I have been involved twice with Good Sam, once with a client I was sitting with and again with my father. I could not have asked for better people to work with, the case worker, nurse and aide. They were all caring and the morning dad passed the nurse was there as fast as she could be. I highly recommend them.

My Mother had dementia and lived in a long term care facility. After a fall she was no longer able to walk and was deteriorating so we called in Good Sam Hospice. It was the best decision for her care. The nurse was so responsive to each change she had in condition. She was very kind and supportive of me as well. The bath aid was exceptional. The aid was so patient with her and so attentive. I was so happy that Mom was clean and groomed. The social worker called me on a regular basis and stayed with me in her room when she was showing those end of life signs. The admitting nurse was also so kind and patient in explaining everything to me. The volunteer I talked to on the phone was also so kind, re-assuring, and supportive. Even after Mom died, they still reach out to me to give me support. I highly recommend Good Samaritan Hospice.

As a volunteer with Good Samaritan Hospice it's a great feeling to be able to help those in need even if just for a few hours. It's a wonderful company with concerned employees. I feel blessed to be able to do this.

I have been a volunteer with Good Sam in different capacities for years. Currently, my dog Roux and I provide pet visits to interested patients and their families. Good Sam was involved when my ex husband died in 2004 and when my husband died 5 years ago. I have been a supporter of Good Sam personally and professionally for almost 20 years, and am honored to be a small part of their mission, to help folks live fully until they die.

Only giving 1star so I can leave a review, had the about a week the bath ads and some of the nurses are nice. Accept for one person that seem to be to trying to steam roll over going against prescription meds and telling me this is how we doing it. The worst experience in my life trying to take care of my mom how has dementia an having Roanoke County social services called on you because they telling them I am not taking care of her. At this point in my life I m about lose it with them emotionally going through this being they are to be here to help take care of her. Just now was told by the hospital that they quit and don t want to take care of her. Yeah great service and why are you in business again....... stay away from them they don t respect the family wishes and if they fell will call Roanoke County social services on you to get there way. I am going reach out and file a complaint with BBB and how they are lie to Government official to make it hard you to take care of your family members final days and family wishes. Shame on you you should close the doors, an if it has become my goal to see that happens if you keep pressing on. Stay away from run and find someone else who real cares.

My husband, Charlie, was a resident in a local long term care facility for almost three years due to hip fracture and resultant complications...it was then that he was diagnosed with a new, rapidly growing pancreatic mass, presumed to be cancerous, but untreatable. He decided to return home and enjoy his remaining time with family and friends. He had me contact Good Samaritan Hospice because he had heard so many good things about them. And Good Sam was wonderful!! From day one until his passing, they were respectful, kind, attentive to his needs, and supplied him with all needed equipment, meds, nursing care. He enjoyed their visits and appreciated their help. They were also there for me, even after his passing. I was so impressed with Good Samaritan that I entered their volunteer hospice training program and am now a volunteer with this excellent organization.

I cannot sing Good Samaritan's praises enough. Thank you Allie, Tammy and Vanessa for the care and attention you gave my Dad, Jerry, in his final days. Allie presented my Dad with a Navy blanket and a certificate in honor of his military service to our country. I will carry the star from the flag you gave us forever Allie. Chaplain Tammy really listened and said a very special prayer for Dad. Nurse Vanessa went above and beyond to provide comfort and care and really took time to inform me of the process. I witnessed all of this 1st hand. Thank you Ladies. Mark
