I wasn't a big fan of the food. It was okay but nothing special. Quite bland. You get a lot of food but it just wasn't exciting.

I like the food very ethnic. The service is very friendly. But service can be slow. Enjoy the German bier.
We had our Primerica yearly awards gala here in January 2020 and the service, food, and venue was great!
First time I have eaten here was this past Christmas. Nice environment, relaxing.. But a lot of the food tasted like it had been sitting a little too long to pay for.. Not that I did. I've heard great things about this place over the years though, and will absolutely go back for another try someday.
Decent place for holding events, but not very much cultural decor.
JOY of VOX entertained here. Best Buffet !
Previous huge book sale ! Craft shows well attended here. German decorations attractive. Versatile Musician popular on weekends .Free parking.
Great food and creative enjoyable tastes in a nice rural environment.
The food was great ... had our staff party there but no free pop ar rhe event and price per plate it was very pricey.
Such good food, get the pork schnitzel Cordon bleu. Soooo good!
Great place for events. Amazing staff helped and put up their own decorations then took them down. Food is plentiful and tastey well worth the price.
Visited on Sunday (Dec 22, 2019) on the recommendation of a friend. We were hugely disappointed.
The selection of food was dismal. And the warmers were not functional. Food was all served at room temperature, if not cold.
The wait staff were friendly and very helpful, but other than that, I can't see visiting again, unless these issues are addressed. My meal cost over $22 and everything was cold.
Mothers Day very poor considering we paid 35.00 per plate. Didn't even have glass coffee cuos or glass water glasses. Shame. Expected better.
Nice German restaurant in Saskatoon with German style food and German beer. Members like to welcome people of any origin to show off food from Germany and surrounding countries.
Went for Easter breakfast it was loud on there but there was many families, food was great and location is good
Sunday brunch is always a fantastic spread, and my workplace has been booking Christmas parties there for 3 years straight, and it's always a big hit.
Great service, delicious German food and a warm welcoming atmosphere! Will visit every time we come to Saskatoon! Highly recommend!
Great location for a wedding, beautifully surrounded by trees with ample parking space. Easy to get to in Saskatoon and can hold many people.
Held our staff Christmas party here, buffet dinner was excellent, staff were curteous and stayed out of our way.
Delicious german cuisine in the restaurant and lounge. Amazing Schnitzel and spaetzle with sauce! (see photo). German beers available and a selection of wine. The service is great, welcoming friendly and efficient. Open to the public but members get a discount on food. This is a good place for both small and large groups. Private rooms also available for functions such as wedding, meetings etc. This area is also used during folkfest as the german pavilion. Highly recommended.
Good food, good service, reasonably priced. Sunday brunch is awesome!
The German Pavilion at Saskatoon Folkfest never fails to disappoint. The dessert table is a main attraction for my family but it's clear the beer gardens and the roast pig continue to bring in the crowds. This year, we tried the Death by Chocolate and the Black Forest cakes. The Death by Chocolate was fantastic. The Black Forest was too dry. The German Cultural Club has continuous entertainment on two stages which provides visitors with an ample dose of German music and folk dance.
Schnitzel and spaetzle, rohtkohl and sauerkraut. Delicious and unique place to eat at in saskatoon.
Awesome facilities to host weddings, trade shows, flea markets etc. Lots of room to accommodate any size of group.
Great experience! The restaurant (Gasthaus) and event facilities are excellent. The German Pavilion at Folkfest is major fun. Would happily recommend to my friends, or anyone who is booking a wedding or an event, to call them. You don't have to be a member, but members get extras and privileges that are well worth it. Danke.
I save this place for special occasions, but the food and drinks are amazing. Must be willing to try German food obviously and it's not for everyone.
This address is wrong. I work at the German Cultural Centre
The correct address is 160 Cartwright Street, Saskatoon, SK S7T 1B1
Would sure appreciate if this was changed as you are sending people to the wrong place.
My web developer has made many attempts to have this changed.
Thanks,
Good service and great food. Was there dor lunch and will definitely be back again
Had a wonderful lunch special, steak sandwich, fries, beef barely soup, beverage all for $12.00. Food was great, service was the best and the atmosphere was beyond good!
Held Grandmother's funeral here. Buildings is nice and clean. Had a fruit and dessert "buffet" catered by them afterwards. Staff very friendly and kept up with the demands of 300+ people.
Great place to hold meetings or events. The food is always top notch.
We often come here for meals and some events. If you're just here for a meal, don't be afraid if the parking lot looks busy as it's likely due to an event in the back. The food is consistently good, and occasionally great or even amazing, especially with a pint of German beer. Love their Oktoberfest. I'm not a fan of their live entertainment in the restobar, but my girlfriend likes it, so... Still 5 stars.
Been a long time since I've had legitimate German food. This place nailed it. I had rouladen and my wife got schnitzel, both were delicious and the serving sizes were huge; you definitely get what you pay for. Really worth checking out!
Went here when the rock and gem show was on. Nice building.
I was there for a memorial/celebration of life ceremony.
Great place for an event. Doesn't quite have the same feeling being a new building, that the old one did. Still a great place and holds enough people to be a great venue.
Good price considering the quality of the food, also with the Sunday buffet it is all you can eat so you can't go wrong.
Highly recommended
I called them a few days ago to ask about renting the place for a wedding, and they never called me back. I guess they are fine with missing out on thousands of dollars
Great service and food. Larissa and the other staff are fabulous. Lots of parking. Great place for lunch
DO NOT BOOK YOUR WEDDING HERE. We went through 4 event coordinators in one year so of course every one of them told us something different. After we'd spend money on decor we were told by the next we weren't allowed to do it. Long story short it's EXTREMELY unorganized and I don't get stressed out easily but this was by far the most stressful part of our wedding!!
Things that I discussed with the coordinator did not happen on our wedding because nothing got passed down the line. We had all the lighting set at rehearsal on how we wanted it. Literally 5 seconds before I walked down the aisle the coordinator tells me she changed the lighting because she thought it looked better! Our photographer had the worst time trying to get great pictures because our entire wedding party was in the dark! Pitch dark!!
I'm trying to help you save your wedding by NOT BOOKING HERE!!
This is my wife s and my go-to-place. The food is authentic and awesome. Sunday morning buffet is to die for. And very reasonably priced. You won t be disappointed.
Good organization of work, successful location of pavilions
Folkfest 2019...great time. Good food and drink and entertainment.
We eat here pretty regular especially when I want schnitel. Food is always excellent and service it good. Fridays the have a little musical entertainment.
Have been a part of multiple events here including my wedding. In every one of them the event management staff have been difficult and non helpful. Would not do again.
Great place gives you that feeling of little bit out of town feeling the food is all right lots of parking for Weddings or special events it's great and that's why I got a v the catering aspect of the food is Fantastic Four Weddings and special occasions
Great brunch, inexpensive, perfect place to hang out with friends or family
Team is friendly, place is clean and bright food is freshly made to order. Little on the pricey side but large portions.
Thought the meal was rather bland but appetizers were awesome!
Terrible. Was a regular patron and for several years, going to
dinner was part of a weekly routine.Even became a club member. Last several visits, service seemed to decline. Wait times between placing an order and the time the meal arrived kept getting longer, regardless of how busy (or lack there of) the restaurant was. Went out on Friday, placed the order at 6:40, by 7:55 no meal, no explanation. so we paid for our drinks and left to support another local restaurant. Trivial apology from the waitress, Will not spend a dime there again, will be sure to tell everyone and the community about our experience, will not be renewing my membership. Very sad that such a Saskatoon institution has degraded to this level.
So good the German sampler and the chefs new home made my staff fannnnnntastic. But some of the servers cud be nicer
First time I've visited and eaten here. The ambiance was excellent and the food was amazing.
My husband and I chose the German Cultural Centre for our NYE wedding last year. One reason we chose this venue was because of the number of people they can accommodate. We had approximately 190 people in the Edelweiss hall comfortably. Shandra the events coordinator that we worked with was always very accommodating answering any questions we had. A bonus with this venue is that they can provide head table back drops and fancy linens at an extra charge but it is cheaper then renting or buying someplace else. The food was standard but they have many menu options to choose from. We chose buffet style for our guest and we were served at the head table. This venue normally allows you to bring in your own bar but because we were getting married on a holiday we were unable to do so. The bar that was provided had standard beverages such as hard liquor and canned beer but it had no extras such as bar lime, grenadine or other canned options. This venue was great to host a wedding and I would definitely book with them again.
A very popular place based on how busy it was. We went for brunch on Sunday. Very extensive buffet with lots of choices, unfortunately it wasn't filled with things that any of us enjoyed very much. We probably wont go back, but it was highly recommended to us
Food was terrible. 3 of us had a sampler platter. So much food on the plate it was unappealing. Maybe if they improved the quality and cut back on quantity. Can't believe people think this is real german food.
Great place! Fantastic food! Great service! Worth trying out!
Sorry, but I miss the old place. Sure, they have German food and beer, but there is nothing German about this venue. I have been here for a lot of events and feel like I'm in some random gym. The whole place could go for a little charm and character.
My sister had her wedding here a couple years ago... it was pretty basic and nothing special. The food was okay. The staff were great though! Parking is good and location is good too. Haven t been back to compare it to other events though. I m pretty sure it was affordable to have her wedding here so that s a bonus to most people!
