Like most non-congregants, I came here for the Greek Food festival. There was an interesting talk in the chapel as well. Tip: you can avoid the entrance fee with the coupon available in the neighborhood and on the internet.

Annunciation Cathedral is centrally located in the Mission district at 14th & Valencia. It is easily accessible by SF Muni and BART. This church has so much energy. There are so many events. The emphasis is really on youth. In 2013, the church community is rebuilding the cathedral. The plans are really amazing. After you meet Father Stephen and Father Niko you will want to keep coming back and make Annunciation your parish home.

Every fall the Annunciation Cathedral hosts a Taste of Greek Festival. Admittance is $5.00 a person. You can smell the gyros cooking blocks away. The aroma of food is surround by music from the band that is currently playing. Grab a gyro, fried kalamari or loukaniko from one of the food tents outside. Don't fill up because you'll want to head towards the main dinning hall to get some Kotopoulo (grilled lemon chicken), Moussaka, Souvalkia, or Spanakopita. Grab a seat outside and enjoy the music and people watching. You'll see generations doing traditional dance. After all that food, you're ready to burst so get your pastries to go.
