Grand Traverse Pie Company Reviews

I have never had a Grand Traverse Pie Company Peach Pie, but I recently ate a slice of Peach Pie in the dining hall at the University of Michigan (@mdining) and I felt like it was lacking some of that Nor'michigander pizazz. Therefore I would like to request a pie from the GTPC for a Blindfolded Taste Test Sample Comparison Challenge (BTTSCC). Together we can make it happen!

Good food. Service was quick enough. Pie was excellent.

how is a pie company out of Quiche - It's egg pie? And no Pecan pie? and out of Apple pie too? When I mentioned the odd amount of "Pie" missing from the Pie menu, I was brushed off. I could have gotten apple pie at Denny's just up the road, should have went there.

Always a good idea if you want a quality salad, sandwich or slice of pie! They are more than just a pie company. But pies are their specialty and they top the charts in this category. Don't forget to have it warmed & get a scoop of icecream with it. If you have a special occasion that calls for dessert ... order a pie for pick-up or walk-in and select from many that can be boxed and ready to go for your convenience. Don't miss out on this local gem. Enjoy!

Great food, didn't have any pie but the soup and sandwich were excellent!

The Mountain Berry Pie was excellent!! The Mediterranean Chicken (have to ask to add) was wonderful! They have those great fresh, kettle cooked chips too go with your sandwich or Berry Applesauce!! So good!

I hope no one else has said this...the pie is...Grand.

The crust was way too thick and too sweet. We had a peach pie shipped to us and the bottom crust was greasy and hard. The filling was pretty tasty with nice, soft peaches, but not quite the taste of a homemade pie. The pie was very unattractive as well. They look pretty on the website, though! The packaging was super cute too!

Really good pies and treats. Great place for lunch, too.

Went in treated with understanding, courteous, friendly service. Got what we ordered after having a relaxing time. Hats off to the baker. Delicious...

Great Pot Pie.. never had better. Cherry crumb pie with ice cream great! When our pie was forgotten they gave us 2 free pie slices cards and added ice cream for free!

I was in today and ordered their Mediterranean veggie sandwich and a mocha. That sandwich is cold, has hummus, and is really good. My drink was made wrong - I went up to ask for it to be fixed and happened to get a manager. She listened and was very kind. She went to remake my drink and took the time to teach the person that first made it. The worker seemed new.
The staff is great, and even though they were quite busy when we got there, we had our food in no time! Try out their Lighthouse Turkey and their veggie sandwich! And of course, their pie is always good. This company stands behind their products and strides to produce quality food.

GOTTA go here, the pies are SCRUMPTIOUS !! no kidding, eat in or out fresh DAILY.
Then they have a great variety of baked goods from quiche to pot pies, fresh ground coffee, a GREAT place, yum and a lot of friendly faces. A Traverse City mainstay.

Their pies are hot, crumbly, and delicious, and don't forget to try their cherry coffee!

I really liked the cherry crumb pie and also even more, the blackberry peach pie. The topping of the pie is so delicious. The cherry coffee is, a bit too artificial for my tastes, but it was still a great start to the day and the staff was super friendly.

Always clean, staff is very welcoming and kind. Good food and extra good pie!

The food is really good but the pies are amazing. This is definitely my favorite restaurant in Traverse City. The entire restaurant is spotless and the staff is incredibly nice. You can't go wrong eating here.

The Strawberry Fields Salad is delicious. Don't miss the tomato soup either. One of my favorite lunch spots.

Had a pasty. It was poorly wrapped, burnt, and hardly warm. Service was ok nothing to speak of. Very disappointed for the price and portion size.

Just left with a beautiful pie. I buy them often when I visit clients in areas of the state where you do not have a presence. Today, your pie goes to Rose City, MI. Because I take special care of my clients, I expect the same when I am being waited on. Jen in your W. Front location was exceptionally rude. Not a smile, not a good morning, slow to even notice a customer needed attention, and followed thru with that demeanor throughout my transaction. You have a lot of worker bees there this morning, all standing around and chatting, and then rude. Pies can t be beat......Service...another story.

Food was delicious and the staff were very helpful and pleasant. We brought home a cherry pie and enjoyed every bite. Definitely recommend!

I just went in to get two turkey clubs, two chocolate chip cookies, and an apple pie to hide away for myself tonight. lol I brought lunch to my college for my lab partner and I to share. The best pies in the world! Honestly, I love sweets and I have never had a better pie anywhere else. I always go for apple crumble and sometimes cherry, but I'd love to try some of the other berry pies! I wish I could eat a piece a day until I tried them all! lol I have a very weak stomach and I have tons of allergies and I never have any problems eating their sweets and pies even though it says it "May contain" the allergens. So I believe they are very good about not having cross contamination as I can smell my allegens from a mile away. lol Plus the sandwich I got had pesto on it, which will close my throat in minutes, and they made sure it was not on the sandwich. Plus they are sooo nice! The place is beautiful, I feel like I am some country home with 20 grandmas working in the back! lol I will always come back! There's nothing better than the Grand Traverse Pie Company!

Stopped in for lunch. Tasty food, great service. Outdoor seating was lovely and they let us bring our dog. We'd stop here again for sure!

Amazing! I had the caramel apple pecan pie. It was buttery, crunchy, sweet, delicious.

Great food, noisy at times at times. Hard to have conversation

Were going to visit a friend in Traverse City... and picked up a couple of pies to share... they tasted fabulous like always.

Ordered the Chicken Focaccia sandwich and the Apple Crumble Pie. The food was great, the service was great. I will come back!

Came for a quick bite in the afternoon and pie hit the spot. ABC (apple, blueberry, cherry) and strawberry rhubarb both quite tasty. Dining room was quiet and comfortable. Definitely worth the stop!

Excellent place for sweets and pies. The aroma you'll experience when walking in is terrific. The also have a large food menu but we didn't order any since we went there just for dessert. The pies and cupcakes looked and tasted great, but they are definitely very decadent and not not for the calorie shy. The restaurant was maintained very cleanly as well.

Best pie EV-ER. That being said, the experience was lacking. We had eight people in our group, and we placed and paid for a total of three separate orders. Within our three orders there were four mistakes. That ratio is a bit high especially considering the prices we paid. My complaint is not with the prices however if I wanted McDonald's service I would have gone there instead. There was Mayo on two sandwiches we ordered without, with one sandwich specifically ordered "plain, only meat and bread". We also ordered a pie and asked for whip topping on the side and they put it on the same dish covering the side of the pie.... We had a lactose intolerant person with us so that obviously didn't work. We were also told they didn't have a certain pie yet a couple minutes later a different cashier was able to place the order and serve it. I expected more.

I go for the oatmeal for breakfast. The pie is great but too much pie gets me in trouble with my doctor

This is the one to go to! All the staff are very friendly and explained what a pasty was, I didn't know. Great food. Wonderful pie!

Just picked up my lunch at the Grand Traverse Pie Company on Front Street. I ordered quiche and a slice of pie to go. When my name was called at the food counter, I was handed a very small bag. I opened the bag and in a small plastic container was my quiche with a slice of banana bread on top in the container. Both the banana bread and quiche were completely flattened. When I asked about the missing slice of pie I was told to go to the pie counter. Why couldn't I receive everything in one bag, packed properly at one place? This use to be a favorite place for lunch, but after the last couple of experiences I'll think I'll go elsewhere.

Absolutely horrifyingly. Is this a pie? We found it at a Meijer. The instructions said to bake at 350 for 25 minutes so we assumed it s a pre-bake sort of deal. The crust was absolute goo and the pie was oozing out oil after sitting in the oven. It was really hard to slice and after a couples bites in turned into this unrecognizable bowl of mush. My stomach is churning now .

Good ply and sandwiches to parking is a little hard but get there early before lunch and you got it made

Lakeshore Berry is the BEST. Unless you ask my fiance, who would say its Rhubarb Strawberry.
