Booked a show a few hours before start time. Showed up at the theater and was greeted with a 'Show has been cancelled' notice. Was given a refund, but a bit unhappy that they didn't email me regarding the show cancellation.

CAme here for one of the Burlesque shows and the facility is a little old and cramped, but it wasn't a good show. It was terrible! I didn't care for it, but everyone else seemed to care for it. Hmmmmm....oh well!
I have seen a couple of shows here, and one was markedly better than the other. That said, either way you're in for a fun show (with boobies!) in an intimate venue. Hats off (tops off?) to the ladies who make these performances so entertaining and successful.
Came to Gorilla Tango for a Star Wars parody show and had an absolute BLAST! The script was hilariously well written, the girls did an amazing job, and we had such an awesome time! Please help support this super talented & creative group!
Went and saw the Back to The Future show, it was incredibly hilarious and just an all around great time. I showed up and realized I had bought tickets for the wrong month, but they were very helpful and accommodating. Will definitely be coming back!
This is definately a hidden gem in the city. I am from the southside and into the arts and this was my first burlesque show ever and it was great! you have not seen starwars until you have seen it set to classic R&B/Soul/Rock, and free spririted women who strut their stuff as if the party will never end. Oh and if you ever wanted to see a naked wookie then you have to go. Bring some tipping money (singles) becasue you will feel like a jerk for enjoying such a great show and not able to show your appreciation through helping them fund their productions. I will be back and I will contiue to expose my friends from my side of the track to this excellent genre and theatre. Thank you GT
Super Mario Burlesque, Batman Burlesque, and Star Wars: The Empire Brings Sexy Back Burlesque is just a good time for all the obvious reasons. They are all hilarious shows and really a better experience than one would get at a strip club. My buddies went there for a bachelor party and they were able to not only accommodate our number (I scheduled well in advance) but they were able to get us a nice group rate too.
Tickets can be pricey, but there are always promotional codes floating around so that your $35 ticket can get town to maybe $25; not bad for an hour and a half long burlesque performance. I highly recommend this for anyone who hasn't gone!
Love a place that caters to the artists who might not otherwise be able to afford a venue for their production. I've seen some hilarious comedy acts and musicals here. And the owners are awesome people themselves who sometimes put together their own shows... its a smaller intimate theatre so you feel close to the actors and part of the show. Going to catch one of their burlesque shows soon!
All in all, a tasteful experience. We went last year with a mixed crowd and could not believe how great the experience was. The best BYOB in town. The seating is similar to Second City. One of the funniest, sexiest, off the beaten path event in Chicagoland. I would recommend it to any 20 to 40 something in for a good time.
$20 for an hour+ of entertainment! A few friends and I went to see Fellowship of the Boobies. It was very entertaining even when you don't factor in the toplessness, my friends and I had a good time, even the one that didn't want to be there. The show was a lot of comedy with eroticism here and there (if it makes a difference). The show had a plot and slight audience participation. The girls have a lot of heart and their jokes fit in well to our group of nerds. Its a surprisingly teensy theater.
Not only have I seen a variety of shows at GTT, I've performed original sketch comedy shows here, too. It's a terrific non-equity theater with a wide assortment of productions for all kinds of (nerdy) people-- right in the middle of Bucktown, too.
Cool space away from the improv bubble that is lakeview/uptown. A awesome get away in a different part of town, cool improv shows and a great audience vibe. Definitely go here!!
Gorilla Tango Theatre is your Geek Performance headquarters! From their in house burlesque troop performing fabulous, and hilarious, shows based on everything from Doctor Who to DnD, to the performance groups who use the space to debut performances such as a musical based on "Full House" or Shakespeare done in bikinis, this is your place to geek out!
Don't waste time/money. Management is outlandishly rude and establishment is poorly run. Hey, do you like spending 30 dollars for mediocre show and being treated like you don't matter? Then come on down to gorilla tango. Don't support such a terrible business!
I absolutely love the theater at Gorilla Tango. "Boobs and Goombas" was the first show of theirs I saw and while I was initially drawn in by the thought of a Super Mario Brothers cabaret, I was enchanted by the incredible choreography and hilarious writing. I stopped by again to see their production of The Tempest, Bikini Shakespeare style - it was, by far, the best Shakespeare I've ever seen. Go. Go buy tickets right now. You won't regret it.
Saw "Boobs of Kahn" and the plot and dialog was very accurate and funny. Girls were not too enjoyable to look at. Sit further back from the stage if you don't want to choke on cellulite.
We came for a friend's birthday and we weren't sure what to expect but we ended up having a blast! We laughed, we cried from laughing so hard and we genuinely had a great time. The ladies were hilarious and if you like burlesque this is definitely a modern twist to it, you'll love it!
What a cute, small, and quaint spot! I had the pleasure of photographing a one woman show here and seeing a bunch of shows. It's a pretty small place, but can pack in quite a bit of people. The acoustics are pretty good and there is ample parking so it's not hard to catch a show. I'm curious so know how the burlesque shows are though.
My first burlesque show. We saw A Nude Hope (Star Wars parody) My sides actually hurt the following day from laughing so much. I had a great time and suggest catching a show if you can!
We saw Game of Thongs here for a bachelorette party and it was fantastic. The show was hilarious and creative, I want to see the Batman and Star Wars themed ones!
Gorilla Tango Theatre in Wicker Park/Bucktown off of the Western Blue Line has established itself as burlesque theatre central. Want to see Batman Burlesque? Go Gorilla. Want to see Republican Party Burlesque? Go Gorilla Tango. Want to see a one-woman show in which the actress can impersonate every Simpson s character flawlessly? Go Gorilla. It has an ever-changing schedule, so predicting the level of the night is impossible. At most, you ll pay $10. It s worth it.
Cute little burlesque theater. The ladies work hard to put on a good show and everyone seems to have a good time. You can get a drink, watch a show and have a few good laughs. Don't forget to tip well.
Saw The Trial of Logan Wicker Buck and loved it. Funny antics, clever puns and great music -- not to mention quality homemade puppets and props that take you into the scene of the story. Worth checking it out for sure!
