Had a wonderful day at the Getty Villa. The sculptures were amazing. I especially loved strolling in the gardens!

Great views, decently sized museum. I wish they handled parking better. You have to drive uphill on a single Lane to a window where you pay (I think it's $20). This isn't great when lots of cars come at the same time and are trapped uphill while waiting for their turn.
Loved the historical references, tile work, sculptures, gardens
Beautiful construction in old Italian / Greek style - many historical exhibits and paintings - parking costs $ 20 but admission is free.
Excellent as they captured every detail of the story
A MUSEUM TO SEE ANYTHING BETTER IS OUR BEST ANCIENT OUTSIDE OUR COUNTRY.
Beautiful Gardens, Deep History of Rome and wonderful artifacts.
We parked outside. In a public Street and came to the main door but the three guys there told us that we are not allowed to park there and we must park inside paying $15.
I'm sorry but not everyone who comes here can afford to pay that amount just for parking. We are travellers from Europe and we find everything very expensive in California already so it didn't make sense for us to pay as well for a "free" museum. The three guys letting the cars out were so rude, just because of them we didn't go in. You can explain things differently. Horrible.
Went for a field trip. Sculptures and paintings are interesting. Food prices are a little steep but the gift shop is fantastic.
So beautiful! awesome! It s too shocking!
Like the noble spiritual realm of the Americans!
A place worth visiting!
Truly an amazing place with a collection of Greek and Roman art that's amazing.
Highly recommend it. It's free admission. Parking is 10 dollars. Beautiful exhibits and friendly/knowledgeable staff
Beautiful place. Make sure to take one of the free guided tours.
Great views great art great time definitely coming back oh and it's free what else can you say...
Drove a fair distance to get here. Any indication somewhere, like, I don t know, their WEBSITE, that a ticket is required for free entry might have been helpful.
It's amazing! The gardens are beautiful and what can I say about all the art inside
Wasn't quite as big as I expected but truly a gem worth visiting. A great time capsule of past wealth and luxury.
Great place to visit. Highly suggest getting a guided tour to get the most info. Beautiful and educational. Great to being kids for them to learn and appreciate art and history. Very clean and pristine. Calming gardens. Can easily spend 2-5 hours here. Great museum gift shop with items from Italy and such. My 6&8 year old enjoyed the museum immensely.
Excellent free admission museum full of Roman and Greek artifacts. However, the beautiful garden grounds are definitely the highlight of the visit, scenic and stunning. Staff were also kind about me taking photos and I didn't feel unwelcomed or restricted like most places in LA. Great day out.
Only downside I can see to this place is getting there. It's a little out of the way, you will need a car. Uber isn't so great to use either as the signal isn't so good at the entrance of the villa and you might have trouble getting a pickup due to the location. If you drive yourself the car park is expensive too.
Loved the Art and Gardens, takes more than one visit to read and see everything. Lovely picnic area and restaurant.
You can spend a good bit of time here exploring Roman, and Greek antiquities. Be aware the cell coverage is spotty
Beautiful museum in a great location. Parking is $10 but the admittance is free.
I work there! Still an amazing place....I've seen things you people wouldn't believe!
Beautiful senic photo ops. So much history. Definitely worth a trip or 5.
Bringing my friend who came from out of States, and visiting this Villa has been one of his longtime dreaming, I had fun with this beautiful architecture and arts collections, being proud of myself to live in LA.
Getting tickets online even though it was not easy to print out, but I saved the cell phone screen and showed them to the staffs at the entrance, they made it easy to say yes to go to the parking lot($15) right behind the entrance. It was at noon on weekdays on July, there's some people along with kids because it was July when school kids on vacation to learn more history with their parents, it's perfect that there's breeze from the Malibu ocean, breathtaking views, the ancient arts collections not as much as LACMA, or Getty Center but there's prettier and essentials. And the beautiful garden with water, replica of one of the Pompey Estates in old Vesuvius in Italy.
They also have some contemporary arts such as Plato in LA, contributed Plato, the old Greek philosopher.
When my visiting came to an end, someone grabbed my sleeve, saying there's 10 mins filming about the Getty Villa and Paul Getty both. It was very useful to be better known about them.
Even though this Villa is the world tourist attraction, but as a resident of LA, I really enjoy it whenever I came here, to spend time with friends, family and kids to educate.
If you walk through the garden on a clear, sunny day, it may be well-being. You can also see various artifacts and overlook the sea in front.
Great museum for those who love antiquity
Please note you must reserve your seats or arrive at the opening
Honestly one of the greatest places I've ever been. I felt like a king at a palace.
I think it's $15 for parking then other then that it's free. Pretty cool spot
Nice, quite and few kids activities as well. Cafe is pricey but good food.
Forced to park in their 20$ parking space. Even though I got one of 1000 of free parking spot right next to Getty. The guard told me I could only enter if I park my car in their parking lot, because he saw my car parking outside, which was totally allowed. After he was arguing nonsense stuff he told me that they have an agreement with the neighbourhood, so the visitors with a car has to park at Getty (does the neighbourhood pay you? I don't think so) It's noting more than getting the money from the people and calling it "free" entry.
The Getty Villa is a Fabulous museum, built as a replica of a home buried under volcanic Ash in Pompeii. An extra hidden perk of the Getty Villa being located on the PCH is that you can just cross the PCH and be at a somewhat secluded spot on the beach
Beautiful museum with a few good exhibits. I didn't really care for the artwork with text all over it (nothing too special about a bunch of stupid text on canvas- just being honest), but I did enjoy the Warhol paintings. I had the opportunity to see the same Warhol pieces at SFMOMA, however it was nice to see them again at The Getty Villa.
Beautiful museum with free admission! Lots of events to get involved in, parking is $15
Great place to visit. They are in the midst of renovation, so soon it will be fabulous!
Incredible accomplishment. I remember when I came home from Pompeii and the bay of Naples and I bought a fridge magnet home with me. Well Mr Getty brought home the most impressive artifacts and then faithfully recreated a Roman era home.
Wow! This place was so interesting! It is filled with some beautiful antiquities! The grounds and buildings we're stunning! It is really great that you can use your parking receipt from The Getty to park here and not have to pay again. Can't wait to go back and take our friends and family!
Beautiful inside and out. 10 out of 10 would recommend.
Very nice, nice, a lot to see, know, it's a beautiful experience,
Kids love the art cultures. Excellent extension of art history class. My kid @ high school went to Getty for extra credit assignment. She truly enjoyed the experience and has learned so much within the hours of spending time at museum with her friends.
Incredible museum. I was recently in Herculaneum, right next door to the Villa of the Papyri, which this is modeled after. You feel you went back 2,000 years when you enter the Getty Villa. Excellent replication!!
The tour we took was FASCINATING! It detailed how many of the sculptures and ceramics played and role in the ancient cultures day to day life and in their worship. Truly enjoyable!
Amazing place. Free admission although parking is 15$ .
Beautiful building took a with Oasis bible tours. Great collection of Greek art!
Can t believe it took me so long to visit! As much as I adore the Getty, the Getty Villa just took my breath away. Fascinating collection if you re interested in archeological artifacts and ancient European art. The grounds are what really make this place special. Also very tasty food at the cafeteria.
Beautiful campus. Incredible collection. Best mount work I've ever seen.
What a great place to come and relax and to enjoy some beautiful art. No where near the size of the Getty Center. Very tranquil.
Lots of great art to see. Free entrance, only pay for parking.
Wow, what an amazing place! Getty had vision, and he had the means to share it. If you're in the area, a must-see!
I love this place because of the tranquility it conveys. After having a coffee on the terrace, you can visit its different rooms to enjoy its artistic wealth. Finally rest for a while in your beautiful garden with a large pond
We had so much fun. The collection is amazing and the interaction activities for kids was top notch.
Very beautiful location hidden in the hills of The Palisades.
Fantastic Mediterranean feeling to it. Beautiful views of nature and ocean combined.
Lovely. Leave your selfie sticks at home and get off your phones--here, we enjoy the art.
This place is paradise -- the views of the ocean, the beautiful estate, the art. We went on a short walking tour of the plants -- so interesting, and so much beauty! And be sure to book ahead for Tea by the Sea - a high tea the Villa does two days a week. It's often packed for months (and I can see why!) A really nice thing to do for a special occasion.
A magnificent reconstruction if we make an exception of concrete ... for a European, it's a bit strange as a mixture. But the places are beautiful and the gardens. Our guide was very kind and made us have a good time.
Absolutely stunning artwork and amazing guided tours.
I had a great time here; just as everyone says, it's amazing and beautiful. I was in town and needed to kill 1-2 hours, so it was perfect to do that.
You have to make a reservation prior and there is a $15 parking fee.
I also was in the first group to tour, so there was less people - I recommend doing that.
I wish I had more time to see everything~!
Wonderful place. Loved the tour and staff was friendly, the food at the eating area was high quality. I strongly recommend this place.
Beautiful remake of an ancient Italian villa. Amazing collection of classical artefacts, newly arranged. I actually preferred the thematic approach they used to have before
Now the objects are assembled chronologically like in any other museum. Can recommend to have a tour with a curator as opposed to the "normal" guides.
I loved the art here, and grounds are beautiful. As a particular fan of Greek history and the Odyssey, this place is amazing! Just be sure to leave before it closes - if you wait till everyone leaves at the end of the day, it's like trying to get out of a Dodger game.
