GATES GMC NISSAN Review

I have been going to gates for the past 8 years for regular oil changes.. even though I did not purchase the car from them (next one will be) mark has always been the one I deal with from scheduling the appointment to the first and last face I see. Always thorough in explaining things in the language I can understand! He is awesome!

Even while I was waiting for paperwork, everyone was very cool and willing to have small talk to pass the time. I m very excited to have a brand new truck, and everyone else seemed excited for me. Very good experience. They got me a great interest rate and gave me advice on a different vehicle I own. I believe they did their best to put me in the best situation possible. Can t say a single negative thing.

I was oversold repair services. Went in for a simple job that should have taken 20 minutes of labor. It was turned into a $440 invoice and would have been another $250 if I had allowed Mark to unnecessarily replace my blower motor which was not making any noise or vibrations and was NOT in need of replacement. This service department is always looking for a way to squeeze an extra buck out of a customer instead of looking to fix a problem. I had a similar experience in the past with a different vehicle. I will look to go to an independent mechanic next time.

Really like Mark at the service desk very friendly and knowledgeable. It refreshing to see a dealership/business that really appreciates the customer and they let know it.

I previously purchased my first two cars from Gates and had a great experience. After my second one I bought my third from a different dealership and had an awful experience. When I was ready for my fourth I reached back out to Gates and they were absolutely incredible. The process was so simple, easy, and quick it was amazing! I would highly recommend them to anyone! Not to mention I absolutely love my new vehicle.

They couldn't change oil correctly. The work order stated that they put 5w20 oil in. The truck takes 5w30, when brought to their attention they "say" they actually put in 5w30. Ok I took their word for it. Today I change the oil and I see they put the wrong filter on. They put a PF48E (way too small) on it should have been at least a PF1250 a much larger filter for a 1 ton pickup (equal to the Purolator in the pic). I guess that is what you get for free oil changes? Also they had the vehicle 3 times (including time of purchase) and they say they check all fluids. When I checked the transmission fluid at hot running temp (engine running) there was only a tiny droplet at the end of the stick. Glad I checked before hauling my camper 1800mi extremely low on fluid. You are better off doing the work yourself or a private shop that takes pride in doing the job correctly.

Over the phone I was informed that I would receive a 0% interest rate. Due to being a little over extended, kids cars that they pay for but I needed to sign on, my credit ratting had dropped. I was not informed of the interest rate increase until after I drove 3.5 hours to the dealership and read it on the sales slip. I would have zero problem with what is fact, but they did not feel the need to call me as soon as they had the interest rate information. That is unacceptable to me. I felt that I was stuck with no ability to walk away from a sale where the terms had changed from when we last talked. Other than that the process was very simple and enjoyable. Staff was great, dealership was great.

JP was very forthcoming and his approach was no nonsense. I always appreciate it when a sales or customer service pro says the three magic words... "I don't know"... I happen to have met another customer when I was working with your service department who just purchased a GMC truck and he too worked with JP. He and I agreed that JP is a very good salesman.
