My husband waited in the ER for over 3-1/2 hours, in extreme pain, before being seen. when he was seen he was examined and released and told that his kidney stone would pass on it's own in about a week and to take ibuprofen for pain. When he saw a doctor the following Tuesday he examined him and informed him there was no way the stone would pass on it's own and that a stronger pain was to be prescribed and that he should never have been sent home that way, Next day he had surgery and is still being treated. Geisinger's own medicare plan did not even cover what it was suppose to cover. this is not a hospital this is a medical factory which sees profit over care

We had the best delivery experience with the Geisinger Danville Women s Center. From start to finish the staff was informative, hands on and knowledgeable. They put you at ease and make your experience a good one! No matter the shift or situation they were on top of their game. We will be back here for our second baby.

Had a radical hysterectomy earlier this year, which is major surgery. I wasnt even allowed to stay the night because they said my insurance wouldn't cover it. I had geisinger insurance! The nurses and techs were good but non of the doctors answer questions or give you more than a couple of minutes. I still don't have all my questions answered. They totally treat you like cattle they're hearding. I would never let anyone I care about go there. I tried to talk to someone about it all they did was send me a 20 dollar gas card. Please don't risk your life by going there.

Geisinger is terrible to deal with. I ve been in and out of specialists for red blood cell count and bilirubin issues for months with not even a hint on the answers. I have no diagnosis, no relief, and no positive change in months. If it weren t for them being the only hospital around me in network I would switch for sure. I ve also been having to deal with not getting paid for months at a time due to geisinger not faxing information to my works disability department in a timely manner despite multiple phone calls, emails, and relase of information. Not to mention the infections and detriment to my father. Would not reccomend if you have another option.

Went to my appointment in pediatric endocrinology, nothing happened. Be very careful if you have Dr. Godil. I got bloodwork again the same day, The phlebotomist was horrible! She completely went through the vein she stuck so I had a HUGE bruise and it hurt to move my arm for several days.

Very unhappy with this hospital. Their treatment, or lack there of, to individuals with developmental disabilities is atrocious. Every time I have been to this hospital with someone I support, whether the ER or during admissions, there have been major issues. Rude nurses, rude doctors, lack of care, caused more injury or illness etc...and the list goes on. Geisinger should be more concerned about quality instead of quantity. Bigger isn't always better. When you have a Doctor tell you that neither she, nor any of the staff are trained to work with someone like the individual I support, you know it's not going to turn out good. Get the training you need so you can care for everyone that shows up at your facility.

We could not be more pleased with the kind and professional care we received from the doctors, nurses, and staff during the birth of our child. The food service could use some help as we consistently got meals different from what we ordered and missing items, but the care was excellent and we felt like we were at home and with friends and family. Every aspect was smooth and professional!

Great facility with very caring staff. The only reason I didn't give it 4 or 5 stars was because of the parking. The parking lot is only accessible to the womens' health and maternity area (and I imagine Emergency). Otherwise it is extremely inconvenient and far away from all other entrances and if you can't walk far, you have to rely on the free shuttle service to take you where you need to go. The shuttles are slow and take forever to pick up patients.

Called for an emergency appointment for my son in August...was told that the earliest they could see him was November. He would ve been dead by then. Made an appointment for my daughter with a specialist. On the day we arrived, after a 2 hour drive (they offered me the Danville office because they could get me in a month earlier there than at the office I called for) they informed me that they don t take our insurance. After going back and forth with the nasty receptionist, I was told that they accept our insurance at the office I called to make the appointment at, not at the office that THEY offered to me because they could get my daughter in there sooner. Then this snotty, rude woman tells me that it s my responsibility to know these things. To be honest, it would never occur to me that the same dr would accept our insurance at one Geisinger facility and not the other. Absurd. And they shouldn t be offering patients appointments at other facilities if this is their practice. I found them through my insurance website. Anyway, will avoid Geisinger facilities at all costs going forward. Not impressed. At all.

I give 3 stars because I am very happy with the pediatric side, cardiology GI, NICU, and PICU drs and staff are excellent! However the women s side of things could be improved, how do you schedule a prenatal appt with no guarantee of an ultrasound I m sorry does that not go hand and hand? Both pregnancies I have had prior to this I was given an ultrasound before 12 weeks even and this one I m at 13 weeks and they say no guarantee of an ultrasound so take more time off work and travel further to go to these appointments but we are not going to tell you if your going to actually see anything!

If I may share my experience at Geisinger Main Hospital of which I was a patient for lower back surgery on 11/9/19. The weekend surgery from check in at 6AM to surgery, post op, and discharge was excellent. I cannot say enough how the staff listened to me and provided advice and direction to make the surgery as easy and painless as possible. They worked as a team communicating with each other before administering medications and anesthesia. From the night shift Pre-op nurse Wanda, then Dr Bailiff, Luke and Jenn from anesthesia, and the name I forgot about the young lady who monitored my vitals in the ER (wish I remembered her name), then Keneshia who attended to me from wakeup in Post Op to transfer to my room and Nurse Katie who took care of me until Discharge. I must not forget Danielle Klock (PA-C) for her work seeing us to getting discharged on the same day albeit she was very busy in the OR assisting Dr Haak until late evening. ALL were Super great with upbeat morale even as they were very busy for a weekend. Lastly I must say that Dr Haak took great care in keeping me aware of the procedure by explaining the surgery and after surgery keeping my wife apprised. Dr Haak even called on a Sunday morning the day after surgery to check on my well being and offer further advice. I still have a ways to go to get back on track, but I have a good start now. You guys deserve a 10 but the scale only goes to 5 on this rating. Thank You All!!!

We were never told or given a list of what he could or couldn't be near with this Pacemaker!!! Would never recommend this hospital to any one!!!

Got to the Danville ER at 8pm, and we were walking out at midnight..... so a 4 hour wait for a chicken pox vaccine for my 11 month old, that her doctor ordered and he called in to the ER before we even got there, that she had to have that night after being exposed to shingles. Never again. I will go to another ER or wait till the next day and go somewhere else and let s mention that she never needed or did see a doctor. It was a nurse, came in, gave her the shot and we were gone.....4 hours later!! I understand waiting your turn but to me a 4 hour wait for a quick shot in the leg is absolutely absurd. I knew she needed it and waited in the best interest of her, but LESSON LEARNED and had a long time to think about the lesson I learned in the waiting room!

My daughter who attends PSU, needed a general practitioner near school & went to this facility. She went in for an appointment and we were charged $373, just to see a Dr. When I called questioning this, I was told the Dr assigns the level by the time spent with the patient (1-5) & my daughter was assigned a 4. She went in for a specific issue, & was given a prescription. I am appalled at how expensive this is, as when we have seen specialist in the past & charged less. I was told it is what it is. Do your research, this place will overcharge you!!!!!!

Been taking my son to this place for 10 years. I used to really think highly of this hospital but now this place has turned into a joke. They are more worried about how much money they can get instead of the patient s well being. Not to mention, the nurses thought I was sleeping and decided to talk about me in my sons room as I was laying there. Completely disgusted.

I had to wait 4 months for an appointment because I needed surgery. The clinic called and cancelled my appointment only to say the dr was booked another 6 months out. I called back upset and got an earlier appointment. The surgery failed so the doctor said he needed to perform the surgery again. I had monthly post-op appointments scheduled only to get another call stating my appointment was cancelled and the clinic was booked out for another 6 months. The clerk tried to schedule me for a monthly post-op appointment 6 months out! I'm waiting to hear back if they can squeeze me in. And to top it all off Geisinger incorrectly billed me and my insurance $67K. Avoid this place.

Where to start...Geisinger Med Center has the greatest people. Every person we came across, from patients passing in the hall, the workers who run each department, and the surgical staff, everyone went above and beyond to show me and my husband nothing but care and kindness. The entire town of Danville, PA were kind. I was there for a Spinal Fusion and stayed 2 weeks after. We are from Mississippi, where so many are rude and uncaring. Dr. Slotkin, my surgeon, was super awesome! His nurse Chris Owens has taken very good care of me. They have stayed in touch and made sure I was ok. I couldn't have dreamed of my surgery going any better and being in such a great place.

Where to begin? The doctors and nurses are short tempered and unprofessional with few exceptions. They disregarded my wishes during labor/delivery and the lactation consultants made me feel inadequate. I would not recommend this facility to anyone who is having a child. At all. Sensitivity training and some people skills need to be taught to the people who work here.

My daughter s PCP through Geisinger (not in Danville) is not the issue, it s their awful billing department. I have never had so many issues getting information to my insurance company like I do with them. They say they take care of things and then I receive the same bill yet again. One time you get someone really helpful and the next is someone with attitude and goes on the defensive right away. Will never use them or recommend them at all for anything else other than a primary care doctor, and even then you might not get as lucky to have a good doctor. Lehigh Valley was much better to deal with.

My stepdad was life flighted to this facility for stroke symptoms. The Er staff was awesome and very helpful however the icu on the 4th floor and 4th floor med/surge all were very unprofessional and all seemed to lack in the communication field. We are two hours away from this facility and when we called to check on him we were told he is the same, or he is doing good (if you answered the phone at all) .... what in the actual hell does that mean? Not to mention doctors not returning calls, social workers acting like we were pulling teeth to get answers on discharge and game plan. The last two and a half weeks have been an absolute nightmare for my 78 years old mother and the rest of the family. Bigger is not always better and if I can help it nobody in my family will ever be brought to your facility again!!

I usually don t take the time to leave reviews. I had to come here in an official capacity. I did not know where I was going or how to navigate as I was never at this Geisinger facility before. I parked valet because it ensured I would get to my destination on time and I had no clue where I was going. The nurses were wonderful, which is why I only gave 2 stars. The valet service, however, is dismal. I do not understand why this flagship facility charges for valet when other Geisinger facilities, such as GWV or GCMC, offer free valet. To add insult, they only accept cash. The woman - whom I m assuming is a manger because she was not in standard uniform - was abrasive and said we ll just chalk it up in an extremely condescending manner. I proceeded to ask why I was being charged and she just rolled her eyes. I had to wait 20+ mins for my car and the guy stood there expecting a tip. If one facility is going to charge a fee, it should be across the board. Extremelu disappointed and this event ruined my entire perception of Geisinger, which I had previously thought was an excellent company.

During a stay of a family member, for a very life threatening illness, a few of the nurses on his floor ignored his needs and he had to ask for things that should of been common knowledge. For instance, changing the bed, every day, I ve never been in a hospital where that hasn t happened (germs!!!), secondly, get out of bed and walk him when they said they were going to and noted by his Doctor. Ask for regular meds... not pain meds. The person next to him was getting A+ treatment which was great but why isn t everyone treated the same . Very unhappy. Specialty floors excellent, general floors...forget it. Horrible

There was never a reason to doubt any step planned because everyone was very knowledgeable. The nurses of BP6 were awesome and had wonderful personalities. The best part was the card from the PacU staff waiting for me when I got home and one from BP6 staff that was in the mail today. Not sure about the hospital as a whole but the maternity section/labor and delivery is above and beyond. They re all so amazing. Nurses and the doctors. They make sure you re comfortable. I had a c-section for my second child (my first child I had in Lock Haven, HUGE difference in service) and had to stay for 5 days. They made sure my stay was perfect. They have all been so so nice and caring. I even had a couple breakdowns and they had someone come in and talk to me to reassure me it would all be okay that what I was going through was normal. They helped me with things like pumping/nursing. If they saw I needed a break they took the babe to the nursery giving me time to sleep, calm down, and rest. They re just all around amazing. I highly recommend this be your birthing place. With service above and beyond it ll be a great decision for you and baby.

I was billed $57.00 extra for a regular office visit. I have Capital Blue PPO insurance with a $15.00 dollar copay. I called the billing office and talked to some one named Shawn or so he says that is his name. He stated that because I have a war (VA) related injury I am billed for that. But I am not being treated for that there. Red Flag!! He was loud and rude and told me that I just have to pay the bill. I had nothing special done no testing just was just a regular office visit. So to anyone who reads this question your bills from what the insurance company said that if the doctor ask you about an illness then they will bill you even if then did not treated at that visit. And they also said that my bill was listed for an out patient clinic not as a regular visit. I called patient advocate office and ask for some one to get in touch with me by email. Some lady by the name of Tess or something like that I couldn't understand her called me I asked her to email me so I have everything on paper. She refused to correspond by email. Figures.
