Welcome to Granted Gardens! We are Melissa and Tyler, and we are so happy you have chosen to visit us! Back in 2017, Granted Gardens was a nameless 4x4 raised bed made by my father from an old wooden swing set. Since then, we have built a dream on our 1.5 acre homestead. We are located in Frederick County, Maryland. Our gardens include an herb bed, 3 raised beds, one back to eden garden, a food forest, and a cottage garden. Gardens are my passion. However, we have considered adding livestock as well. In 2020 we finally made it happen and we added 8 chickens to the homestead! Gardening is not all we do. We also LOVE to cook! The three raised beds are used for growing vegetables such as tomatoes, peppers and cucumbers while the back-to-eden garden uses natural methods of gardening that involve covering the soil with organic materials like wood chips or leaves.
The food forest at Granted Gardens is an innovative approach to gardening where different types of plants are grown together in harmony just like they would be found in nature. This method ensures that each plant gets what it needs from its surroundings while also providing shade for other plants.
Finally, there's the cottage garden which features beautiful flowers such as roses and lavender that add color and fragrance to the property.
Apart from their love for gardening at Granted Gardens they have considered adding livestock too! In 2020 they plan on adding chickens so that they can have fresh eggs every day!

They use composting techniques to enrich their soil instead of chemical fertilizers which can harm beneficial insects like bees or butterflies.
