One of our favorite places to visit in Perth! So much history, so much gold! My kid was thrilled to get a present from the Mint-coin.
Interesting building with a purely commercial background.
Interesting tour and informative with a shop and Cafe', well worth a visit
Wonderful experience through the gold mining history of Australia. You can shop beautiful ornaments and some special edition designer coins. There is guide who explains everything about the history along with a short demo on how they process gold.
Very interesting visit. Lots of coins to buy. Need a big pocket full of money to shop though.
A truly educational experience. Can get a little over crowded at times. The staff are very friendly and informative. Enjoyed my time here
This place is great. Well relatively speaking. This place has a great place where you can actually see them pouring gold and remedying it again which is fascinating. This is where there is a huge gold coin that is to scale. The place has character and it is really good
Stopped in while exploring Perth. Was absolutely brilliant. Nominal fee for the tour, and very well worth it and would classify the mint as a 'must see'. Highly recommended.
Good place to visit but extremely exxy if you wanna buy some jewelry
I was bored at first, but I loved seeing gold bullies.
It was a great experience to make commemorative coins.
The cost of the tour and the main subject is expensive, but there are many types, so a reasonable price is worth commemorating ^^
Recommended going in the morning since nothing else happens before 11 in Perth on the weekend
Really great tour by Greg Definitely recommend a visit!
wow this place was really epic, would recommend anyone in the area to come here as it was such a joy to come here
Fun and interesting experience. Good for young and old. You aren't able to enter without being part of a group, which leave on the half hour i.e. 10.30am, 11.30am. Involves a presentation and good pouring example. Easy to spend 30-60 minutes here.
A good solid afternoon outing I enjoyed it. The guided tour is really very good and the guide we had has a wicked sense of humour that probably made, in most peoples eyes, a boring topic quite exciting. I'd recommend a visit to any locals as well as Perth tourists
Great place to go, tour was very informative and loved watching the gold being poured.
One of the best places in Perth you can visit. Definitely recommended it
The Mint should be a must-see for Perth. The ticket is only $ 15 and the knowledge and values you get after sightseeing are priceless. It is a pity that there is no such museum in Poland. I recommend it with a clear conscience, no time or money!
Had tour including gold pour and guide was informative.
The staff are very helpful and polite and great to deal with.
Best customer service. Very helpful and patience. They gave me very good advice fo not go to buy the gold online. Because it might be fake and without guaranteed.
Our tour guide was knowledgeable and entertaining, involving the group in her presentation to keep everyone highly interested. There was a great mix of structured tour, along with plenty of time to explore on our own and get involved with the interactive activities.
The Perth mint was interesting to visit with a lots of information about the history of gold in Western Australia. The gold pour, the one million dollar coin and the gold bar you could feel the weight of were interesting.
I thought the tour guides did an excellent job. Overall I think tour was a bit over-priced.
Great tourist attraction with a few good items including the world's largest gold coin. Tour includes a gold bar pour too
Very informative and the staff were amazing. Very knowledgeable but also very welcoming and interesting. I love that they make a big deal of the kids at the end of the tour presenting them with a pure plastic gold medal! Just awesome! Had a fabulous time, the gold pour was also very cool and the exhibits were excellent!
You can gain arsenal of knowledge here. If you are fond of coins, and would like to know more about the production of coins or minting, this is the place for you. For coins, bullion collectors, you can purchase coin cards, and silver/gold bullion. Fantastic place!
If you're going to go definitely book the tour! It was great to learn about the history of gold in WA. They have a live demonstration of a gold bar being made. Also you'll see the biggest coin in the world!
Went to sell gold, incredibly friendly and helpful staff, even the security guards, great experience
Frustrating to open online account but eventually someone contacted me and fixed it.
I visited the mint while on holiday in Perth. It was great. The tour guide, Nathan, was amazing. He was enthusiastic and entertaining. He had plenty of historical knowledge and also was a master at the gold pouring. He gave a great show when making the 6kg gold bar. Nathan definitely made the tour fun and enjoyable. There were a few fun activities to do during the tour too. Lots of fun.
Visit very enriching by the historical side and the know-how of these craftsmen, beautiful coins to discover and especially the most beautiful big coin in the world bearing the image of Queen Elisabeth. Also these unique pink diamonds in the world. Although there is no translation into French the visit with demonstration of gold casting is worth it ......
A great venue to take your kids or grandkids where they can see the most expensive coin in the world, see what their weight in gold is and experience gold being poured.
So interesting and the heaviest gold coin in the world!
Nice place, I took my kid there to show him how currency is made and give him a little history about Perth . Nice few hours spent. And its not far from the city.
Newly renovated exhibition area with an Iconic 1Ton gold coin.
THE PERTH MINT HAS BEEN OPEN SINCE 1899
THIS IS A GREAT PLACE TO VISIT, THEY HAVE DAILY TOURS,THAT ARE VERY INTERESTING.
THE LAST TIME I WENT THERE, ON A FRIENDS ADVISE, I TOOK SOME OLD GOLD JEWELRY, AND A GOLD WATCH CASE. YOU GO TO A SECTION WITH COUNTERS,AND YOU FILL OUT A FORM,
THEY DETERMINE THE WEIGHT ETC, THEN TELL YOU HOW MUCH MONEY THEY WILL GIVE YOU,
I GOT A SHOCK ,IT WAS A DECENT SUM WHICH THEY PAID BY CHEQUE.ITS SUCH A NICE BUILDING,JUST TO VIEW THAT IS WORTH A VISIT
If you've ever wanted to see gold being pored, this would probably be the best place in Western Australia to visit.
There's some displays on the tour, allow approx. 1hr to look at & read the displays.
Good for Children & Adults to visit, reasonable tour price.
Fantastic tourist destination. Great tour and exhibition.
Our guide, Greg, was excellent. Made the tour really interesting. Well worth the money. Would highly recommend!
Just average. But it's good if you are looking for gold items.
Holiday family outing place. Simple performances and accessories available
Must see if your are in Perth . The oldest gold mint and other precious tresor . Suitable for all age definitely in your must do visits in Perth.
You want to buy a nice gold or silver coin. This is the best place to do it. The latest Lunar 2 coins. Or some juwellry. Make a tour and see everything about gold.
I went here when i was 8 they gave me a copper coin pretty neat.
Interesting place. Can buy and sell gold and silver! Prices are reasonable. Plus of course you can buy jewellery. Admission price includes a tour.
$19 for adults 14 for kids..family passes ..great tour guides. Informative and fun tour..i think a must do
Worth a visit and foundry tour. Watch gold being smelted. Easy access from central Perth.
The Perth Mint is a fantastic place to visit in the city.
Not only is the building amazing but the tour is also spectacular with coins, bars, and huge natural nuggets as well as the factory making coins
You can hold a huge bar of gold that is worth AUD800k and see a AUD55,000,000 coin!
Our children loved it and we found the tour one of the best things we have done in Australia
Thoroughly enjoyed the tour. It lasted maybe 45 minutes and was to the point. Would like to have held the gold though to appreciate its weight!
Absolutely stunning attraction. Gorgeous jewellery. Very friendly staff. Always a treat to visit.
A must do. The tour guide Greg was great. Very informative. The building and gardens are beautifully kept.
We especially liked the gold pour. A worthwhile trip.
A great place to visit. From the rich history to the gold pour or the 1 ton gold coin this is a great place to add to Perth holiday
Great place to learn about the origins of gold, the smelting process and history of the gold rush in Perth. The gold smelting demonstration was awesome. You can feel the heat the moment the melted gold is taken out. Our guide, Darren, was funny and kept us well entertained throughout the tour. A must stop over, and you get to see the largest gold coin in the world on display, and it is real!
Popular with adults and children, the Perth Mint offers a fascinating glimpse into the history of gold in Western Australia. The Gold Exhibition displays the world's largest coin, weighing a whopping one-tonne, as well as gold nuggets and bullion. In the 1899 melting house, you can watch pure gold being poured to form a solid bar, and you can also ogle the largest collection of gold nuggets in the Southern Hemisphere. Hourly guided talks provide fascinating insight into the discovery of gold in the state and the history of the Perth mint, and the tours include a short film. You can even find out your weight's worth in gold. After your visit, stop by the gift shop for unusual souvenirs or enjoy a Devonshire Tea at the cafe.
A recent visit to the Mint finally ticked off something that has been on my bucket list for decades. Well worth the price of the tour, we were guided around by Nathan, who really is one of the nicest assets to be found there and definitely worth his weight in gold! (You can actually find out your own worth in gold... and I m not sharing mine with anyone!) Highly recommended for curious people from school age to old age ,
