The food is pretty good but inconsistent. The steaks can range from poor to pretty good. Pretty good service too but not great and the meals sometimes come out just as the rest of the table finished theirs. We still keep going there

This place is super cool. Proper pub with proper pub meals. I highly recommend the nachos as well as trying one of the happy hour specials. If you don't know what to do for lunch, get around the Glenferrie Hotel. I recommend it.

Checked in on Monday for 4 nights, checked out after one night.

The smell in the room plus general accomadation area was somewhat unhealthy plus the general standards were poor all round (cigarette butt in bedside drawer), the double glazing is actually a peice of secondary glass which goes against the windows. In the wardrobe there is no drawers for your clothes, if you are on a room overroad the main Burwood road it's noisy, every Tuesday the bar hosts a party night. In short the place appear to be a bar first (it looked nice) and the accomdation is a big afterthought.

Avoid. Seriously poor service. Waited an hour + for our meals tonight - not good with two kids! Then when my meal came (i got a steak, and paid $2 extra for a few boiled veggies instead of salad), it came with no hand cut chips. When i questioned it - waitress said it does not come with chips (which was a lie when i checked the menu). After complaining she bought out some chips. I know it is not individual staff members fault, but it was just a disgrace to lie when they got the order wrong. There are so many nice places nearby. You don't need this rubbish. Avoid

A+

After being double booked at a bar nearby, the Glenferrie Hotel saved my partners' birthday party. They arranged a table for us in an incredibly quick time and were able to cater to our group with exceptional staff and lovely service! Thank you Glenferrie Hotel for saving our night!

The host with the most was very hospitable with his Irish welcome. The meal was fine but I thought it was a tad over priced, but then again, I havent been anywhere else on Christmas Day to compare. Very noisy too. I wouldnt rush back at Christmas again.

Still have the same tradition feel to it. Good options on beer and alchohol in general. Food was ok, the same good old pub meal vibe. I'd go there for the setting and nostalgia of Univ days.

Not angry, just disappointed. Loved coming here in the past, however a recent encounter with an unbelievably rude staff member who showed no enthusiasm or passion for customer service ruined that reputation. Just a group of blokes coming for our first drink of the day and she couldn't get rid of us quicker.

Confy safe close to everything.

And gave me a place to see my daughters at uni. Thanks Lachlan and folks..staff really friendly

Nice pub. Few idiots when I was there, but you get that everywhere. This one time there, it was sighted that some ladies in lingerie were there. I didn't see this. And I am very disappointed in my fellow attendees for not pointing this out to me.
VERY.

I was a paying patron, from the beginning they were rude and aggressive towards my colleagues and I. I was using the lavatory, half way through a decent poo, a staff member entered the toilets, with full knowledge i was inside and turned off the lights. How is this acceptable treatment of customers. Appalling service.

Went to the bar to get a drink, I was sober, had just walked in after working and met a couple of people in the bar.
I asked for a drink and was refused service?
I was told I couldn't have a drink until one of the people I met there, who was intoxicated, left.
I didn't argue, I just found it odd that she put the responsibility of evicting them onto me and that I had been refused service because I was in the company of an intoxicated person.
Why did she feel it was up to me to remove them from the premises?
The bar person should have closed the bar and not served anyone if that was the case.

Always a nice place to visit for a drink or a meal: not cheap but food portions are generous and tasty! Friendly atmosphere and the duty manager (Lachlan) was great in accommodating our requests. Recommended!
