I can never get any quality customer service when calling..I continuously get filtered back to the website..which is out dated an does not have current phone numbers for physician's. The reps on the phone just rush you off an try to get you to do everything but talk with them for clarity. Basically flagrantly disregarding your health an your concerns.
I just wonder if they realize if I was not having a medical issue that needs attention I would never be calling..can't wait to switch insurance carriers!

If you have any other choice for health care, avoid this one! I have never been this frustrated with an insurance! If they can avoid paying for something, they will. Every little thing needs a referral, and you have to jump through hoops to get approved! My husband needed surgery on a broken leg, it took 6 weeks to get approved for the surgery. Now they don't want to pay for his pain medication. I am so frustrated I could cry

Avoid at all costs. Even after going through for prior authorization, and speaking with the customer service reps at Global Health to be sure everything was in order I still routinely got hit with bills they refused to pay or bills for copays I had been assured by their own reps, quoting the pages from the coverage manual, that I wouldn't have to pay. On top of that they're slow to pay for what they do cover so I'd routinely get bills in the mail they hadn't taken care of yet and have to deal with the doctors and hospital's billing while also having to deal with Global Health.

I m really surprised at all the negative reviews. I ve had Global Health Going on two years and I haven t had any issues, I ve actually been pretty impressed. I just make sure I ALWAYS go to my primary care physician to get my referral to specialists, and once I get the referral, the only out of pocket costs I ve had are the copays for the specialist. I have a $0 copay to see my PCP and a $35 copay for specialists. But yes, I assume if you don t get the referral, then you re going to pay out of pocket costs, they make that very clear. I don t think I ve ever had to wait any longer than a couple of days for a referral, other than a referral for a specialty medication I couldn t get at the local pharmacy (that took about a week). I m definitely not dismissing others complaints, but I ve had such a good experience so far, I just thought I would post a review. I ve had several health issues this year, including a surgery, with no complaints. I have Global Health Federal.

Global Health is absolutely awful in paying out of provider claims. You have to file an appeal on every "notice of adverse determination". I finally got a hospital bill 15 months after the date of service from the out of network provider but never received an explanation of benefits from Global Health. Their customer service is terrible. They will tell you they will fix it then they don't.
I had to appeal several claims. But I found it interesting that only one was actually audited by the independent source to overturn the bad bills. I think Global Health only sent one up to them to see what they decide so they would not see all of the appeals that were made. Global Health then paid the others immediately.
To say they are shady is an understatement.

My family is on GlobalHealth and we love it. It's nice to have a local service and their attention to the details is important for us. If we need anything we call or use their portal. Sometimes they proactively reach out to us, which is really nice. Our providers are accustomed to not having access to other insurance companies, but with Global, they do. We recommend it to friends and family all the time.
