What a wonderful and clean place to volunteer at. Everyone is extremely friendly and helpful! This is my first month and i already love it!
I start receiving my meals on September 4, 2020. Due to life threatening allergies I reported my all seafood allergies, and Celiac's disease (allergic to wheat, barley, malt). I'm hoping they provide Gluten Free meals. Please do not cross contaminate meals as I can die. Five starts for giving me a call back. Thank you .

God's Love We Deliver makes it easy and rewarding to volunteer at their Soho location. The renovated kitchens and building are beautiful. Lots of windows with sun drenching the late afternoon work. A nice break room to have a cup of tea or coffee after your shift. An easy location directly above the Spring Street stop on the C or E train.
Such a great team building experience! My team and I volunteered to pack the food kits and it was a great time. We had a bit of a learning curve, ensuring each order included the correct amount and correct kind of food for each recipient.
It was a warm welcoming, upon entering the building. The staff were friendly, patient and kind. You really got a sense of the amazing work being done there with the staff and all of the volunteers who walked through the doors. I look forward to doing this again on a more frequent basis.
Great place to volunteer and make a difference in our community.
Their greatest need is for volunteers to assist van drivers with deliveries and unless you are physically fit I wouldn't recommend it. It's a 7 hour day with many buildings without elevators as well as many housing projects in sketchy areas. The clients are used to seeing the drivers since there aren't many people who sign up for this assistant job. When they don't see that person sometimes they start freaking out and questioning his whereabouts. This happened to me on several occasions. The agency claims to provide all meals free of charge but this isn't the case. I took checks from a blind 92 year old for these meals. They also get compensated for their meals through Medicare Medicaid HMOs and insurance companies. There's a yuck factor to the food now. They have about 3000 clients so gone are the days of incredible hot meals and delectable desserts from a chef hailing from Switzerland and a professional desert Baker. We have Chef Daniel of Brooklyn now and everything is frozen and they rely on outside sources for cookies and cakes. With all.the food insecurity going on they still throw massive amounts of meals away when clients aren't home instead of donating them elsewhere.
Why does Gods Love We Deliver say their food is free? If a company bills Medicaid Medicare HMOs and Insurance companies like Gods Love does, that means that company is getting money for the meals. I also recieved checks from clients, mainly two ladies aged 90s. In the beginning Gods Love serviced only AIDS patients. They had a Swiss chef and a professional desert baker and clients recieved incredible hot meals and treats 5 days a week. With the expansion of the agency to include those with a myriad of life threatening illness they were forced to go 100% frozen. With the arrival of Chef Daniel and the fact that Chuck the Baker has retired combined with a client roster of thousands upon thousands, the taste and quality of this food has taken a nosedive but its a good option for those too sick too cook their own food.
Would definitely recommend this place for volunteering. They are really nice, the building of operations is fancy and it's so easy to do meaningful work.
A true loving and caring organization that helps out New Yorkers in need.
