They took service and ice cream to the next level! These ice cream are unique. Have to try it at least once. Our server was very profesional. She describe and every ice cream so prefectly.

The food that they make here is amazing. I would recommend going to everyone that is in Auckland or near.

Very very good ice cream - just a little too expensive

Get over yourselves! This is above par ice cream at best, stop pretending like it s an experience . The fast lane is a nice idea, but I just waited for 30 min for milk chocolate honey ice cream in a cone while one employee ran chocolate samples to waiting, one water. five in the kitchen, but it s a half hour ordeal on a slow night! Give me a break, man! You can Make you own ice cream faster at home from scratch

This is one of the best ice cream I have ever tried and hats off to the creators for the unique combinations. The flavor and presentation were remarkable and one of my best memories of Auckland. I tried the chocolate evolution and it was yummy. They also have so many options for cones to go with their ice creams that I was stunned by it. I even asked them to come to Sydney. I am looking forward to visit Auckland just for Giapo

This is honestly the most overrated place I have ever been to. I wouldn't mind the waiting and even the price is okay for the portion size you get I guess.
However, the icecream is AT BEST average. I tried the Afghan cookie, imo it didn't work at all with the toppings. Icecrem itself tastes just like any you could buy at the supermarket. Just apart from the fact that you can't eat it properly and half of it falls down.
The waffle tastes funny and not in a good way, if that's their freshly made one, I wouldn't want to try a processed one.
Overall I was very disappointed, maybe expecting too much having been to Italy a few times by now. There you can get icecream 100x better (and way cheaper) at literally every corner in every village.
2 star rating for the very friendly staff and good service, which included a tasting prior to choosing your icecream.

Overrated victim of its own success. Long history of awesome ice cream and great service. But the search for novelty has distracted them from the core business.

Best ice cream hands down. As soon as you enter the parlour, you are greeted instantly by staff and explained how the business works.

Firstly you are offered a taste of all 11 flavours with explanations of the ice cream and how the creator decided on the flavours.

You can go for a plain scoop on a cup or a cone although if your not a local, highly recommended going all out and ordering a sculpture. It's expensive although you won't see a place like this in the world.

Best ice cream ever. Seriously don't miss coming here! They gave us heaps of samples to try. We opted for 2 flavours in a cone. Each flavours has it's own special topping. Ours was served flambe. There are also some weird and wonderful creations such as a squid or a tower, and the option for a group to try all of the them

Very tasty, very friendly service and really unusual ice cream! It is a shame that the shop is not directly adjacent to a square or park, this could make sitting better while eating, but the ice cream and shop itself are great!

Here's a tip from a local, instead of waiting in queue go around the corner to the fast lane. You'll need to order from menu and don't get to try before you buy, but at least you get your ice cream 20 mins quicker.

I also noticed my single order went through quicker than groups of people, so order in singles if you are in a group of 2 or 3 to get yummy ice cream faster.

Incredible experience! The concept of ice cream taken to another level. They have only 9 flavors that let you taste. They explain the cones and flavors they offer, and how you can combine them. The ice cream is very rich and the experience is very beautiful.

Once you get in line they put you in a group and have you come up to the host stand where they bring out little cups of each of their flavors. They explain the contents of each cup as you are tasting it. Once you are done you choose your flavor(s) and the presentation, of which they have many options. My husband and I both got dipped cones (but different kinds), and they were so much larger than I expected! Good thing we didn't really have dinner that day. It was quite expensive but definitely delicious and an experience worth having! Be warned: it's a small shop and seating is limited. We were there on a Wednesday night and they were busy.

Though a bit pricy for an ice cream, really worth it!

Interesting concept store but a little too expensive at minimum $13-15 for a ice cream in cone and goes up to $30+ for the special theme ones.

It was too sweet in my opinion and we had to throw away the chocolate outer coating and the chocolate cups we paid for.

Giapo does a brilliant job of combining interesting and unique flavours, with the ultimate luxe experience. The ice cream is rich and creamy, each flavour comes with its own set of toppings, and you can choose something really over the top for that perfect Instagram photo, like a selfie through a chocolate frame. I do enjoy how the staff bring out a range of flavours to try, before you decide on which one is for you. This is not your average ice cream store, it doesn t have your typical flavours. The chocolate evolution was a stand out, incredibly decedent. Must try ice cream in Auckland CBD.

Come here if you want to picture an ice cream not to eat one. The taste is not that great but they make really big cones with beautiful toppings

Great iced cream but they always seem to run out of flavours or vegan cones. It's annoying especially given that the ice cream can cost $10-20 per person.

Giapo never let you down. It's pricey but well worth it. You get to try all the flavour before making a decision. Don't be put off by long line. It's a fast moving line.

Must have Ice Cream in New Zealand. This is a tourist attraction and our regular joint. We dropped a pin on this place since we arrived in Auckalnd in 2015.

Fantastic flavours, good fun trying samples before you buy, something a bit different and unique in the city of Auckland on my visit

My rating used to be a 5...and I used to recommend 'The Experience' to everyone! But with the new setup, the experience has disappeared. No tasting before buying which doesnt help with the new flavours for regulars who know the staples...the quality seems to have dropped too (melting far quicker, not as creamy as before)...such a shame.. shouldn't have changed a good thing Giapo.

the best gelato and ice cream I've ever had. I always go there when I pass through Auckland.

This is possibly the most expensive ice cream place I've been to, however they do a pretty good job to justify the cost. The service is top notch, they patiently explain everything about their ice cream just like a fine dine-in place. And most importantly the ice cream is amazing. You can definitely tell that they use fresh ingredients and it is super rich. A must visit for all ice cream lovers.

The ice cream is delicious and you get to taste ALL of the flavors. It's a little expensive, but worth it for the experience.

Feel welcome when entering the shop with the guidance of the staff we tasted few favours and it was awesome, we ordered the famous chch haz nut it was awesome and have not changed since I first had at 2014, they also decorated the ice cream just like an artwork and handed to me with a big smile. Thanks for a great ending of the day.

Very tasty, really an experience. There is ice cream to try. The scoop of ice was like that when I got it, that you could barely enjoy it anymore. But still very delicious! For a scoop of ice cream in the waffle $ 16 but is already a proud price.

Had heard great things about this place but have to say I was a bit disappointed upon visiting today. While the customer service was wonderful, I found a few issues. Firstly, that the parlour is too small, there is little waiting area, and little room to sit and actually eat your icecream. Secondly, i was surprised at the limited number of options/flavours on the menu. I believe the ice cream for what it is to be far too overpriced. In Wellington I can get the same thing in a variety of flavours in the same size for half the price, and the actual quality of the ice cream is exactly the same.
However, the biggest problem I had with it which lead to me not enjoying my visit was that my ice cream began melting almost instantly, leading the milk chocolate and toffee topping to break off and spill on me and land on the ground in front of me before I even had a chance to eat it. It was a complete mess. If one cup of hokey pokey ice cream was hard to eat I can t imagine what it would be like to order the colossal squid or sky tower.
I m very sorry but this was not an enjoyable experience for me and from reading other reviews it seems that other customers seemed to have had the same issues.

Unfortunately I think this really is somewhere you go for Instagram pictures, and somewhere like movenpick is a better option for quality ice cream.

Unbelievably good ice cream where every one is treated like VIP. Their deluxe and special cones are a masterpiece. They let you try any flavor you want before you order so you never get disappointed. All my friend who I took to Giapo were very impressed.

Truly amazing food. I ordered the takeaway cup of the Afghan ice cream and it was the most delicious dessert I ve ever tasted. It went well beyond simply ice cream , as it includes a Afghan cookie and real chocolate chunks throughout. Absolutely incredible.

Wanted to try the hokey pokey while I was in Auckland. Great falvor and I love the different cone options. Very artistic. Would visit again if I come back to Auckland in the future.
The place was packed that we had to stand. After trying it, I understood why.

Giapo is an artisanal ice-cream boutique with only one outlet in Auckland city. Each customer is served at a station and receives personalized service. You're treated to as many samples as your heart desires and with a merry smile! There are many unique concoctions like avocado ice-cream with a dash of soy sauce. You've got to see it to believe it. Giapo is a must-visit when in Auckland!

1.) Wait 15 - 20 minutes in queue
2.) Listen to a 15 minute talk on ice cream
3.) Wait 5 minutes in queue to purchase Ice cream
4.) Wait 10 - 15 minutes for Ice Cream
5.) Eat Ice Cream (Really Yummy!)

The staff are lovely here and the experience is awesome but I wonder if it has been taken a step too far. The space is quite crowded and the fast order door needs to be more obvious and made the preferred option. If you re looking for a casual ice cream, order from the side door. Giapo is the place to go for an ice cream, I just wish they would give customers more options to order quickly :)

Beautiful & tasty ice cream!
The first thing to notice is the queue from outside the shop, which tells you there is something special about the place.
Beautifully decorated and designed ice cream and cones are visible as soon as you walk in, and they taste good too. You can also taste the many different flavors they have.
The service is quit fast and the staff is patient considering the amount of people there,
The reason i didn't give this place 5 Stars is the fact that it's a bit overpriced - the most basic ice cream starts at 8NZD for 1 scoop in a paper cup and the specially designed ice cream + cones can cost you about 30NZD).

Amazing gelato and experience, but I'd be reluctant to go back with our (young) kids. They didn't have the patience for trying multiple flavours, and the flavours were mostly too exotic. One of them didn't eat theirs at all.

Fanciest golden cone ever had. Best service in ice cream parlour ever had. Managed to sample most of the flavours while queueing to order and while waiting for the cone. Managed to sample some chocolate cake. Water, tissue and wet tissue were brought to us later too. Friendly staff chatted w us while we waited for our ride.

Best ice cream. is pricey but completely worth it. you get a free second scoop if you go to the aquarium and get a little coupon too!

I don't understand the hype. It's gimmicky. The icecream flavors sound exciting but they are average and way too sweet. I only bought an ice cream coz I'd waited so long, and really wanted ice cream. I tried all the flavors and went with vanilla, as it was the least offensive.
