I'm torn about this one.........
We went on the Good Times III dinner/dance cruise with 24 family members as part of a long weekend family reunion. Although many family members live nearby, it seemed like a fun thing to do with a group.........and it was. We had a blast. The weather cooperated, the dance music was fun, the beer and wine available for purchase was decent, and not overpriced, and the scenery was lovely. I had no idea Cleveland was so pretty from the water.
The experience was only marred by the almost unpalatable meal that passed for dinner. I don't think anyone was expecting fine dining, but this food was straight from a high school cafeteria. The roast beef (you were limited to one slice per person) was tasty enough, but the gravy was awful. My husband referred to the potato wedges as salt bombs. I passed on the mushy rigatoni, but the low point of the meal was the "cheesecake" for dessert. It was laughable. No one could believe how bad it was. To me, it tasted like whipped margarine, salty, not sweet. It was topped by a thick brown liquid, purportedly some kind of fruit sauce, that did absolutely nothing to improve the flavor. Scanning the room after dessert, one saw table after table of cheesecake with one bite taken out of it. What a waste. I'd take the boat trip again in a heartbeat, but take a pass on the dinner, unless you liked high school cafeteria food : )
