Fun place great atmosphere I think the drinks are considerably overpriced for the size of the glass. The glass is literally the size of a Dixie cup.

The location is perfect, the room can have a little more tlc but the clubs in the basement is totally worth it!free entrance if you stay there.Would totally come back
Amazing bang for your buck... off season prices are unbeatable. Place is clean, parking available, breakfast served.
The rooms are a little dated, and could use some maintenance, but the staff is friendly and the housekeeping does a nice job of keeping everything clean. The problem is the outrageous noise. If you're planning on staying out every night until 1am, it's no problem, but if you're not, the mixture of piano bar melody and the thumping of bass from the club attached to the building are a great recipe for insomnia.
Very nice staff, had a great time.
Room was clean and had a nice view.room 17.AC was great nice and cold. Club purgatory was awesome as well. Staff is very helpful and accommodating, will definitely book there again. Great price for what you get.
- Staff nice and helpful.
- Rooms are on the 1st floor and are very old, noisy and rustic. No tv!
- From 10 p.m., loud live music from the foyer / reception area.
- There is a gay club in the basement, from which the bass is constantly booming up into the rooms. Dreadful.
+ + + Conclusion: not to think about sleep. Despite the nice staff, never again! + + +
One of the best piano bars I have been too. Their selection of beer is great. Ask the bar tender to surprise you.
Very friendly service, the singer was amazing. Restrooms are on the other side of the bar behind the pool table.
Only accepts cash and they do have a ATM. No cover.
The location is super convenient, a bonus however I've rated as OK. I think it's time for an update/facelift. The furniture in the room was old and dingy. My bed squeaked with every turn and it had some sag in the middle. The only toiletries were 2 tiny bars of soap. No a/c. CRT TV. Breakfast starts at 9, a bit late for me. So this spot might be good for you if you don't care about the items I've mentioned.
This has to be the best place to stay in all of Ptown. My room was so color coordinated that I knew I had landed in heaven.
Fantastic very clean rooms of great price and family friendly atmosphere you going to love it.
I went to a party in that place, the rooms leave a lot to be desired for what you pay
In general a nice place for you to visit
Yes I would definitely refer people to you and like the hospitality the location in the rooms thanks for all your hard work
Definitely debated the rating on this one and it could have been anywhere from 2 to 4.
Pros:
* GREAT location, one block to Commercial and all that it has to offer (shops, dining, entertainment, and people-watching).
* "In-house" entertainment options with a piano bar, porchside bar with pool table, and dance club if you just want to stay in one spot.
Cons:
* I say this first one cautiously, because I was warned twice, once at reservation and once at check-in. The club in the basement / ground floor is open 7 days a week until at least 1:00am. I underestimated the warning to mean that there would be a little noise; the entire building shook and earplugs didn't do any good.
* The piano bar on the first floor / lobby was a surprise (no warning at all) and I certainly didn't expect it to add to (actually overwhelm) the noise from the club until 1:00am on the second night of my stay. Had I know this was coming after my first night, I would have looked into moving to their "sister" inn.
* "Extended continental breakfast" offered 8:00-10:00am...which means you can expect them to start thinking about setting up at 8:15-8:30. Don't bother making your plans around this "amenity." I don't know if he was hungover, naturally surly, or both, but the staff member responsible for this task isn't the way anyone wants to start their day.
* "In-house" entertainment options essentially mean there is no security until they lock the doors at 1:00am. Superficially, there is someone at the front desk until that time, but I had people knock loudly on my door (second floor) both nights after midnight.
* No A/C in the room (a known situation when I reserved) meant keeping windows open for circulation and cool air. Unfortunately, the room was directly above the street with most of the inn's club traffic, so the loud noise from drunks continued until 1:30-2:00am (on a Wednesday and a Thursday night). Additionally, leaving the windows open forced the ceiling tiles on the bathroom to continually move and pop out of place, every time there was a breeze.
All in all, it's fine if you're here to party and will be out until after the bars close every night. If you want a decent night's sleep, however, look elsewhere. I can't imagine what it's going to be like later in the season when the crowds get here.
Very nice but dated . The music can be heard in the rooms late at night. The price is great so the dated rooms and loud late music may be a good trade off.
Nice friendly staff and great atmosphere to compliment this great town
Went for breakfast. It was some of the best hash and eggs I have ever had.
Cute, charming with its own character hotel. Clean rooms, friendly staff, literally 2 minutes to Commercial str and all the action. Affordable stay with breakfast. Thumb up!
The Gifford House is an older inn, but that adds to the historic charm. Harvey, Dave, Bob and the rest of the staff were awesome and make you feel right at home. They are all so tolerant and welcoming. Given the age of the building I was impressed by how quiet the rooms were. The rooms aren t updated but the prices are about 1/2 of the going rate for Provincetown and the location couldn t be better with commercial street only 500 away and the public beach just a 1000 feet. My only recommendation is to pay the extra for a room with air conditioning if you stay in July or August (I did). The Porchside Bar on the property is great if you want a drink to start or end your evening. The rooms and facility were clean and the COVID protocols were followed closely. Great place if you are on a budget, care more about location than accommodations or just love older historic inns!
The staff were very friendly and provided great service. We got to see a piano player performing while enjoying drinks.
Nice staff, convenient bar attached, gay nightclub downstairs if you're interested. Beds weren't the most comfortable, the noise travels up from the club, and the rooms get very dry.
Great location at the heart of p town. Great service. Warm interiors.
Gifford House was a fantastic choice- Their location is wonderful, the room we had was perfect, and the staff was friendly and incredibly helpful when there was a bit of a reservation mix-up. I loved my stay and would highly recommend the Gifford House to anyone visiting Provincetown.
We've stayed here from time to time. Excellent service and clean. Great location!
Great service, but kinda like staying at a Good will store.clean room super small soap low class towels and bed sheets .Skip the breakfast small frozen bagel boiled egg
Fun piano bar with a big porch for a breathe of fresh air. Second bar with pool table and games. Nice place to relax when it's crowded
Purgatory is always a blast - strong drink, hot guys, good music.
Thank you so much to the Gifford House Inn. We recently hosted our PTown Soccer Classic Banquet Dinner there over Columbus Day weekend. We appreciate everything you do to make our Banquet amazing from the signs on the chalk board to how friendly the bar staff is. Thank you so much!
I was an idiot that changed plans twice, but only changed my reservation once. These guys stepped in found me a room and gave me a terrific room the next day. These guys are great.
Great place. Staff professional n kind. Love the Giffird House
Laid back, casual place for a drink. Occasional piano bar, depending on the night. Dance club downstairs
Great location in Provincetown. We had a great first visit and will definitely plan on returning.
Lovely house right off commercial street, great service and accomodations!
I love this place. It's like walking back in time. My room wasVery clean and the crew are always smiling. Definitely recommend
As long as you're aware that there will be noise downstairs until 1am, it's a nice place to stay. The staff were friendly and accommodating, and the room was comfortable, clean enough and excellently located. We would have liked to have tea/coffee/water available in the room. We were also disappointed to see disposable plastic utensils at breakfast, although this seems to be normal practice in the US from what we've seen.
Lots of noise from inn next door (even during covid) and noisy street.
Otherwise nice place and friendly service, charming building, amazing location.
Don't come here if you need quiet, otherwise it's great
The Gifford House is right in the center of town. Walking distance to all the attractions. The Gifford House is a clean and courteous establishment. It has an old world charm. They give you real keys to your room!
Great artwork on the walls, free pretzels, and a fantastic piano bar
Piano music nightly can be a bit loud in the lower rooms, but overall very friendly staff and great entertainment, included breakfast is varied, simple, and nice. Location is prime, right next to commercial St, and Spiritus pizza (which is open till 2am) is always a nice place to stop by
Very nice n clean n comfortable. Enjoyed my stay. Customer service was good
