Food was fantastic, and Christmas decor was quite the sight too. Didn't stay overnight, but based on the quality of the dining area, I can only imagine what staying overnight would be like! Maybe I will in the future for a special occasion.
The service was impeccable. The grounds are beautiful. It was a wonderful time.
The resort is very nice, well maintained and very helpful staff. It's a bit pricey both for rooms as well as for food on-site and there isn't much around unless you have a car. It's also pretty far from the closest airports, which could be either a good or bad thing.
Front desk told me there was no driving range for the golf course, of course there was. I spent an hour carry my clubs around looking for it. Our room is very disturbing with trash on the floor. The corners are especially dusty, dirty, and gross. The hallways smell like mildew, and they also smell like bleach to cover up the mildew smell. The service at the restaurant was awful on Saturday night. We had to wait 25 minutes after we sat down before we could order. Dining with a two year old child is very difficult when you can't order food. We left the restaurant before our food arrived. We were seated at our table for an hour when we had to take our screaming two year old outside. We ordered room service when we got back to our room, so we paid for dinner twice. It was very frustrating that none of our keys worked. Many many other guests had the same problem. The front desk continually told us that the keys should work and we were just unable to use them properly. We left our doors unlocked because we wanted access to our room and grew tired of the front desk telling us that we didn't know how to use keys. The dudes at the golf course were very nice, polite, and helpful. When we exited the building there was more often than not someone smoking right outside the door. The club sandwich from room service was very good. The turkey was smoked, and there was just a little bit of mayo. Golf course and club sandwich were good, hotel and restaurant made us wish that we had stayed home. We have reservations for another night, but we are going home today. If we can't get a refund, that's fine. At least we will be back at home.
Very nice rooms. Overpriced. The Starbucks in the lobby is not a Starbucks. They wouldn't take my gift card.! The barista said they were some entirely different brand, yet they have Starbucks signs all over. Been staying here twice a year for over 30 years. Always enjoy my stay.
We flew into the onsite airport for lunch and had a great time. The service was great! The runway and taxiway could use some work but it's still a great place to check out. We can't wait to come back again.
I really wanted to like this place (mostly because I'll be back in a month for work). However, a number of things ruined it for me a bit. My biggest problem was that within 15 minutes of me getting into my room, 3 separate hotel employees walked into my room without knocking (I was getting up to deadbolt the door when the last guy walked in). One said they were a supervisor checking rooms, one apologized and said she thought it was unoccupied and left, and the third was a guy wanting to replace a lightbulb who had to be asked to leave.
The second problem was with the private yoga class our group had set up. The instructor was sick, and I do understand that these things happen, but they didn't handle it very well. I wish they would have called us to let us know so we could choose another option that morning. But they didn't inform us until we were already in the yoga room, at which point it was too late to catch one of the other options. So they had a girl lead us through a "yoga style stretching class". And that would have been fine, but this girl clearly didn't know what she was doing and had no business teaching a class.
The food our group got was okay, but the staff couldn't accurately tell us which items were gluten free. One of our group has a severe gluten allergy and therefore couldn't eat much.
The only pros I had for this stay were the fire pit, which was lovely to sit around for the evening, and the view from my room, which really was very nice.
Husband Dwayne Boothe and I had a great week/weekend with you all there for the Con be back next year for sure!!

Visited last week for my friend's birthday celebration. stayed there for 3 days. it was beautiful place. had a great time there with my love and friends. I will always stay here whenever I'll go to Lake Geneva.

Spent my birthday weekend there and truly enjoyed it. Loved that the outdoor pool was heated and could go for a swim despite the chilly weather. Loved the activities: rented some bikes that we took for a ride to Lake Geneva and did some archery. Rooms and hotel itself a bit "aged", could use some refurbishment.

Enjoying early Sunday morning brunch with a view at the Grand Cafe. Delicious selection of ingredients for individually prepared omelets. Yogurt, fruit, cheeses, pastries, potatoes, scrambled eggs, bacon. Gracious service. Early bird discount appreciated.
Had a wonderful stay. The beds were extremely comfortable. The food was excellent! Would definitely stay here again.

Pretty crowded...lotsa kids. Better make dinner reservations if you want to eat anywhere there before 8:30.

Nice atmosphere. Room needed some maintenance done. Got sick at the chophouse, so my stay didn't go as planned. The lady working at the coffee shop was a little rude but the staff working in the lounge area and club room were super nice.
Let me preface and say my husband & I enjoyed our visit. We are middle-class parents and don't normally splurge on a weekend resort getaway, so this trip was a rare child-free treat for us. We celebrated our anniversary with spa/massage packages, dinner, and a magic show.
The spa was very nice, though they seemed to need a bit of improvement on time management. No one got me for lunch so I sat not knowing where to go. When I finally got my lunch they thought that I had to pay for it (it was included in the package). Overall the spa staff was amazing, warm, inviting, etc.
Toilet paper and tissue is darn near 1-Ply. I know it can be a big expense to get quality toiletries in mass quantities but it's a resort, not a motel.
The dining room/restaurant was weird. We were asked if we had a reservation (we didn't know we needed one) and they said next available was 7:30pm. The magician was at 8pm so that wasn't an option. Then the hostess says we can order the same menu from the dining/bar area next to the restaurant. The whole time we enjoyed our meal, the restaurant never filled up. So it was a little put-off-ish. However we must have made an impression on a couple at the bar because they bought us a round of drinks. A huge thank you to those folks!
The magician was HILARIOUS. We thuroughly enjoyed his show. He engaged everyone in the audience and was just the right amount of comedy.
The bed was very comfy especially since we got to sleep in (as much as any parent can lol). Thank you!
Lovely surroundings, fabulous amenities, knowledgeable, courteous and professional staff. Rooms are nicely decorated, well laid-out. Walls are a bit thin... I heard personal conversations being had in both of the suites next to ours. Waterpark is cute.
Great place but it s too crowded. The staff messed up or BF cause there were way to many orders....my friend ended up not eating anything after waiting 40 mins for her breakfast. Services need to be improved...

We been here before and it has been lovely. However each time has been less than the last... and this time... salt. The service was great, decor too. But the taste was all salt. It makes me sad to see just a nice just not able to deliver.

I was here for an annual holiday party. Beautiful place to visit if you have never been. Great staff, very friendly and helpful. The food is fantastic.
We come here every year for the last 7 years for the soberfest event, and it is so magical seeing all the Christmas decorations! Every year it is a great jumpstart to get me in the mood for the holidays. The rooms are clean and cozy. I prefer eating at the restaurants than the buffet. We also joined the private club you have to pay extra for. It is a room where they have something to snack on between meals. For breakfast the club normally put out 1 choice of meat, eggs, cereal, yogurt, and fresh fruit. For Dinner they have an appetizer, usually something with meat in it and a side to go along with it. Unlined water was also provided. Can t wait for next year!
The place is huge! It's a little outdated, the rooms had a bit of an odor and while we turned the av AC down, it was still a little stuffy. It was confusing getting from one place to another, but the staff was very helpful.

The place is beautiful and the room is very comfortable, however the food and other services are quite expensive. I understand hotels usually charge more than average but the amount they charge comes close to gouging.

This place is amazing for all ages. The 1st night we stayed with holiday inn(witch is a very nice room) and hung out at there pool there. It's a fun pool I think it was 3'-5'. They also have a kiddie pool that line 3" to 1.5'. And theres a big hot tub also. The 2nd and 3rd night we stayed at timber ridge witch is by far the best hotel I have ever stayed at with the super amazing staff a n d there extremely amazing water park. We will be coming back often
This is one of the resorts thru holiday inn that we can come to, and it's always great service, atmosphere, quite and amicable! I can honestly say that it's one of our top places to escape for a few days
Great service, great food, great resort! Only downfall the rooms walls are thin. I woke up to my next door neighbors, their kids, hard every word in their conversations, bathroom door slamming and couldn't go back to sleep in the morning due to it... Kids run around EVERYWHERE. If you prefer a get away with the spouse, consider this is a family resort and many parents don't consider the fact that their kids treat the hallways like a playground.
Thought it was top notch hotel. Very clean and it had that hotel from The Shining vibe. Very cool that it used to be the Plant Club once; cheesy, but retro enough to be cool.
Great facility, wonderful piano player on Thursdays in the main bar off the lobby. Check it out.

Everything was excellent from the rooms to the Geneva Chop house. If your a smoker the places to smoke are a little inconvenient. Stay away from the Grand Cafe, absolutely disgusting with poor service to match.
Very nice resort. We visited over the Thanksgiving holiday and had a catered private Thanksgiving dinner. Large spacious rooms with smart TVs and comfy linens. Lots of restaurants and bars to choose from. Friday nights they had a DJ in one fo the bars for a dance club type atmosphere. They also have a private club room with free breakfast, snacks and happy hour treats with reduced drink prices, well worth it. There is a great spa onsite. Due to the weather we didn't get the opportunity to enjoy the outdoor activities such as gold and the ski hill.
Went there for the 4th of July fireworks. The show was spectacular. They really do a great job.
This resort is huge, with all kind of activities available, like at the entrance there is a horse stables where you can learn to ride, there is 2 x 18 holes golf course,etc. The golf course I played was Brute, impeccably maintained, even the sand bank was so soft. The only complain is that some part of the course were soaked wet..some water drain issues... other than that, the course looks beautiful and staff is very professional.

Lots to do. Great views and fun activities for the kids and adults. Go to the main desk and ask about what's going on. Make sure you have deep pockets or a good credit card.

The staff was absolutely wonderful! I love to the Personal Touch of getting a text after checking in to make sure it was the right cell phone number and knowing that I could text them if I needed anything. Rooms were clean and the food was good.
Close to Chicago, so it's convenient to get to. The rooms are OK, just like a typical hotel. The resort itself is nice with a lot of activities and amenities (water park, pool, spa, gym, golf courses, etc). The Highlands golf course is nice and well maintained. Grand cafe has a nice breakfast buffet, and the Geneva Chophouse has really good food, too.
Went for the Abominable Snow Race and used the spa services after. They were great first rate
I was only there for a wedding, but the food, drinks, and staff were great. The worst part was figuring out where to go when we got there.
Great stay, seemed a bit understaffed at the pool though.

Enjoyed a great Father's Day dinner in the Geneva Chop House. It's still recognizable from my visits when it was a key part of the Lake Geneva Playboy Club.
Choices are pricy, but my boneless ribeye with scallop upgrade and side of mixed mushrooms melted in my mouth! It was so generous, I was able to enjoy the other half at home.
Wait staff was very attentive and our waitress wouldn't deny she had worked there during Hefner's rain.
Stayed at one of the villas and it was pretty nice. Great location and house keeping was extremely attentive. Could use some new paint and my bedside lamp was completely broken.

The old Lake Geneva Play Boy Club under new ownership and management have created a fabulous get away vacation spot. Located north of Chicago near Lake Geneva town and lake, it features two beautiful challeging golf courses. Lots of dinning and drinking venues, large pool area and health spa facility are available. Winter Ski Hill and landing strip small aircraft can be accessed as well. I enjoyed my room with European style bedding and nice hot showers in very clean room.
