This is one of the few companies that follows all the rules when it comes to direct marketing. They go out of their way to make sure their phone list have been compared to the national do not call list. Gci trains it's marketing team to treat every individual with the utmost honesty and respect. This is very rare in the telemarketing industry today. I am proud to say I am an employee of GCI Solar. GCI is a reputable company with great customer service, high quality products, and a mission to help homeowners save money.

I had GCI Solar install solar on my home a few years ago and am so happy I did. My bill from SCE is now $20 a month. The salesman Rocky did a great job explaining how everything works, the crew did an excellent job with the installation, and everything went awesome.

After looking into other companies, I'm glad I chose GCI Solar for our installation. Other companies we met with had only been in business for a couple of years. We loved the service and most of all we love our new energy bill.

Woo Hoo!

Their marketing is BS. I told the guy I already had solar. He kept giving me his sales pitch. I said "Are you hard of hearing ? I already have solar. " His reply "I don't give a F*&k what you have. " And hung up.

With marketing like that I would never even consider the actual company.

Getting solar for our home was not the easiest task because there are so many solar companies to choose from. After doing some research on solar and talking to our neighbors that already bought a solar system from GCI, we decided to get an estimate. The representative from GCI was very professional, straightforward and answered all of our questions. Once we saw what our new energy bill would be with solar it totally made since to move forward.

It has been a couple of months now having solar on our roof and it's awesome! The install process did take a while but I guess that's because GCI installs a lot of solar systems. Overall we are very happy with the service and the solar system we got especially knowing that we bought from a company that has been around a long time. With our savings we can now take a nice vacation. If your thinking about getting solar we would recommend GCI.

We had panels installed almost 4 years ago and have no complaints! Our system has kept us off the higher tiers and reduced our average bill over 50%. We may be adding panels in the future! Very pleased!

GCI was great for installation and keeping us informed about the project. HOWEVER- we are still waiting for our $500 referral money that was promised us. We referred a friend and their job was completed months ago! We have had a lot of people see our solar setup and want to know who did the job but we would never refer anyone to this company if they can t keep their existing customers happy!

If there's a Class Action Lawsuit against GCI ... ...

If there's a Class Action Lawsuit against GCI ... let me in! My house is the blight of the neighborhood and will happily be your poster-child for poor installation. My installation took 19 visits, failed inspection twice, wasn't grounded, broken roof tiles, holes drilled into the side of my main electrical panel, zero empathy. I don't have just solar panels ... I have an f'ing SOLAR ARRAY on my roof and I'm underpowered. Every person I've tried to contact at GCI "no longer works here". GCI gets 1-Star only because 0-Star isn;t a choice. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!!

Negative 5 stars. I asked the telemarketer to put me in the do not call list. He insisted that I have something important to tell me. I gave him a chance and started to use fear, saying electric energy is going up. I stopped him and asked him again. He said I will call back because you weren't listening. Well, he just got himself a complaint and a possible class action lawsuit.

Owners William Chen and Alex Takunaga finally shut down the business after being years in debt to suppliers, employees finally had to quit and never got paid . Solar was left unfinished on customers roof. They lied to employees saying all was well up to days of closing down. The most shady scumbags I have ever worked for . They have now filed bankruptcy

I never write bad reviews, I have no choice to write the truth, which is bad for me,

. GCI contacted me May 2015, saying I would reduce my electric bills if I have solar installed by them. They did the analysis, and said I would produce 8600KW per year, and that my PG&E bill would go down to fist tier. They installed 29 panels, and I pay Sunova $155 per month, which increases. I was paying $300 a month to PG&E before solar. The first year the solar panels produced less then 30% of what GCI promised. GCI messed up the shade analysis is possible, or there is another problem. will the solar panels ever produce what they said i do not know yet. .
I now pay PG&E over $200 a month, and Sunova, $159. I am paying more for electric, then before GCI contacted me. My Sunova bill will double over years to come. I believed GCI when they said they would reduce my bills,

October 7 received calls from sunova and GCI they are trying to help me. Which is good. I have changed the rating of my review to 3 stars. if they can get the production up will change to 5 stars. they may have to change the system so each panel produces instead of a string system, they might have to add panels.

overall I just want the system to produce what was expected. the panels look fine on the roof, as far as i can tell.

what i worry about is 15 years from now, when i am paying sunova 250 a month, will the panels be producing so i have very little i owe pg&e. this is more a concern. time will tell. i hope i do not have to move from the home i love because i added solar.
