Can someone please explain what is the point in offering points for your time? Do these points have any monetary value? I understand that you get badges for views but can you cash it in for google play, google music ect.

The Local Guide program is rewarding individuals for reviewing places they have never been (Good or bad) and have made Google reviews suspect and untrustworthy. The system goes so far as to prompt people to review places they are near and have never actually been to. Disappointing as I used to have faith in the reviews I read. *Case in point*. Read the reviews below like it looks like a good place to work . Seriously?!
Why does Google Thornton, in the middle of a severe statewide drought, water it's huge Thornton campus every day at the hottest part of the day? This is frickin' Google- they can't figure out a smart watering system? Or use some of their bazillions to xeriscape their property? Their ridiculously huge lawn is turning brown anyway, because the millions of gallons of water they spray is just evaporating or blowing away before it hits the ground. Don't be evil, and do the right thing, Stop being so wasteful.
Looks like a neat place to work, seeing as there were disc golf baskets outside around the building.
