The Global Development Network (GDN) is a public international organization that has been at the forefront of promoting high-quality, policy-oriented social science research in developing and transition countries for over two decades. Established in 1999, GDN has been instrumental in empowering researchers, policymakers, and practitioners to address some of the most pressing development challenges facing these countries.
GDN's mission is to support research that promotes better lives by providing a platform for researchers from developing and transition countries to engage with their peers from around the world. Through its various programs and initiatives, GDN aims to foster an environment where innovative ideas can be shared, tested, refined, and scaled up to create lasting impact.
One of GDN's core strengths lies in its ability to bring together diverse stakeholders from academia, government agencies, civil society organizations (CSOs), private sector entities as well as international development partners.
