I love the Dunes so much. It was so amazing!!!!! It was hard to hike and make sure you wear long pants and jacket or sweaters because the sand hurts when it gets windy. It sucks that you have to pay 25$ to get in.
Great and unique space. Recommend early morning arrival to avoid wait lines to get into the park. Bring layers and closed toed shoes, the water can be chilly, the sand can be very hot. Sunglasses and other wind protection are necessary if you are ascending the dunes (which is well worth the climb). Park is dog friendly - but remember they can burn their paws on hot sand too!
Unusual sight, and very much worth the trip! You can hike, rent sand sleds and boards, or take some off roading trails. I highly recommend the rentals and dune surfing! Be warned this place is super remote and there is 1 place offering food, drink, and gas so of course it's a bit pricey. May want to ride out on a full tank and pack your own things. This is also a great place for star gazing at night!

Geological anomaly go there it's fun. Bring glasses and a scarf though. It's windy and Sandy.
Been here before and its still a must place to visit if ever in the southwest
This is the best place to bring the kids. they can play all day in the sand.
This year snowmelt flows and it looks like a beach.
I wear swimwear and climb from the sand mountain.
It took a long time to the parking lot in a great traffic jam.
To bad there's no way to drive sandbuggys on the sand that is a huge downfall to enjoying the dunes
