I've been there many times. The staff is on the whole friendly. I don't understand the negative reviews, just because someone had bad experiences, I think it's unjust to stamp the entire staff. Everyone is in a worse and in a better mood, we all know that.

But I went there alone and I can say no trap no scam, just another casino like others. I used a free entry ticket that they gave me in the hotel and got also a free drink. Paid 2CHF to the clockroom to keep my backpack. And I lost 40 chf playing roulette and blackjack. But i has fun there and it was the main reason i went there.
The only thing is that i feel in this casino the obly thing missing is that the staff could be more friendly and welcoming! People go to casino to have fun, not just to see some sad faces and play...

In my opinion it is a very good casino. However, against Las Vegas it's a bad one (you have to pay admission for which you leave a lot of money in the casino !? something especially if you ask me.
In addition, it has little choice of slots, is quite small and a bit boring. If possible, prefer not to (generally) play in Switzerland, it is overpriced anyway.

We were the first time in a casino on European soil. We always play in Las Vegas Nevada USA. Although the casino is called Grand Casino, it is never and will not be anything like a comparison to Vegas. But otherwise to look it completely o.k.

The fact is the following (based on my own experience and opinion):

1. CASINO EMPLOYEES
Casino employees are becoming fewer and fewer, and the operation at the machines leaves much to be desired. Probably for reasons of cost (save staff), ticket machines have had their payouts increased from CHF 1000.00 to CHF 2000.00, which means that staff will have to pay less. Furthermore, the cleaning team was replaced by an external team, which is probably also done here for reasons of economy - these people are mostly unfriendly and "unpleasant" when emptying ashtrays.
Staff at the "bank" are often unfriendly and annoyed - it is clear if there are 15 people and only one cash register / bank is open. We also noticed that the staff is hardly Swiss anymore - nothing against foreign employees, but in a Bern casino I expect Swiss German as a duty for the employees - finding a Swiss German-speaking employee (whether bar or casino) will be relatively difficult.

2.WINS
The profits from the machines have declined massively in recent years. The payout rate is said to be 94-96%. However, it seems to me that the slot machines are completely "remote" -controlled from the computer and no longer independent as before.
