Great Wolf Lodge Review

Room was very nice. Water park was fun, somewhat small though. Slides were very nice.

I wrote the following message (below in quotes) on Great Wolf's Facebook wall and they blocked me. Congratulations, you've made me a Kalahari customer for life. I'll gladly take my money elsewhere.

"I got a special offer in my email for a max occupancy 5 room for $89.99 a night for 4 guests. When I add in the third child, my 4-year-old, the booking price jumps up to $139.99 for that same room. So my booking price would increase 64% for adding a 4-year-old. You're free to charge what you want, but I will not be giving you my business, just my feedback. I'll be unsubscribing from your email list. Thanks"

Had fun with kids, they emailed and asked if we wanted a early check in..but never had room ready until after regular check in time????

My kids had a blast here. The staff is great and the rooms are awesome.

Some of the rides were too big for my 4yo but he still had fun

It was fun. Definitely for smaller kids but the hotel was relaxing for us adults as well.

Best place in the Dell's if you have younger kids and still great for older kids

perfect place for kids and family, helpful courteous staff, plenty of fun activities i.e. water park, arcade, magiquest, etc, highly recommend for families with younger children (under teenager).

This place knows what they're doing!! If you're looking for a family of place, this is it! Even during peak times (week after new year's) the waits aren't that bad, like 10 min a ride. Note, I haven't been to the Kalahari; maybe it's better... maybe it's more expensive. I'd say so, since the Kalahari was fully booked when we booked our condo about 5 weeks before we came. Have fun!!!

Great front desk staff! Our first room had an issue, so we called up to get a new room and they upgraded us to the jacuzzi and fireplace suite. The entire place was empty, compared to going during the summer, and it felt so much better spending a day there with so few people around!

Going to great wolf in about week an a half. So excited! My concern is all reviews on closed water areas and the comments about cold water, have two little ones my fingers are crossed!

It would be a great place to go if you had younger kids

We came here for a night to celebrate our daughter's birthday. We checked into our room a couple hours ago. Our daughter was very excited about the fireplace in our room. It turns on about half of the time. So, we have to keep calling maintenance, who was rude the last time they came. We asked to be moved to anoyher room, but we're told the hotel is booked. I guess we'll have to keep calling maintenance every couple hours. The watermark is fun, but otherwise I don't recommend staying here. We spent too much money to deal with this. Next time, we will be going to the Kalahari.

Our family really enjoyed our mini vacation here. The staff were all really friendly and I thought the option to text with questions or complaints was super helpful. We had an issue the second night with the people staying above us being loud past the quiet time and I was able to txt the front desk and have it handled instead of walking up there in the middle of the night. We bought the pup pass for our two year old who really enjoyed being able to do the extra activities. We also purchased the food vouchers for our whole stay which I probably wouldn't do again since the food was just OK and I ended up getting sick on our last day there. I would have gave 5 stars if it wasn't for the food poisoning I got. Overall though the resort and Waterpark were really nice and we would definitely come back again.

Had a good time. Rooms were clean and comfortable. Wish there was a sinkin the bathroom. Kids lovedthe wizard quest attraction. Lots of real fun activities for younger children. Very nice water park inside. Wave pool was awesome. Staff was always friendly and helpful. Overall a fun family vacation spot.

They are amazing and they remain compleatly calm and relaxed and they know how to deal with hard situations. They are kind and conciderate. I will rate them 5 stars.

The waterpark is great, and spread out. The problem is the rooms. This place was built in the 80s, and much of the original decor remains. The obviously replaced the furniture and carpet in our room, as well as installing nice new tile in the bathroom and tub. Unfortunately, the doors are 80s cheap hollow core, the door handles are original, and the rusty toilet paper holder is original. Still, it's generally clean and nice . . . Just not the room we expected for the price: your paying for the excellent water park.

I'm 55, typically tip 20 to 30%, and have never sent a meal back or asked not to pay for one partially eaten. Our check in person was rude, either poorly trained or apathetic. Dinner took 2.5 hours with kids in tow and half the food was over cooked or cold and went uneaten. At breakfast - which was part of a package with one voucher for 8 people - it took over 45 minutes to get a table missing some place settings and after flagging down our waitress she just repeated what we heard at dinner last night...tough luck, they are understaffed...that's what we get for ordering the buffet for breakfast. We left after an hour with them bringing two cinnamon rolls for 8 people to share as a "start" as she put it; dropping it on the table almost without breaking stride, so no chance to even beg for water. We left and cancelled this and the next 3 morning breakfasts, which were a reason we chose this water park with outside wind chill at -24 today. As if this relatively petty thing needs mention, my seat had cream all over it. It was impossible to miss, so I cleaned what hadn't dried before I sat.

One of the bedrooms last night had the air turn on instead of heat, so a block of ice formed on the unit and that room was extremely cold and the dad came here with one already. The front desk this morning told us we had to wait for and be in the room for the maintenance person. When he showed up, he had to come back but said we didn't have to waste any more of our vacation on this, and he would let himself in and out just like any time we had a maintenance issue anywhere else, ever.

We had an 11am early lunch across the street at Buffalo Phil's and it was good food, good service and we recommend it. The water park today was fun. Net, net, we will be going to another water park next year for our ski trip.

Great place for kids and families. Not so much for adults. 3 adults that visited, including myself, all experienced back pain from their far too soft beds. Could have been just us. Maybe others like it. Other than that it was fabulous!! Loved the adult only jacuzzi with waterfall where they let you take your drinks.

Great Wolf was wonderful. I had a grest time looking forward to the next time I'm able to attend Great Wolf Lodge again.

I love this place because the staff are kind, the water parks are incredible, and the rooms are clean. If I had not ever been there I would have missed out.

Outside doesn't do it justice. Really well ran and clean. Kids enjoyed it.

My entire family (13 of us) stayed in a condo for the weekend. Rooms were nice, and we used the kitchen to cook. Water park was fun, although not as impressive as I had hoped. Although my 18 month daughter had a blast in the little one area. All in all a fun trip!

We are still here but very kid friendly alot for little ones to do

So much fun for the kids. The whole place is fun every day. Water park is good. Kids love the jama jamboree. To save money, bring food for breakfast and lunch. Book at least sixty days early. Stay during the week if you can. You don t ever need to leave the place. The kids have so much fun.

Very clean, homey, lots of stuff to do for the children

It has a large water park, but it's cut in sections. This can separate families. The lazy river is terribly small. Good location near mall and game room. And restaurants near by.

Great place for kids! Condo we rented had trouble with air conditioning but they gave us another one. We had a 4 pm check-in but they didn't have room ready until 4:45, but we got a slight discount because of air conditioning. All in all a great experience!

The waterpark is huge with lots of options to choose from. Also there areany family friendly events held in the lobby and around the park. Also, the staff at the restaurant did an awesome job accommodating our kids with multiple food allergies. They went above and beyond. We will definitely come back for another stay.

We had a great time here. The staff is great, the rooms are very comfortable, the water park is fun. Our kids very much enjoyed the Magiquest game.

Hotel was great, water park was good. Cookware in condos could use some upgrading. Paw pass was great value. Had to buy coffee filters but also didn't all if the hotel had any.

the staff is excellent from the front desk to the life guards. some equipment is outdated and offline and the prices are a bit high compared to more modern amenities available in the area. Kids had a great time and we felt safe, so still solid 4 stars.

Our room was nice and spacious. Two TVs and fireplace are always a plus. Indoor waterpark is very nice and big. Howlin' Tornado is intense in the daylight but fun.

Disappointing trying to use the LEAPYEAR special promotion code. For April 26th It is not allowing me to. It is saying it id out side of the date limits. However it clearly is before the ending in May, it's not a Friday or Saturday?

Kid loved the waterpark and activities. Staff was friendly and responsive. Good restaurant selection inside and the surrounding area.

Great place for my kids. They loved all the water slides and water park. The activities are great. Staff is helpful and friendly. Rooms are clean and nice, all situated close to the water park.

I give 2 stars because the food was ok in the morning. But the lodge itself is filthy. It needs a total make over. My grandson's feet got so dirty walking in the room, the dust under the A/C was discussing . There was dust everywhere. The inside pool area had so much chlorine being used it burnt my eyes and my lungs. Over in the area more geared for much smaller children there was a pipe sticking out and my daughter in law turned and ran right into it not knowing it was there. Very dangerous, if older children came to be with younger siblings. I have been there twice before in the last 10 yrs and it hasn't changed one bit. I won't be going back there again.

My kids love this resort. It's perfect for the under 10 crowd, but there is enough for the whole family to do. Story times, the clock tower, craft time, dance parties, etc. The big kids will love magic quest. The water park has three large sections and an outside area, a dozen plus slides in all sizes, the climbing tower and bucket, wave pool, 3 kiddie areas, food, alcohol, and cabanas. Tables and chairs can be a bit hard to come by on really busy days, but people are always coming and going. The restaurant is pretty good but a little expensive, we usually go elsewhere. The rooms are clean if a bit outdated, but overall we are happy to stay here!

Great resort for the kids and the staff was very helpful and friendly.

Very good, easy, and fast check in and check out experience. I prefer this waterpark over some of the others in the area because it is quieter and has a bit more variety (indoor parks), but I believe the slides are likely not as intense for older kids.

Location: Wisconsin Dells. Stayed in a Condo. Had to wait for an hour while they finished cleaning our room. Did not receive a text when our room was ready, we had to call to find out. Found last occupant's soap in the shower. Dishes in the dishwasher had burnt caked on food. Screen door is off track. Definitely disappointing for the amount of money we paid. Not sure of we will be coming back to Wisconsin.

We took our 2 kids (1 and 4) here as part of their Christmas gift. Everyone was very friendly and catering. Our room was clean as well as the waterpark. We loved how the waterpark had different areas to check out but was not all the way across the hotel from each other, like other hotels in the Dells. They had a cute show/bedtime story with falling snow at night where our kids wore their pjs. There was ice cream and coffee for adults. We had an amazing time. **Side note: We left our 4 year olds blankie there which had a HUGE family memory behind it. We pestered the staff for a week and after 2 and a half weeks, they called and FOUND IT! This had such a great impact on us and we were so so happy and appreciative they didnt give up looking!

Great rooms, nice service, and a fun waterpark for the family.

Multiple issues. The water park closed at 8pm. There is nothing else to do in the facility after 8 pm... we checked in at 130pm to obtain our park passes. The clerk told us we would have our room ready in 10 minutes. That was great news, except it was an hour and a half later before I was contacted with a room number. The rates are pretty high for what you get. The waterpark was pretty nice.

Amazing indoor and outdoor water park my family and I have been going to for over 15 years! Rides and attractions for people of all ages. Would highly recommend!

Hotel staff friendly and helpful, rooms clean. The kids love the Waterpark here, lots for little kids to do. Seems to be a lot of stuff in need of repair though.

This is only our first night here but so far we're having a blast. It's not a 5 star resort but it's a great place for our young family and the staff has been great.

My family and i did have fun, hope to be back next year!

Great rooms. Nice water park with plenty to do! All you need within the hotel so no reason to leave.

The beds were comfortable and the place was very clean. The water park had lots of different slides and pools and was so much fun! The staff were helpful and very nice. My kids did not want to leave!

looks fun but never been there but will be going there in a few weeks

Room was fine but the ceiling fan was dusty. Too many kids running amok and parents who don't control them. The food at the restaurant was average but my chicken and waffles looked terrible and tasted bland. Park was a lot smaller indoors than I expected and geared mainly towards children.

*this review is for regular to check to check this is our splurge vacation folks. So if you're above the basics, by all means look elsewhere for the rich people's reviews of silver spoons and such* I personally really appreciate the reasonably priced regular rooms, for regular people that have kids, are just trying to give their kids a good time. Call ahead of time, Ask for the smallest, cheapest rooms available, and book. They are super helpful and accommodating. You spend 98% of the time outside of the room in the pool area, everything is enclosed so you never leave the complex. Fun tip, they have refrigerators in the rooms... They're also dry ... And stores close before 12A... Take heed my fellows and use the fridge wisely!

My family and I booked one night to celebrate a birthday. I purchased the additional breakfast and late checkout at 2pm in advance. Upon check-in we were told breakfast was from 7-11am the next morning. We arrived for breakfast at 7am and the restaurant was still closed. After asking at the front desk, we were told it opens at 7:30am. Later, around 11am my 9 month old daughter was sound asleep when housekeeping knocked on the door. My husband responded but apparently was not heard, so housekeeping opened the door and entered which woke up my daughter. Oh, and I was showering at the time. At 12pm, the phone rang and it was housekeeping again, asking if we paid for late checkout at 12pm...no, I paid for 2pm checkout. It was apparently not listed even though it was verified at check-in. Then, there was a used dirty fork still sitting on the floor next to the couch. There is also obvious mold on the ceiling in the bathroom. For being a kid friendly place, I would hope rooms are cleaned and mold is addressed. Overall, I was not impressed.

The hotel was older and showing wear. Housekeeping was an issue, we found left over food on the floor from the last guest. No one came to clean our room during our stay, even after asking 3 times. I would not recommend this place, especially for the money we paid. I gave the place two stars because the pool was nice.
