My acountant in that company was asleep at the switch, but he was always prompt sending me bills for extras. It was very disheartening & costly for the poor services I received.

Stay away. We used this group to file our taxes two years in a row. We should have noticed red flags the first year we used them. We are both medical professionals. Our taxes are pretty straight forward. We don't have any complicated investments outside of retirement accounts and IRA. Because of our high salaries we generally have a tax bill every year so we like to plan ahead and get our taxes filed as early as possible. The first year we used them, we basically had to hound the accountant, Steven Albert and his assistant as to when our taxes would be filed as tax deadline approached in mid April. We had completed their preparation packet with all our paperwork and sent it to them in February. One week before deadline we were either calling or emailing about when our taxes would be filed. It was one excuse after the other as to why it was not yet ready. They did eventually file a few days before the deadline.

The second year we used them same drawn out process of us pestering them as to when our taxes will be filed, only this time we get a notice from them one day before deadline that they have to file an extension. This I thought was absurd since we don't have anything complicated. The kicker is we had a tax bill and by the time we sent off the payment it was late so we had a penalty. Even for the extension we had to pester and make a complaint before they eventually filed it with one week to spare by the October extension deadline. We have since gone with a small mom and pop accountant at the recommendation of a colleague. The guy was professional and organized. He sat down with us and explained once he was done and filed our taxes in February. We would never recommend this group for any kind of accounting work, let alone financial services. Like mentioned already, their prices are exorbitant. There is a callousness about their service. They seem disorganized.

I am thoroughly disappointed in the service I received from a Principle CPA at Glass Jacobson. There were several inquiries I sent that would go without a response for weeks. It was typically once I sent a follow up (or multiple) that I received a response, which is unacceptable. For my 2017 taxes, I had to pay an increase to Glass Jacobson, and my taxes are not complicated enough to require such a huge fee. The kicker is that there was a $920 error in my return, and it was NOT in my favor. I only discovered this error when the IRS deposited my refund and it was an amount significantly less than I was told I would receive. I contacted the CPA at Glass Jacobson, and was not offered an apology nor anything to remediate the issue. I responded to this email requesting assurances this type of mistake would not occur again, as well as expressed my shock and disappointment in such a mistake. I have received nothing in response to my email. I shouldn't have to say this, but ALL clients matter - regardless of what class they are in. No client inquiry should go unattended, especially when paying a large fee for Glass Jacobson's service.

I (and my children) have been using Glass Jacobson(Ed Jacobson) for my accounting and tax planning(both personal and business) for the past 5 years. My tax returns have been filed in a very timely matter, and the instructions for filing, payments to IRS when necessary, and refund instructions are very simple ans easy to follow. This has made a sometimes stressful process much easier for me.
I had a few IRS questions and concerns in dealing with the estate of my father. Ed referred me to his partner who was more qualified to answer these questions. The 3 of us discussed the situation on a conference call, and their guidance saved us on estate taxes. And, by the way, I was never charged for consultation.
