Pretty expensive for what you get but could be worse.. decent get away spot.

Edit 2018: Been coming here to board almost every winter for years but never stayed at the lodge until this year, everything about it sucked. The rooms would be nice if they didn't use the cheapest of everything everywhere. You may or may not have hot water when you need it, though the latter seems to be the norm. The operation times for everything from the water park to the shuttle bus is done for the convenience of their employees not their customers. The cafeteria on the slopes below Trax restaurant was closed mid day, when I asked the employee there when they open she awkwardly said tomorrow then proceeded to check out another employee that came after I asked right in front of me. They have like 4 snow blowers from what I've seen, lie on the regular about snow depth so you come here expecting 40' and you can see grass instead of snow.

Overall this place blows, having stayed here made me never want to come back.

The best thing to do here is stop giving them money and let the place die as it will regardless.

Honestly I'm surprised they have 4 stars, probably had their own family review this place over and over with different names.

Go to a real mountain if you itch for winter sports, avoid this place unless you like soggy chicken wings and an avg experience at best!

Visited during Oct 15..... Excellent resort... Well maintained rooms and kitchenette... The waterpark inside is good too for fun.

If price is no option than Greek peak is the best. We ski here mostly but there is so much more to do here. If your looking for a family getaway it's amazing. Tubing, water slides, skiing and snow boarding, cross country trails and hiking. And that's just the winter activity's. They have so much family fun year round options.

If all you want is cheap skiing in cny you may want to check out the three other mountains. Labrador, song, Togenburg.

The bar, Trax, is alot of fun. Outdoor has fire pits. $120 for lift and rental a bit.muchbfir such a small place. Many trails were closed because of warm weather.

MTN was empty on monday! Good conditions for man-made snow and good lighting on the trails. Definitely going back again! Great weekday deals too

We have loved every moment of our stay. Our 2 young kiddos were excited with the cabin feel of the room from the moment we first walked in. There has been nonstop entertainment from face painting to a visiting clown and cookies too! The waterpark is great for younger kiddos and the lifeguards are amazingly attentive. We also enjoyed the arcade and a quick fire before hitting the hay so that we could get up early and do it all again!

Extremely disappointed.... Nothing to brag about for the price of 1,200.00 for the weekend. Mountain is nice but that's about it. Room is extremely small. Cascades is a joke of place. Not happy. Will never come back and definitely will never recommend it to anyone... Website brags this place up way to much. It's pretty bad when you pay this much and have to turn around and pay 2.25 for a can of soda. My 10 year old is even disappointed.. So much for a family fun getaway.

Great day on the mountain. Nice and sunny. But the lift attendant at bottom of bunny slope does not know how to stop chair and my grandson and I fell off and hit our heads. Luckily we were ok.

Spent a week there in October 2017. Highly recommend the on site rental condos. Roomy, lots of amenities, and off season rates are reasonable. A great getaway!

The snow conditions often are not optimal, but its inna very convenient location for locals so if you have a season pass its fine to pop in and put for a few hours. Their daily rates are absurd and frankly probably not worth it, but they have frequent deals worth taking advantage of.

With that said, the on trail terrain is nice, but if you so much as ski with one foot in the forest, you'll have employees surrounding you ready to ruin your day. They are very by the rules and don't allow for much that isn't just sliding down a groomed trail

My wife and I went for a couples massage and decided that we would spend the day tubing and checking out any other attractions that were available.
Our first encounter with an employee was in the arcade area. She was very pleasant, professional, and informative. This young lady would prove to be a highlight and a bright spot in our visit. We then decided to investigate getting a ski lift to take in the views. We struck out as the ticket attendant informed us that they did not offer ski lifts to the general public stating, we do not want the traffic . Next up is the tubing, well we were informed that tubing did not open till 4. So we decided to venture over to the waterpark. Once inside the water park we decided to grab a drink and food from the concession stand. My wife and I, along with 5 to 6 other patrons were rudely served by a young man who clearly needed to not be at work that day. His use of profanity, slamming utensils and throwing food clearly disturbed some that looked on in amazement. But once again, the employee from the arcade swooped in to save the moment, offering to take customers orders so as to lighten the disgruntled employees load.
We finally made it to our couples massage. The staff was very professional and accommodating. The ambiance lacked just a bit, but after experiencing the concession stand debacle this was heaven. I have not given a review in quite some time, but I do believe that my experience merits a two star rating.

Came here holiday weekend and there wasn t too many people. There are quite a few lifts. Can take snowboarding or skiing lessons or one on one lessons. They have a mountains of fun package which includes the bunny slope and a shirt lesson as needed.

Went for a meeting, so no skiing, it was May. Facility nice and clean. Food was great. Grounds look nice. Still a little snow on slopes, must've been a good base!

Went for Sunday brunch and a ride up the mountain on the ski lift. We had a great day for it. As we ate breakfast on the deck we watched mountain bikers riding down the trails and enjoyed some Bloody Marys. For the two drinks, lemon ricotta pancakes and a special egg enchilada it was very reasonable. We also got $5 off per person on the lift because we had brunch. The wait staff were great and very happy. We also found that the ski lift guys (both ticket and operators) were very knowledge and accommodating. I would go again, especially when the leaves change

An extraordinary place where you forget about everything. Friendly, fun and challenging environment. One of the best places on this Earth to spend your time.

Good mountain. Not overly crowded and the facilities are great. Trax bar was excellent.

This place is amazing I do recommend you go here and the the water park.

Beautiful place and area! The mountain has a ton of well maintained trails and lifts.

New to winter sports so can't really rate the mountain or lifts. However, I give 5 stars for their awesome staff that do the learn to ride program. Great instructors get you going and personalize to the pace of the group.

Awesome place to stay. Great for a family vacation. The zip line is a lot of fun.

Snow tubing is a great activity for people of all ages. They offer hand-warmers and hot cocoa to make sure you keep warm.

It was grate other than when I broke my dealer and the instore shop couldn't replace it only got one run in.it costed me 3 dollars a minute... I'm 13

Great atmosphere people are awesome super friendly and family environment staff is amazing and do a great job. Trax is the place to hang out when the riding is done they have great food and excellent beer selection. Almost forgot to mention the glades are super fun.

Nice place to ski in the winter and do down hill mountain biking in the summer. Great Hotel if you are from out of town and want to stay on the mountain.

One of the larger resorts in the Central New York area. Greek offers more trails, more lifts, and generally faster lifts than similar nearby resorts. Greek however does charge more than almost any other resort in the area.

I ski here all the time as its my local ski area. Its got lots of trails, good snow making, and a good ski school (where i happen to work part time :-). It has a new ez loading quad lift. So lift lines are short and its never crowded. It would be nice if they would replace a couple more lifts with newer ones. I think the food is very good. My customers tell me they really like the new lodge, although I have never stayed in it.

We visited last summer 2015. We love the moderate and comfortable size of the resort. Perfect for my young family 1 & 5. Cheaper than the Great PRICE Lodge alternative. Rooms clean and customer service courteous.

A small "mountain" compared to the western US or even Vermont, but for locals in Central NY a great place to learn. For a place of its size it has a remarkable variety of terrain. I learned how to ski there, and now do double-blacks all over the world!

Great place to ski, and the hotels restaurant was fantastic. The waitress was even better.

Great local resort to ride and ski. Prices have gotten out of control. Location would greatly benefit if they provided 4 hour lift passes at a good price throughout the day instead of just closing hours.

I am very pleased with Greek Peak. The effort put into the dh mountain biking is awesome. The trails are great and they continue to make improvements. They have added new trails and features. The staff is super friendly and always willing to help. From beginner to expert this is a great place to ride. It is worth my drive from Rochester. I recommend supporting this great business.

I always have a good time at Greek. The fact that we get 60 degree weather for weeks at a time in January is not their fault. They do the best they can.
Greek has invested millions in a new lodge, snowmaking, lighting, and other investments. Tons of major upgrades from years past. It would be great if the terrain park was more of a focus, but one thing at a time. I m just glad we have a cool local resort.

Christmas Eve $5 all day. Bacon and egg breakfast Muffin $5 good

Nice place. Rustic Lodge. Lots of things to do. Beautiful scenery.

Parking lot is in terrible condition, not a draw..we visited the cafeteria and the food was dry, tasteless, not fresh, and very expensive (almost $4 for a tasteless pretzel).

I love the waterpark here it is a blast I ve been here two weeks in a row and I am very satisfied with the results. The staff is amazing and they open up sections for you even if they are slow. The water and temperature is perfect you don t have any chilling as when you enter the water and that is different than any other resort.

Trax restaurant is nice with lots of options. Very family friendly.

If you ski and you are close, get a season pass. Since new owners the place has a much better ski resort feel and they make snow when the conditions permit. Very impressive. Good job getting this gem back in shape. Cannot say enough!!!

Always great times at the Greek Peak. They're constantly making improvements.

We stayed here for a wedding, only thing was check out was a long process other than that it was beautiful!

Good small town east coast skiing. Ample runs to make for an enjoyable day.

Mountain coaster was super fun, surprised my 3 year old daughter could go on and she loved every second of it!

Ventured to Greek Peak for the first time this year as its part of the Indy Pass. I was very impressed with all of the trails that were open and we had a great day skiing. Greek Peak offers a good variety of all terrain types including Glade. I would definitely visit again!

It's ok. The indoor water park they have is Veryyy expensive for it's size.

Hotel was nice room was good however covid rules were not applied to everyone large wedding group blocking rear entrance none wearing masks, kids in party running around in lobby no masks, every other guest being respectful and following guidelines. Multiple people on premises from quarantined states can have a party of 50+ people all exposing themselves to the rest of the guests but have half the amenities shut down. Must make reservations for pools to keep numbers at a safe quantity and there isnt one spot on the pool decks to sit and couldnt fit 1 more person in the pool?!

Super over priced for what they actually offer, you could take a weekend trip to a nice mountain ski and stay for the price of a day here.

Lodge is amazing. Beautiful suites, and ambiance throughout the property. Love this rustic decor and feel. Evening campfire for marshmallow roasting is awesome. Mountain Coaster is a definite must try.

Have not been in 40 Years ... Y'all are PSIA friendly. Given the Covid, am planning to "Ski the East". This Hill is on the list.

They did a good job making snow, but some hot coffee and food would have been nice.

Decent trails for all skiing/snowboarding skill levels. Staff are friendly and helpful.
