Pauline the guide was friendly and knowledgeable. A throughly enjoyable experience!!! And if you can try the teapot whiskey, A taste like no other!
If you can only visit one distillery when you visit Scotland... make it this one!!!

Rightly one of the most beautiful distilleries in Scotland (certainly also worldwide)! Picturesquely located there is an excellent whiskey and if you feel like it, pushes in addition to the visit a small hike afterwards (or in advance). I like the 12-year-old very well, I get this now regularly. The visit is well done and there are depending on the booked variant also nice tasting possibilities!

We just visited the shop because we already had some other distillery tours last week. (now I believe we missed a great tour ).
The personnel was very friendly and I could also try the whisky and decided to buy a bottle of the 12 years together with some sweets. The t-shirts were also nice.
We have to come back soon to and Glengoyne for a tour and a self created bottle.
(Therefore, I hope the Brexit will be stopped, because the existing EU regulations allow me to buy up to 10 bottles without customs and tax )

Great tasting experience and the staff were all very friendly. The only down side is that they did not reserve any hand filled bottles to sell to those visiting the distillery. We were told they were all sold online because of COVID but that defeats the purpose of someone driving to the distillery and buying something unique. I understand that during lockdown that was the only way to sell them but other distilleries I've visited recently have at least set some aside for those who make the drive to visit them.

Great tour, amazing whisky. You can pour your own bottle straight from the cask and write the label. Tour was wonderful. Really easy to get to with good parking. No eating options but you won t care.

A perfect wedding anniversary present from my husband. We have enjoyed the private presentation held by Kenny and Arthur, two very welcoming and wide knowledged gentlemen, along the other friendly staff. The location is absolute superb, would like to come back.

Nothing better than sipping a beautiful single malt scotch whiskey at 10am in the morning.

A lovely small and local whisky distillery with an outstanding collection. Great place to visit and learn about the process of making whisky during a tour. Nice and helpful staff with good knowledge. Booking in advance recommended.

Amazing distillery with great whisky. It was great that it was a fairly small operation and the staff seemed genuinely interested in whisky. Wetried to the 21 year in the club house which was by far the best part.

Nice distillery shop but below average tour and the tasting was mostly unsupervised and little education. Much better at other distilleries. Attended a premier tasting in 2016 that is now discontinued. Beautiful whisky.

I've had my first ever whisky distillery tour here so my post might be biased but even compared to other distilleries I've seen after Glengoyne, I still think it's the most beautiful. The distillery is in a superb condition - the walls are pure white and look great in the pretty landscape. The tour was informative, too.

A great distillery in a beautiful location. We were a group of 10 that came for a tour and arrived about an hour early so the staff very kindly arranged for a tour guide to come and give us a private tour so we didn't have to wait around which was very nice. Our guide, Gordon D, was great, a good laugh and really knew his stuff about the distillery and its history and whisky in general!
Glengoyne's core range of whiskies are excellent, our entire group bought at least a bottle each!
Also, very easy to get to from the centre of Glasgow by train, bus or taxi or a combination of.

The Masterclass Tour was great. Our guide/tutor, Bill, was very knowledgeable, as well as witty and friendly. The best distillery tour, and I've done many, that I have been on. Felt more like short class than just a tour. If you really want to learn about appreciating single malt whisky, this is the class to take.

Learned to appreciate the aroma notes by sniffing them in their pure form. Made it easier to pick them out when nosing whisky. Glengoyne doesn't use peated malt, so don't expect Laphroaig or Talisker. Their focus is the barley, the still, and the cask.

Towards the end we blended our own whisky and were able to take our blends (200ml) with us. Also, took home a 21 yo Glengoyne at a great price. In the middle of the class, the Director of the tours popped in to say hello and introduced himself.

Beautiful location with waterfalls in back.

Went with three friends whilst in Scotland for the Scotland v England match. Although my friends are not into whisky as much as me we all thoroughly enjoyed the tour escorted by a knowledgeable guide called Helen.

We were here a few weeks ago. Loved the little tour by our lovely guide Gregg. With small jokes he made sure that he kept our attention. I definitely wouldn't mind returning to this distillery at all!

Great visit for humans and dogs.. even with Covid restrictions the guys enjoyed the tour. The dogs enjoyed the walk up the hill. Remember and check online before booking.. also beware of the inconsiderate folk parking on double yellows as you drive there.

Great location, amazing whiskey and very informative and heartfelt tour; the distillery is dedicated to original, high quality practices and it played an important role in the Highlands whiskey culture as well. The shop is also very cozy and sophisticated. On top of these, they follow high sustainable and circular economy standards, having even won an award for that! Highly recommended!

The Glengoyne Distillery Whisky Tour was a lot lot lot of fun. Very entertaining and great to take in the production, smells, and flavours of their whisky. I really enjoyed the nature around the spot too. What a lovely and peaceful place! And yes, it was necessary to have a walk around after the tour and hang out inside their shops lol

Awesome tour of the distillery!

Awesome tour of the distillery!

Even as a non-scotch drinking alcoholic, the tour was a great experience, and heaven forbid, even educational (the barrel ageing wall is very enlightening - see photo).

If visiting in winter, be aware the tour is not always that warm, so bring your jackets!

I only wish the drams of whisky were served at the same time so you could do a more direct comparison between the different vintages (we only did the 1hr tour - other tours may do this).

Highly recommended!

Our guide and the visit were great and informative.

I was very excited to purchase a few bottles for my personal collection and monthly whisky tastings with friends.

Turns out the shop was a tourist trap even with the so-called discount...very disappointing ending to a great whisky tour.

Excellent visit to an excellent whiskey distillery. I made the cheapest trip and I had a great time. Among the guides, there is a very kind girl who speaks good Italian (Antonia) and gave me a big hand seeing my bad English. I was there in June and it was not very crowded. I have no idea how it is July-August ....

Glengoyne is in a picture perfect location and has a tremendous history. We did the wee tasting tour and Arthur was brilliant in talking us through the Whiskey making process and why Glengoyne do it the way they do it. Definitely recommend if you have about an hour in the area - book online beforehand as it tends to get busy.

Very interesting place to visit. The staff is friendly and the tour through the distillery is really nice. Although it is all very commercial, the tour and information you get about the making of whiskey is interesting. You can choose between 3 different tours, the biggest difference between these tours is the tasting of more or less different kind of whiskey, depending on what you paid for the tour. At the end of the tour you get to the shop which offers you a lot of touristic stuff and a lot of whiskey of course. So if you accidentally pass along this place it is worthwhile to visit this place.

Took my Granda for his 75th Birthday and it was great. We went for the wee tasting tour at the start of November and it was a lovely drive to the distillery. It was nostalgic for my Granda and the girl that took us on the tour was really friendly and welcoming and spoke to us afterwards for a little while. Got him a lovely bottle and glasses afterwards in a beautiful box which he loves and the whiskey was great too. It really is a beautiful distillery and nice day out too.

A must see if you visit Scotland. Learn some of the process of making the most popular beverages in the world (apart from wine and beer), find out how to store and store for a long time and taste and some samples to find out the difference between them. At the end you can take home a bottle of the best whiskey to remind you of this memorable experience

WOW! I enjoyed this place so much and fell in love with the Whisky.
I took the gold medal parade tour and got to taste 4 different whiskys: 12 year old - great taste! 18 year old - Amazing! and the great 21 year old.
We received so much interesting information about the long tradition of Whisky production they have there. Stating from the casks and barley and till the end product, which is perfect!
Definitely recommended!

Beautiful distillery located on the border between the Lowlands and the Highlands.

Tour booked online in advance if necessary. to avoid disappointment. Fine settled further.

Tour is not very long or exciting but certainly informative there are fun and interesting places and moments for everyone.

We did the Whiskey & Chocolate tour and it was very nice. No standard glass tasting in the store but in the adjacent house in a nice sitting room all time and explanation with the different chocolates and matching whiskeys. Ergo certainly worth a stop and in the shop after the end more than enough souvenirs or bottles for sale.

Beautiful distillery hidden in the valley. But the staff were okay but not really welcoming. Does not seem they care but I guess that is normal for cash register but I would expect a friendly smile.

Easy to access from Glasgow via public transport. Has an amazing garden, a very informative tour through the whole production process and a great shop with a wide variety of different products and merchandise.

I have experienced wonderful drams of 30 year old whiskyachting around Vietnam, clinked glasses with the movers and shakers in D.C. all the way to being treated like royalty and living well beyond my means in Sing.. tasting some of the rarest whiskies known to man.

Nothing came close to the drams I had the fortune of tasting at Glengoyne.

.. it challenged everything I thought I knew.

I do not believe in reincarnation, but if by chance I am reincarnated. May it be a barrel of Glengoyne.

This was a great tour! The guides were all very interesting and kept the tour very light and fun. Really liked that this Distillery kept things simple as they had since its founding. Using a grinder made in early 1900s and not much computerization at all.

Best part of the tour was after the guide was explaining the aging process, and how the angel's share works. Someone looked at a barrel and back at the guide, and asked how they fit all the bottles in the barrel. I about fell over and the guides face was priceless!!

The guide even gave us a small sample of the 21 Year Scotch.....best thing ever!!!!

If you have a chance check this place out you will not regret it!

Lovely place. Best single malt 10 yr old scotch. Fascinating that the distillery on the north side is the start of the Highlands and south of the road where they house some barrels is not considered Highlands. Always a place in my heart for Glengoyne.

Didn t appreciate being screamed at by the tour guide in front of the entire tour group for taking a photo. Maybe you could treat paying customers with a little more respect - a simple no photos please would have sufficed. Their whisky and location is nothing special.

Our bachelor party of seven took the Gold Medal Parade tour. Our guide Fiona was very knowledgeable and friendly as was Rebekah, who kindly chatted afterward and everything we tasted (18 Year, 21 Year, Cask Strength) was delicious. The property has a waterfall and other scenic touches. Highly recommend.

First day of our travels through Scotland on a whisky tasting tour and Glengoyne was our first distillery. This quaint distillery is tucked away on the border of the Highlands. We arrived before the distillery opened for visitors, so took the opportunity to hike the surrounding countryside. The tour office offers a wide variety of tours, we selected the Wee Tasting Tour due to our time schedule. Our guide was knowledgeable and was very thorough during the tasting in the gift shop. We tasted a dram of Glengoyne 12 year and 18-year-Old Highland. There are many others you can taste for a fee. Take the time to stop at this beautiful distillery and taste its whiskies.
