All I needed was a form that I was told to call their number and get. After 2+ hours of trying to talk with someone that knew what we needed I still didn't have the form. I have NEVER had a worse experience with anyone else ever!

This makes no kind of sense. I am a 60 year old disabled person. Have had Georgia medicaid to help with my prescriptions and Medicare payments for years. I started receiving a whole $85 in SSI last month and my medicaid was cut off and I can't get a real person to save my life...I am so disgusted...I had to pay $32 for four (4) pills...I can't afford my full prescription...what are they trying to do, kill off old people? Disabled people? I wish I could give less than one star.

Be very careful using a Medicaid transportation service called, Logisticare. I heard they will still charge Medicaid even if you cancel your doctor appointments or if you're unable to go at a last moments notice. I'm starting to believe what I heard about this company is true since these dummies at Medicaid never answer the phone. One hand washes the other here, I suspect.

This is the absolute worse department of health and family services. They don t want to work, don t want to help you, never answer the phone, and drag their feet on their obligation. Never in my life have I ever dealt with such an institution. Throw the whole DFCS away

Honestly so frustrating to deal with these people. First of all I've called every morning for over a week and I just get the "our agents are all busy" bs. No one here is actually working . Occasionally I'll get the callback option but two times have a gotten a rude lady who just hangs up in the middle of the convo. She was giving me an attitude for saying yeah and not yes? No professionalism. After waiting all week to finally talk to one of these "agents" this place really needs to get shut down.

One ring and then a beep.

One ring and then a beep.
My daughter was in a two vehicle collision, Dec. 2015. I was working and had insurance through my job. Her lawyer for the wreck, informed me, Medicaid of Ga had to be paid out of her settlement. She was a minor at the time. I didn't have Medicaid on my daughter. I can't get in touch with anyone from Medicaid of Ga, to dispute that false bill, and to get a copy of it. The lawyer said, Medicaid is asking for $11,000, and they said they will still need an additional, $268.35.
My daughter had a CT scan. I know Medical Billing and Coding. THERE IS NO WAY, A CT SCAN AND ONE DANG TYLENOL CAN COME TO A BILL OF $11, 268.35, AND I WAS CHARGED $600, OUT OF POCKET WITH MY INSURANCE CONPANY, AND THEY PAID THE BALANCE OF $2,000, AND SOME CHANGE.

100% proof socialism doesn't work. Just got my benefits cut off with no warning. I'm diabetic. I went last week to get my insulin, they wouldn't authorize the refill till the 3rd, I try to refill early so I don't get into a life or death situation. They canceled it on the 28th and my ssdi benefits are so low it won't allow me to pay out of pocket. So in 3 days ill be dead. To think people are begging for this....what a nightmare.

This really needs an option for less than one star. I moved to GA from NY with my sister who is permanently physically and mentally disabled and has had Medicaid her whole life. We have been here for 2 years and am still getting the run around from Medicaid, DFCS and Social Security for the same issue trying to get her covered for doctor visits and home care. No one ever answers the phone or returns a voicemail and seem uninterested in helping when you speak to them at the office (with the exception of social security). It is shameful how a government agency is run this way.

About Georgia Department of Medical Assistance

The Georgia Department of Medical Assistance is a state agency that provides healthcare services to the residents of Georgia. The department is part of the larger Georgia Department of Community Health, which is responsible for overseeing the state's healthcare system. With a growing population of over 10 million people, the department plays a crucial role in ensuring that Georgians have access to quality medical care.

One of the primary functions of the Georgia Department of Medical Assistance is to administer Medicaid, a federal program that provides health insurance to low-income individuals and families. The department works closely with healthcare providers throughout the state to ensure that Medicaid recipients receive timely and appropriate care. This includes coordinating with hospitals, clinics, and other medical facilities to provide services such as doctor visits, prescription drugs, and hospital stays.

In addition to administering Medicaid, the Georgia Department of Medical Assistance also oversees several other programs designed to improve access to healthcare for Georgians. These include PeachCare for Kids, which provides health insurance for children from low-income families; Women's Health Medicaid Program (WHMP), which offers family planning services; and Planning for Healthy Babies (P4HB), which helps pregnant women access prenatal care.

The department also plays an important role in promoting public health initiatives throughout Georgia. This includes working with local communities on issues such as disease prevention and control, immunizations, and emergency preparedness. The department collaborates with other state agencies as well as national organizations such as the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) on these efforts.

To ensure that its programs are effective in meeting the needs of Georgians, the Georgia Department of Medical Assistance conducts ongoing research into healthcare trends and best practices. This includes analyzing data on patient outcomes and utilization rates across different regions within the state. By using this information to inform its policies and procedures, it can better serve its constituents.

Overall, there are many reasons why Georgians rely on their state's medical assistance program administered by DCH - from providing essential coverage through Medicaid or PeachCare for Kids programs or offering family planning services through WHMP or P4HB initiatives - all while promoting public health initiatives throughout our great State!
