Gerardo's Italian Bakery Review

Pastry there is good however it was crowded and they had no plan for social distancing. people waiting were all ganged up at the door so it was difficult to get out without pushing through people won't go back at least until covid is over

If you love Italian pastry and or in need of a wedding cake, go to Gerardo's. My wife and I had our wedding cake made here, and we've returned every year since to get one for our anniversary. I hope they'll ship one when we move.

When hear from my mom's 40th birthday buy her a cake some cheesecake and some cannolis and we were not disappointed. A little pricey but well worth it.

Not very good quality. Wholefoods desserts far better. Frosting tastes cheap and too much of it. Chocolate low quality. Won't return. Cake wasn't tasty at all bland. Cheap ingredients used.

Had the worst experience EVER trying to order a cake for my sister's baby reveal. My sister absolutely loves this place and I was so excited to take her to pick out the cake of her choice for her. This experience has left us both in shock and beyond disappointed. Not to mention it was not packed so do not use the excuse of being busy as one for the treatment we received here.....We stood there forever trying to get a chance to look at the cake decorations they offer, I was told by an employee when I asked if we could be helped that they are "trying to get everyone in line their orders so they can move ..." so if standing in line trying to order an extremely over priced cake from you're establishment is not being a customer, please explain to me what is a customer!! Never would I recommend a place that has such rude employees and if you're not rude I will go and say racist because we were the only people in there of color and were looked past as if we were there at all.

We ordered our wedding cake from here. It was a great price, exactly as requested. Came out beautiful, was delivered on time. Also had one person in our wedding guests allergic to gluten. Asked Gerado and he considered one of our slices to be a gluten free cupcake. The cupcake made her day, she has never been able to eat wedding cake at a wedding before, and was absolutely thrilled. Gerados didn't nickel and dime us either. Every other place charges if you add a design, if you want a color on your cake. I wish I could give more than 5 Stars!

Once you walk into the restaurant is heaven. They have a wide-variety of options to pick from. They even have a mini restaurant next door.

My boys and I treat ourselves here occasionally. Lots of good things like peanut butter cheesecake, cannolis, and they even have several gluten-free desserts. We've also gotten their full size cakes for special occasions which were great!

They made my wedding cake last year and I fell in love. Now they make all of my cakes! Gender reveal, babyshower etc. Don't forget to raid the display case on your way out! This place does not disappoint and Jerry is so kind and helpful!

A typical Italian bakery: The canolis and eclairs are great but everything else tastes the same.
Lots of shortening, little imagination.
It is fairly common to get something that tastes old.
Owner is a loud mouth creep.

The wedding cakes are structurally sound but taste flat.
They don't screw up the coffee, though.

Everything I have gotten from here is great. They handle large crowds very well on holidays.

If you liked Scano's. You will like this place. I have bought too many stale things here.

This was my first time trying and I would say I d definitely come back!! They had great options to choose from. I m a dessert girl so I was very satisfied about that. The service was great very accommodating!

We're so happy we found Gerardo's. The cake flavors were all wonderful and the prices were the best we found. They don't charge extra for every little thing, and Gerardo worked with us to get us just what we wanted. Highly recommended!

So many delicious Italian pastries it's hard to decide. We went to pick up a dessert for a part we'd be attending, and ended up coming away with a few smaller pastries to hold us over. No one has to know...

Who doesn't love Gerardo's, everything is fresh and yummy 3 different locations for convenience. I love the Otalian Anise cookies and I also got these pastel colored cookies. In the case I believe they were 2.50 each and as I was getting ready to check out I saw them bagged with 3 different colors so I bought 4 bags of 3 and they were 10.95 each so I think that they were way overpriced
Yummy but expensive. I got some for treats for my friends.

Awesome pastries, the wedding sampler was great for a gathering of friends to try various cakes.( No one was getting married) I got it for the variety and it was a hit.

Delicious bakery with many Italian dessert options! They also have sandwiches and coffee. Their desserts are reasonably priced and there is parking on site. They have many flavored cannolis, cookies, cup cakes, almond macaroons and much more. Definitely worth a stop if you are looking for something sweet to eat.

Ok... Here's my thoughts... The bakery itself alone is AWESOME VERY CLEAN... Lots of pastries friendly staff... BUT the pastries UFF!! THEY LOOK GREAT!! I went in an got some anise almond biscotti and the anise it so overpowering I couldn't eat them...I got the cannoli's and I asked the girl to give me freshly made ones where the cannoli shell was still crunchy... She said happily OK but when I got to the car and tried one they were soggy so I went back in and another girl fixed them and they were ****PERFECTION****my first cannoli's in 23 yrs... The lobster tail pastry was soft and mushy....

PLEASE DON'T PUT AND LEAVE YOUR PASTRIES SITTING IN THE WINDOW CASES TO DIE...

If they make them fresh they are OUTSTANDING! I will always return. But I don't want soft smushy pastry and please lay off the anise it's too strong.

No numbers, no lines, complete chaos. I just stood in line for 15 minutes and walked out with nothing because there is no queue system. The food at Gerardo s is superb even if it s a little expensive. The service is generally pretty good. But waiting and watching people who came in after you be waited on is ridiculous. Come on Gerardo s. Do better.

I love they German chocolate cakes, and the cannolis, I could eat them nonstop.

I have ordered two custom cakes from Gerardo's Westborough earlier. The baker there was very curt but the cakes' quality was good. They charged us $150+ for each cake which was highly priced but because I liked the quality I was open to placing another order. So now when I needed a cake again for my son's bday this year, the Westborough location pointed me to the Bolyston location. The person who picked up the phone took down my order, but was extremely rude and unprofessional! She kept repeating the same sentence and refused to give any explanation... I have now decided to not place an order with them again! I am happy to go a place that is located further from us but were very professional to deal with and also charged us 1/4th the price than what we were charged at Gerardo's in the past.

My favorite bakery! My boyfriend and I go here at least twice each weekend haha. They have the best pastries and the girls who tend to the customers are always kind and helpful.

The process was super simple, the cake options are all so tasty, and the prices are extremely affordable. We were so happy to see the final result of our cupcakes and top cake the cupcakes were a HUGE hit and everyone enjoyed them! We give Gerardo s the highest recommendation for any wedding cake/cupcake needs!
