We just got solar panels installed on our roof in Normal Heights and couldn't be happier. If you priced solar even just a couple years ago, and thought it too expensive, try again. Prices have dropped so dramatically that it now costs more to NOT do this! Golden West Energy did a fantastic job for a great price. The initial quote even offered tips on financing, with several scenarios on loan payments compared to our average electric bill, so it was easy to see the cost effectiveness of the various options. Scott and his staff kept in communication through the whole process. The actual installation was done ahead of schedule. We had a small problem that cropped up after the city inspection that involved a bad switch, that Scott diligently worked on over several visits to analyze and make sure everything was perfect. How they handle a problem for me is how you separate a good from a great contractor. This is one of the great ones.
